Resident Evil 6 On Xbox 360 Gets Timed Exclusive Survivors, Predator, Siege Modes

By Ishaan . September 11, 2012 . 8:30am

Resident Evil’s usual Mercenaries mode is back in Resident Evil 6, but Capcom are adding other multiplayer modes to the game as well, as post-launch DLC. There are three of these—Survivors, Predator, and Siege Mode.

Survivors mode is a solo and team-based versus mode, but with a slight twist. If you get killed, you respawn as an enemy character and get to attack the other human players. If you manage to take two of them down, you’ll respawn once again as a human. The winner of this mode is the last man of team left standing.

Predator mode lets a player control the Ustanak, which is a B.O.W. that stalks Jake throughout his campaign. Again, the player controlling the Ustanak tries to take the other players out, while they attempt to either stop him or survive until the end of the game.

Finally, Siege Mode lets you play either as humans or enemies. As a human, your job is to protect a single NPC. If you play as a member of the enemy team, your job is to take down this same NPC. The winner is decided based on whether the NPC gets killed or if the human team manages to protect them.

As mentioned above, all three of these multiplayer modes will be released as post-launch DLC for Resident Evil 6. The catch is that the Xbox 360 version of the game will see them first, as a timed exclusive. All three modes support up to six players and will share maps with Mercenaries mode. Capcom say more Mercenaries maps (which can be used with these three modes) will be added to Resident Evil 6 as post-launch DLC.

Resident Evil 6 will be released on October 2nd for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America. A PC version of the game will be made available sometime in the future as well.

Wait! I misread that and edited it, but WordPress was being wonky, so an older version of the post went up instead.  It isn’t free. Sorry to get any hopes up.

I’m gonna edit your comment (hope you don’t mind), so that it doesn’t confuse anyone. I’ve updated our report as well.

Well, with the already huge amount of content the game will carry, in this case, I respect the DLC call. I mean, they have to keep the interest up.

This is off topic, but can someone tell me why Avast keeps blocking this site saying this “http://httpjs.com/japi” is a threat. It goes so far as to block access to this entire site.

I think I’m just gonna wait for RE6 Gold.

  • DanteJones

Sounds like these new game modes could be pretty fun, though I wonder how much they’re going to cost. :|

    Capcom… exclusive… DLC…
This is destined to end badly. :P

On a serious note, is there anything for PS3… because it would suck if there isn’t. :(

(although Sony got their spoils with SFxT anyway, so I suppose it’d be fair)

More like On-Disc DLC: Scam Edition.

These time exclusives suck, but I think it makes sense for Capcom to push the 360 version hard since the PS3 one will probably outsell it due to Japanese sales. My guess is that Capcom wants to have a steady sales balance for both versions, I just wish they would find another way instead of time exclusivity.

I doubt it has anything at all to do with Japanese PS3 sales and wanting both versions to sell the same amount. The more likely scenario is that Microsoft are playing ball with them, just as they did to get the demo early on Xbox Live.

consdering that its more about how capcom sell itself to M$ or $ony

      M$ bought RE6 exclusives

$ony bought sf x t exclusives for vita and ps3

Nintendo bought MH for 3DS and more like capcom its lazy and want to recycle the same assets used last gen.

Capcom likes to get extra money in every front

So in other words, everyone involved is acting like a business, taking steps to try and be one step ahead of the other guy.

Let’s leave it at that, and agree or disagree with the decisions, rather than add the old hat commentary renaming of the companies.

      • Farid Belkacemi

And what is your source exactly, about Nintendo buying MH for 3DS ? :p

        • eilegz

where its the vita version? xD

its not literally they bought it, its just nintendo put “extra” effort to get MH for 3ds only….

          • Farid Belkacemi

Simple : the time has come for the 3DS, not the VITA :D

  • Natat

Well, RE6 Gold Edition is gonna be great.

  • HarryHodd

Well this makes it easier for me to not buy and save my money. Thanks Capcom!
