Most Of Falcom’s Staff Is Working On The Next Trails In The Sky Title

By Spencer . September 19, 2012 . 4:50pm

Trails of Nayuta, a PSP action RPG with a Trails in the Sky size story, is out in Japan now. That’s not the next Trails in the Sky title, though. Falcom is developing a follow up to Trails of Blue, which came out at the end of 2011.

“We have the most staff and resources allocated to the next title in the Trails series now,” president Toshihiro Kondo said to Siliconera.

“We are taking a lot of care to make sure it is the best one yet. In terms of graphics, it is going to be a big enough upgrade where just one glance people are going to be able to say, ‘Wow, Falcom has really upgraded the Trails series.’”

While Trails of Nayuta played more like Ys, the next Trails title will have a battle system that’s more like the Trails in the Sky series.

I’m happy knowing I’ve got Ghostlight to count on for this games eventual localisation..Now I just have to grow and stop finding TiTS funny :L

  • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Mm…correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Ghostlight just publish XSEED’s version of the game? Therefore, if anything, either XSEED localizes these games or we will never get to play them in English~.

Crap, meant this as a reply to Liam Tasker~. >.>

  • Spectacularity

    ALREADY HYPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >.<

  • Manuel Antony Marcano

While extremely exciting, we’re still quite a few games back. I’ve been handing out copies of TiTS like candy for every occasion. Birthdays? Here’s a copy of TiTS. Christmas? Have TiTS. Bar Mitzvah? Kwanza? ANYTHING. All this in the hopes that people will become more aware of the series and Xseed will see the series as worth translating.

That whole comment is pure win. Have a Like.

note that he said “we are taking a lot of care to make sure it is the best one yet. in terms of graphics” Mmm.. which handheld or consel is mostly known for best graphics, i think is on the top of my head but i just can’t……starts with an (?)

    • Godmars

I wouldn’t read much into it. It would be great if a game of this type and caliber hit consoles, but for whatever reason realtime/pseudo MMO 1-1 scale is the preference devs choose.

      • xavier axol

yeah i know…is just that everytime i play with tits, i get that fuzzy feeling. i get high on tits!

i know that feel man playing with tits really gets me going

          • xavier axol

oh yeah the game is also just as entertaining :-D

        • Godmars

          Too much information…

  • PoweredByHentai

    Excellent news.  :D

I’ve been throwing copies of Trails in the Skies [PSP LE version] at my friends whenever possible.

  • Solomon_Kano

Well, Nayuta already looks on par with a number of 3DS games, but it’s not exactly RE Revelations. So this is either a Vita game or a 3DS game or, in a better move than either of those, it’s both of those.

    • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Thing is, it’d make little sense to release the next installment of the trails series on the 3DS (or any system other than the PSP / PSV) since it’s been 5 games into the series now. While Legend of Heroes isn’t anywhere close as unfriendly as Kingdom Hearts is, playing the sixth installment without knowledge of what happened in the prior 5 games would be a waste~.

      • Solomon_Kano

True. Stranger things have happened though, so you never really know these days. They have talked about wanting to expand the series, and there really isn’t anywhere else they can go. I don’t see them not putting it on Vita (Nayuta on PSP, Trails port and Ys on Vita)  but being on 3DS as well wouldn’t surprise me.

        Then again, there is this:

        http://www.siliconera.com/2012/07/11/rumor-falcom-is-bringing-the-trails-series-to-3ds/

Of course, that’s just a rumour, so who knows what will happen.

  • dahuuuundge

It would be awkward to release this on 3DS consider both Zero and Ao are on the PSP. I prefer not to platform hop just to get the complete Kiseki experience.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

I really hoped Falcom do well here. Considering they are probably a few company that actually takes Jrpg genre very seriously here.

I would be damn sad here if they are unable to do well here.

I hope it’s gonna be on vita and have a stand-alone story, I just can’t follow the current trails story.. with sky, zero, and blue…

  • Ayoub AzouGarh

Is this new game for the PSP.

  • Leonard Norwood Jr.

Took awhile for me to get the whole story behind the Legend of Heroes games. They are an excellent JRPG series that I could get into. And the fact they got another sequel does make me want to go all out to get them. It’s still a shame that Xseeds got some work cut out for them trying to finish up two more games that already has need to be continued on another portable system, that’s just me.
