What’s up with this exclusive shop DLC lately? XD
why not equally bonuses? U sure this trend not pissing people?

    • Luna Kazemaru

some people have shops they go to and buy games It gives that shop more money and I guess the people who go there a reason to come back.

      • Nitraion

Ok… so i assume buying game in asian version is better? you know like sleeping dogs HK version have 3 DLC of 3 stores bonuses with less price….
and from some reason retailers in here have stocked game with differnt set bonuses in one shop…XD

        • Luna Kazemaru

That’s normally the case yeah but yeah dlc like this is normally for retailers to grab people kinda like how halo 4 has skin color and armor types at other retailers. There is positive in it all but normally people just use it as a reason to rip on dlc kinda like the DmC thing when its just skin types for the set you already have in the game.

The retailers each want something different and it also allows them to separate the SKUs for ‘price matching’ purposes. It’s really nothing new, the giving away swag with reserves/purchase goes back to the days of Electronics Boutique, Software Etc. and Babbages as separate businesses. (i.e. pre-gamestop).

There, when many malls had ALL THREE competitors getting something the other guy didn’t have was essential.

      • Aqua King

This may be good for the businesses, but this is a case where the customer loses. I really hate feeling like I can’t get ‘everything’ especially when the bonuses include in game content. If they aren’t offering these bonuses for sale separately, it becomes frustrating that I feel pre-ordering from one store will prevent me from getting whatever the other two stores have offered.

  • Think I might go for that Amazon one.

  • badmoogle

Take content out of the main game ,make it pre-order exclusive and still have the rest of the fools who don’t want to pre-order buying the game at the same full price lol.

What a splendid way to steal your customers!

    • Luna Kazemaru

Yes because people are going to really care about outfits and a puzzle mini tomb…lol.

Let’s not go too hype here. For this we are talking just another shade of brown skins, 48 tiny pages of comic, and art that might just already be digitized and available online.

Heck, it could be argued that none of this stuff is different enough to pick one over the other. Which means folks will just keep to their regular buying habits.

      • badmoogle

        I’m talking about Gamestop’s pre-order bonus.

  • Xmas Lopez

Whoa, Gamestop’s bonus seems kinda paltry compared to everyone else’s. Geez Gamestop, looks like you didn’t dish out enough dough

    • neo_firenze

Gamestop’s looks like the only one that I would care about at all.  Actual single player gameplay content?  I’m in.  I don’t care about junky mini-artbooks or comics that will only clutter up my house and be ignored, and I really don’t get excited about an extra outfit.

I wish it wasn’t the case, because I prefer buying from Amazon… but I’d choose Gamestop this time.

It’s hardcovered comic book man :)  I liked the hardcovered FF13-2 bonus novella from Best Buy as well (that was actually only Chapter 1 of “Fragments Before” though, and w/o the CG art from the Jpn 360 pre-order bonus).  I know the stuffs hog space, but I dig the artbooks and behind the scene stuffs, actually lots of mini-artbooks aren’t too shabby at all, the Xenoblade one was cool, so was the Magna Carta 2 mini-artbook from Gamestop. What I don’t like is redeeming a “digital” artbook..

I alrdy got it from Newegg w/ $15 off, but if I have to choose, it would be btwn Best Buy & Amazon for me.. I used to buy from Amazon a lot, but w/ all the crazy $12-15 pre-order discounts from Newegg, I’ve alrdy switched like 20 pre-orders from Amazon to Newegg, unless Amz has some cool bonuses, like the steelbook case for Assassin Creed 3, which Best Buy has too :) Amz’s deals kinda suck lately..

  • Learii

i rather per-order from best busy if that the case

  • Quinton Cunningham

So who’s gonna not buy this game now? Judging by the comments on the DmC post last night, quite a lot of people.

    • Luna Kazemaru

They where not going to buy dmc in the first place so I don’t see what that has to do with anything nor do i see getting mad ovwr skins for your equips that you will have in game.

      • Quinton Cunningham

“nor do i see getting mad ovwr skins for your equips that you will have in game.”

But to explain myself a bit better, (as you seem to need it) I was mainly mocking the general message that was in that thread which was “I’m not getting this game because of the pre-order stuff”.

I was mocking that line of thought because nearly every game does that these days, including two major games that Siliconera readers are anticipating. (Ni no Kuni and Virtue’s Last Reward).

So it has everything to do with this post.

  • Aoshi00

Amazon bonus seems enticing, want the artbook and I have a Kindle Fire too (the old non-HD one *.*).. but I’ve alrdy pre-ordered from Newegg, w/ $15 off code.. so question is are the stuffs worth more than $10 :(.. have time to decide until March…

I know it’s to drive loyal customers to store, but I hate missing out on something too, like Gamestop’s Sonic pinball stage is still not sold as DLC in the US for some reason, while it’s available on Jpn & Europe PSN/XBL..

  • Mazdian

Aww, retailer specific pre-order bonuses. >.<

And wow for Amazon. They netted good bonuses. Artbooks. :9 Hard cover. *swoons*
