Good step in the right direction, a game AND a memory card. [Well, for two at least. I guess we can’t have it all.] And that’s a pretty reasonable price imho. That white Vita is lovely-I know someone buying the bundle to sell back AC but get the white Vita and card lol.

Hopefully this will give the lethargic sales a little bit of a bump. I feel this holiday season will be make-or-break time. Good luck, Vita!

  • kupomogli

“inFAMOUS Collection with inFamous and inFamous 2.”

and Festival of Blood PSN voucher.  People always seem to forget that.

  • .

If only PSO2 wasn’t announced as an online-only game; I might be OK with buying the non-3G version. This looks like a good deal and hopefully they can extend some sort of price-cut/bundle for the 3G version too.

    • Curan_Altea

I’m like 99% sure you can’t play PSO2 with 3G. Seems meant more for friends houses, cafes’, etc. So if PSO2 is your only reason for wanting 3G…. Maybe get the Wifi.

    • Luna Kazemaru

Dude the vita version of Pso2 hasn’t even been confirmed for a western release.

      • Sam

Vita isn’t region locked so you could easily download it from the Japanese PSN and go back to english profile to play it.

        •  No, the memory card is region locked

          • Sam

Also, memory cards are not region locked, I DL japanese games off PSN all the time and so do others. Maybe I don’t understand you clearly?

          • i mean 1 memory card can only be used for one psn account, so you cant go back to your US psn id without erasing all the data in your memory card

        • Luna Kazemaru

The thing is you need a SEGA ID and sign ups for pso2 for non Japanese are IP blocked.

          • Sam

I and many other americans are playing JP PSO2 right now. It works with your same ID from the PC and american IP’s are not blocked. I’ll be playing it again tonight and if you would like to I can help you.

          • Robert Leonardi

that’s not what he meant, he meant that the registration for NEW players outside Japan is locked

          • Luna Kazemaru

Let me explain it better new non japanese players are blocked if you have a account already you aren’t blocked

  • Thuggin Love

Who in their right mind would choose to get a Vita,1 game, and 4GB mem card over a 250GB PS3+2games+30day ps+,It’s like they’re setting this thing up for failure.

    • Someone who already has a PS3?

    • Pyrotek85

      I would, I already have a PS3 lol

    • If you wanted a console more in the first place then the price isn’t the main factor…  Same goes with the reverse.

Why buy a laptop when you can buy a cheaper desktop and get better performance/upgrades?  Obvious reasons…

    • Luna Kazemaru

Yeah because no one owns a ps3 already lol you really didn’t think when you posted this.

The only thing the ps3 sale has going for it is psn+ the games they are offering can be found for less then 15 bucks.

    • OH YOU!~

    • someone who plays portable duh

    • Someone who wants a handheld? or maybe, someone who already has a ps3? not hard

    • Aoshi00

The Wi-Fi Vita was $250 at launch, w/o a game and memory card.  Now it’s $200 w/ a $40 game and a $20 memory card, and in special white color.  Yeah, you could play Assassin’s Creed 3 on PS3/360, but Liberation is also another great game.  And there are tons of good games of Vita now, so maybe that’s your reason.  If I hadn’t gotten a Vita at launch and have the game, I would totally get this sick looking white Vita bundle :)

For the PS3, I had the Phat and Slim for years alrdy, as do many others, so :)… Many people have probably played those games alrdy too, Liberation just came out.

  • Micheal Willis

I hear CoD is REALLY bad.  And apparently it was made in only 5 months

  • S- Class Wizard KaRamo

I would so want the Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified Bundle but the 4GB memory card that would be in the box would end up being sold or in my bag cause that wont hold mush but it’s still good they included it

    • Robert Leonardi

don’t, its a broken buggy game, not worth the $50, better buy something else

      • sherimae1324

hey how can u say its buggy…… have u ever played it oni-chan
as far as i know it only got bad reviews because of the short gameplay but its a call of duty what would you expect besides the MP is whats important and im addicted to it though im not good at shooters ^_^

besides i do not judge the games by reviews i buy it and played it for myself i think you are reading to much vita-hate reviews in oni-chan ^_^

        • Robert Leonardi

          yes i played it, borrowed the cart from my roommate (actually i took it from the dinner table cuz he left it there and went to party, shhh XD), but this is what i think;

campaign was too short and AI loves to run around and do random things (such as throwing grenades infront of them and shooting explosive props around)

multiplayer is more or less a wreck, had problems trying to connect to servers, and most of the time i get knifed in the back everytime i spawn (though i think most COD games are like that nowadays), and the lag… yeah…

though i do believe that the reviewers are exaggerating too, at most this scores 2.5/5.0 to me, its like resistance burning skies, but lesser the pain (was expecting resistance to be more campaign based, but yeah… pretty much the same with BLOPS Declassified)

n4g ? never heard of that website =/, i visit siliconera and GT for my gaming news

          • sherimae1324

but considering that the developer that made this game only in 5 months i think its a bit harsh for them since i think activision is also not taking a good look at it…… sigh this could be a good and better if it only was given the time it needs -_-

          • Robert Leonardi

well it had potential, but activision boot that out of the window because of its 1 game in 1 year policy, so they had to catch up with BLOPS2

  • I know their game selection is targeted at a broader audience with games like AC and CoD in the mix, but I’d much rather something like Ragnarok, Journey, or a Persona game to lure me into buying the system. =)

  • riceisnice

It’s never an RPG is it?

    • Hraesvelgr

Most RPGs aren’t considered “system sellers” to the casual crowd, which is who they target more with these bundles.

      • PreyMantis

Like the Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Pokemon bundles… Oh, wait…

        • Elvick

You do realize that there are far more than just those 4 IPs in the entire RPG genre right? (if you’re on here, you should know this)

And I wouldn’t really consider DQ or MH system sellers in the West.

  • doubleO7

With the way the article is worded, Ishaan almost makes it sound like they’re making new bundles for Black Friday, when they’re really just pricing down the already-existing ones (well, at least for the Vita bundles, the PS3 one might be new but I’m not sure).

Anyways, this price has convinced me to pick up the AC Vita bundle. I already have P4G on preorder, and I might throw Gravity Rush and Hot Shots Golf in with the bundle.

    • Curan_Altea

I highly reccomend Gravity Rush. Very fun and orignal game, with great visuals.

    • sandra10

You could always just get Plus, and be able to play 6 games, including Gravity Rush, for a year for $10 more than what you’ll pay for GR alone.

  • Barrit

If I didn’t already have a Vita, I’d be all over that AC bundle. Oh well lol

  • xavier axol

i got the assassin’s creed bundle knowing full well that they were gonna do some special deals, but somehow i couldn’t resist the temptation of holding the white vita with my hands.

anyways if anyone out there still on the fence, now is a good time. there are a ton of games for it, while there’s not that triple AAA title that everyone was expecting like nintendo with mario land 3d or kart7. there are some good games like persona4 golden, ragnarok odyssey, smart as, gravity rush, littlebigplanet, dokuro and assassin’s creed 3 liberation (and i’m not counting the awesome metal gear solid hd port, need for speed:most wanted, retrocityrampage, and soundshapes that you would see on the ps3).

    • Budgiecat

Zomg you didnt get the Call of Duty Black Ops Xtreme Bundle?? Everyone gets Call of Duy mang..

      …that’s….SO not Xtreme….

      • xavier axol

CallofDuty? never heard of it, i play real games and not a infectious disease that plague the gaming industry. but i though that at least it would be a good one, so that it will entice people to buy the vita (which i believe the hardware holds potential). i guess i was wrong, declassified (by the way, that’s a stupid name for a title) is the worse fps ever!. activition are a buch of a#%@&*€$ for been greedy and geving it on the hands of bad developers (one can tell that they didn’t care), and as for sony. well how could they not do anything about it!? i’m sure that they paid a lot to get the IP exclusively on the vita, they could done something about. like paid a little more so that it was gonna be on good hands like the developers that made past call of duty’s, it’s a shame really.

  • Epitome

iam gonna be on that sale iam taking home a Vita

  • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Wow its on sale the week right after I get the ACIIIL bundle, lol. Creys. Good deal.

    • Hraesvelgr

It’s gotten to the point in the gaming industry where buying just about anything that comes out in October or early November is a waste of money, because it’s almost guaranteed to be on sale for Black Friday and/or Christmas.

      • Elvick

        Someone with common sense? O:

        Yay~ *gives you internet*

Seriously, if you buy new stuff near Black Friday you’re taking the risk that it’ll be going for nothing in a few weeks. It’s not like Black Friday is something new and unexpected.

      • Peeka Chu

Day one console or game sales are only for technology enthusiasts or fanboys (consoles). Or generally impatient people like myself. I got a Vita and 32GB card back in February. And really only started playing with the device several months later when Gravity Daze and Disgaea 3 launched. Haven’t put it down since mind you, and its becoming perhaps my favourite console of all time (despite its current foibles – I LOVE the library, portability, potential feature set of the device).

But yeah, a total waste of money from the get-go, if I am to reflect on my purchase.

  • Don’t care too much for the games… I’ll wait for that blue color.

  • Budgiecat

    neat neat

  • I do like the PS3 Bundle, lovely!

  • tubers

Too bad for me as I’m not interested in those games. :(

Standard  PSV + 16 GB for 200 bucks please xD

  • VITA stands for Vile Ill Terrible Awful. Joke! But yeah, still no way in heck I’d shell out the money for a Vita.

    • Dede Ogbe

wtf you doing here then ;-) haha yh man it needs a price cut and some MORE good games. But i would definately pay $200 just to b able to play Persona 4. that should last me till Soul Sacrifice comes out.

  • Shogunreaper

    Now thats a deal…

If i was ever interested in buying the vita that is the deal i’d want.

Might go for it next year, probably be like 149 (With deal) by then.

    •  I don’t think so. A 3DS (not 3DS XL, the old 3DS) plus a game still costs more than 200$. I don’t see the Vita ever dropping bellow the 180$ price point. Sony is already selling it at a loss as it is.

      • Shogunreaper

I said with a deal it could be 149

And sony isn’t selling it at a loss right now.

  • revenent hell

Im going to assume this is “in store” only? Does anyone know if this will be for their online shop(sony’s) as well?..I might buy it and give the game as a gift if I dont actually have to leave my house to go buy it…I dont go shopping durring black friday unless they have online options..

  • Sadly, I lack the $200 to get the Liberation bundle…. oh well.

  • Still people are complaining about the price which i think a great bargain already considering Vita is just still a year around. Might have got one of the bundle if i didn’t have one already.

If you are concerned with the limited space of the memory card just get the physical copy of the game.

  • TheDarkEmpress

    Oh, lovely…..right after I drop 250 for the AC3 bundle last week….

  • ragingmerifes

Should I wait for a Persona 4 bundle?

    • Locklear93

I wouldn’t.  I don’t think any Atlus title has ever been part of a hardware bundle.

      • ragingmerifes

        But… but… awwww, bummers…

        • Locklear93

Yeah.  Especially since everything I’ve read says ACIII for Vita is mediocre at best, and CoD for Vita is full on awful–these aren’t the ideal titles for bundles.  Unfortunately, they ARE the best name recognition for bundles. :/

          • sherimae1324

ac3 for vita is mediocre at best?…… hmmm… atleast play the game for your self, dont read useless reviews or just watching the game on youtube, PLAY IT and SEE IT YOURSELF oni-chan ^_^

          • Locklear93

Thanks, but no.  While I agree with you that reviews are commonly useless, I’m not about to drop money on a game that one of my closest friends (who lives across the country, so no, I can’t just borrow it) has described as lackluster, with heavy handed storytelling.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s value in seeing for oneself, but there are FAR too many games out there that I know I want to play to waste money on one I’ve got zero reason to have faith in.

  • Wait, so which stores offer these deals?

  • Looks for Persona 4 bundle… : (
Still, I hope people start picking up the Vita over the holiday season – I think it’s a great piece of hardware and I’d love for it to survive.
