Shining Ark Has More Than One Opening Movie, Let’s Watch Version A

By Spencer . November 22, 2012 . 4:00am

Shining Ark tells the story of an island-dwelling boy who finds a one winged angel on a beach. (Insert Sephiroth joke here.) Sega calls Shining Ark an adventure and fantasy life RPG because players can spend time baking bread or watering vegetables.

The opening movie is version A so we’re guessing there is at least version B. Nana Mizuki who was Colette in Tales of Symphonia sings the game’s theme song, Melodia Miracle.

Shining Ark comes out on February 28, 2013.

As Nana Mizuki is singing the part A here, can i be a bit greedy and hope for Kotoko singing the part B?^_^

    • Kibbitz

Hoping is free =P Getting, not so much =P

Am horribly curious now as to who’s doing Part B though. Also curious who Nana-sama voices since she’s not anyone in the current character list on their official website.

The neko-pirate girl is so sexy.

  • http://wiredjungle.wordpress.com/ DrakosAmatras

Dammit, Sega. At least introduce the characters first before you show them rubbing their bust!

Now you know what the “2020″ in 7th Dragon meant all along!

  • Sergio Briceño

I have this weird habit of imagining how it would feel like if I actually were in a party in an RPG.

And honestly, spending the days with a one winged girl, it’s gotta be disturbing. Also, how is she supposed to sleep? It’s gotta be uncomfortable.

PD: The world needs more Shining-anything…

  • Nitraion

I have feel weird feeling watching that winged girl in the fact that she wear no bra…o_-

    • Sergio Briceño

It’s not weird at all. It’s called an erection.

      • MrTyrant

        Thx japan.

          thanks.JPN.

      • Never

        Thanks Japan!

It would be glorious if we could get another PSP JRPG localized. Don’t let the platform die just yet! Also, two OPs? That’s certainly generous…

    ESTUANS INTERIUS

    • Luna Kazemaru

I thought the PSP was dead for years?

      • Godmars

Only in the US. Which is why we’ll likely ever see it.

        • Elvick

PSP hasn’t been dead for ‘years’ in NA either. Not with a bajillion releases all the time, but it got good games releasing consistantly for awhile. Mostly from Japanese RPG makers. And we’ve gotten a good few digital only this year, and three releases at retail.

          • Godmars

But its pretty much gotten nothing but bad press from US game “Journalist” in particular.

Much the same way the Vita gets tons of negative press based more on opinion rather than facts.

          • Elvick

That’s because most of the support was Japanese, and most media don’t like the bulk of Japanese design choices. Yet review games they know they have no interest in anyway, and if people were to reach said reviews that would be clear.

But most just skip to the review SCORE and then hate on the game for sucking because someone didn’t like it. :/

      • amagidyne

No, no,  I’m saying that if I were the PSP right now, I’d be saying “do not let me die.” Except with the Vita around, I’d be doing it in Latin. You know, ne me mori facias.

And then I guess I’d just suddenly yell the word “Sephiroth”.

Sorry, this joke was pretty stupid.

  • FFmax

How am I supposed take this game seriously if they just keep flashing tits everywhere? That’s really unnecessary. I hope second opening is a bit better.

  • Trotmeister

At first I was surprised by the amount of shameless fan service, but then I realized this is Tony Taka’s game.

  • MrSirFeatherFang

Anyone know who is composing the music for this game? The A and B OP thing was in Shining Hearts as well, but I didn’t hear the Shining Blade OST.
    Tony Taka ftw

  • Luna Kazemaru

Its always funny watching the comments where people cry about fanservice after…I honestly forgot how long now But heeey not much of a shining fan but that’s just me. Also 3 is alot now I see

Isn’t the guy with the eyepatch Sephiroth? He came to reclaim his daughter!

Joke aside, pretty cool opening. I preferred the one in Shining Blade though… Anyway, this is going in my PSVita on launch day.

  • TiamatNM

Too bad we’ll never get this in english :(

    Hot catgirl pirates need localization

So… a red moon? Kaguya’s world?? And the scythe girl are most probably  Sakuya/Kaguya…

  • DS23

How many chest-only shots can we fit into a 2 min clip? The world may never know.

  • http://strictlyapathy.comoj.com/ SoulArbiter

The chances of this getting localised? Slim, but here’s to hoping!

  • http://www.mengsbizarreadventure.com Mengplex

So this is not related at all to the ‘Shining’ series of games?
Because when i read the title i thought it was some sort of remake of Shining the holy ark but it defo isnt…
