Capcom will release an expanded version of Dragon’s Dogma for Japan called Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. This version has a new area called the Black Curse Island to explore with new monsters.

  • I’ve only played the demo and loved it. But couldn’t this have been added to current Dragon’s Dogma as DLC? Or enhanced creation system as a patch?

Anyway, I’d probably pick this up, if/when it comes to the west.

(Also, before anyone says it, I know this is Capcom we’re talking about.)

    • MrTyrant

Soo it’s like a completly different game and not DLC, isn’t it?

      • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

I’m pretty sure they said that this would be actual DLC from PSN and XBLA, unlike the on-disc fiasco from earlier in the year. Though I wouldn’t put it past them to make a re-release faux GOTY/Super/Hyper/etc. edition with everything included too. =/

(Actually I haven’t picked this up yet, so in my case would like them to go that route.)

    • XiaomuArisu

      Thats the confusing part.
First they said its DLC,now super version.
I hope its both DLC for people which already own it and super version for new buyers.

      • I know. Though it would probably make more sense (business-wise) to sell it as a re-release with the new content, but that alienates the existing fanbase. But the article’s title makes it sound like a re-release to me, with a possible DLC release after a period of time has passed.

I would hope, for the sake of the existing fanbase, it comes out as DLC.

  • Namuro

I’d love to see the players ride on Death and see him goes around buckin’ like a rodeo bull.

  • Pockystix

    holy shit

hopefully he is. . . or is not as tough as Castlevannia Deaths lol

  • Göran Isacson

Seeing as the characters always seem to be running from Death, I have to admit I’d like to see him be some kind of unbeatable boss that you have to outrun and trick, never actually defeat… but the likelyhood of that is probably pretty low.

  • I read this article and then I… jizzed in my pants…

  • Nitraion

._. this not a DLC wow….i was planning to buy this DLC and dark soul one too…

  • Priom

I wonder if they’d consider a pc version now.I know it’s unlikely. But still I’d like to see a monster hunter styled Japanese game on pc

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Wonder what equipment they’re adding. I was disappointed at the lack of stabby spear weapons for a game based on medieval fantasy… =(

  • Brion Valkerion

looks like im holding off on this for xmas lol.

  • konsama

And i thought they didn’t wanted to pull more SUPER/G versions of their games… Well this game is so good and has so much wasted potential i wouldn’t really mind.

  • Abel.exe

I knew they would release a “better” version of DD soon, so I didnt bought the original game when it came out. You cant fool me anymore Capcom :)

    • Cept it’s not a “better” version, it’s a DLC expansion. The japanese release this article mentions is probably a re-release (for japan) that comes with the expansion, but since DD is like ~25$/€ now, you really won’t be paying any less or more.

    • Nitraion

Dammit i kinda feel stupid now i fall to their trap once again… *_*

  • Forever Alone gamer

    again.. source?
