By Ishaan . December 20, 2012 . 9:09pm

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix has a release date in Japan. Square Enix will release the PlayStation 3 compilation on March 14th, 2013.

To recap, here’s what’s included in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix:

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix with Japanese voices

Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories

Movies from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

Square Enix have made a few tweaks to the version of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix included in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix. The game now plays more like Kingdom Hearts II with special actions on the Triangle button, and has a camera like Kingdom Hearts II as well.

Additionally, both Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Re: Chain of Memories will have Trophy support.

  • I actually have a reason to buy this. One, because it’s the Final Mix version of the first Kingdom Hearts, which is my favorite in the series. And two, I didn’t pick up Re:CoM since CoM is my least favorite in the series, so it’s like killing two birds with one stone.

    • Elvick

      I love CoM. <3

      • KHSoraKeyBlade

CoM is such an underrated game in the series :'(

        • Elvick

I agree. The strategy involved was intense. You couldn’t just button mash your way through, which is what I liked.

Shame people dislike it so much they downrate our comments for no reason just because we say good things about it.

          • CoM wasn’t bad, it just was such a departure from the first game with the card system. But I did enjoy collecting cards, building decks, and being introduced to Organization XIII. Plus, it let us play as Riku. ^_^

          • Elvick

I understand why people wouldn’t like it, it is different. I don’t understand the hate it gets though. It’s a well crafted game.

People confuse “I don’t like this” with “this is bad”. Plus the story is great in the game and was a perfect lead up to KH2.

  • Melvin Kwan

I wonder if there’ll be a digital release. If so, I may buy it on PSN instead of importing.

  • SigmaNHK

Hope we get news on the localisation by at least summer. Although, I probably played these games enough that I don’t need the translation.

    • Zeik56

I pretty much know KH1 by heart, but I don’t think I could actually play the game in Japanese. Japanese Disney characters are just wrong.

      • jeka69

Or plain funny. Japan’s Donald never fail making me laugh :D

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

    >That japanese font

  • > Not a single mention of a western release by now.
    > Is worried.

    • surakian

This is fairly normal when it comes to Kingdom Hearts. We’ll be pretty lucky if we hear a date before this game releases in Japan. I’m really hoping for sooner than later, though.

      • I dunno… Considering the luck we had with the Final Mix-es in the past it’s kinda worrying.

On the other side though they did said in KH 3D we will have “The past reawakened in a new number” so… probably they’re taking their time, maybe re-dubbing all the game? Oh well, hope we get a western release mention at least sometime soon.

    • I thought I heard a while back that square said they do not plan on releasing this in the west.

      • surakian

They only said that the announcement at TGS was Japan only, which is their usual script for new Kingdom Hearts games. The only time I remember a game being announced for all regions was KH3D when it was unveiled at E3 2010.

  • Randy Marsh

So going to import this in March, then I’ll buy the English version when it comes out!

Why is most of games coming out in march lol
well i’d still get this only for re:com

    • Akuosa

Because it’s the end of the fiscal year in many countries, incluiding Japan.

  • NANAandLIZZYfanatic

Give me a U.S. release of this, FFX:HD, or Versus next year and I’ll be happy, give me all three and my gaming bucket list shall be complete.

    • Elvick

Well, last we heard of FFX HD, SE wasn’t talking about it. Wonder if XIV affected it, or if they’re just reconsidering it all together. Though if they’re doing an HD KH, then I don’t see why they wouldn’t do that for FF. So meh.

      • KHSoraKeyBlade

KH HD was considered before FFX HD according to Nomura. Why SE announced it when they did I have no idea, probably because of the Vita’s release at the time.

  • Anime10121

If this isnt released or announced for release by September next year, Import agogo baby!

This’ll be the first game I’ve imported since BBS FM, I already know these games like the back of my hand, so if it for some chance (maybe still something to do with Tarzan’s world), doesnt release in English, I’ll still buy.

  • Crevox

    Will it be on PSN?

  • ragingmerifes

There’s going to be a hell of a lot of good games coming out in March, isn’t it?

  • Alfy Masamune

another re-release, what a surprise, how about making new games or concentrating on FFXIII Versus that people have grown old waiting for.

    • KHSoraKeyBlade

      >Different development teams.

      >It’s not affecting the development of Versus.

      Troll harder.

  • KHSoraKeyBlade

If I remember KH3D wasn’t confirmed for EU or NA until after Jump Festa (or around that time). So I won’t panic too much on the release date of other territories just yet.
It’s brilliant to finally hear a release date for the Japan version, I did sorta guess March though after they said the game was almost complete. Interesting that it comes with a code for the PC Browser game as well.

Fingers crossed that it gets a summer release outside of Japan like KH3D did, but we’ll have to wait and see! :D

  • So, it will be a digital release?

  • Steven Higgins

So, we should get it between July and September if at all. I also heard that there’s an option to switch between the English and Japanese voice tracks in the JP version (KHFM only), so even if it’s not localized we could still follow the story with an import. So the Commands/menus should be the only hold up for those of us who can’t read Japanese.
