I think my mind is going to explode

  • brian

Aggghhhh dammit Japan, you should’ve already let PSP die.

    • No.

    • piichan

why? most of the new releases for it are otome/visual novel/anime games which sell very well over there. no reason for them to kill it off yet.

    • MrSirFeatherFang

Mind explaining why you want the PSP to die?

  • Gabi López Ramírez

    Absolutely hoping this gets localized.

    • Agreed. I really hope Aksys takes a chance on another otome game.

  • piichan

Thank you japan for making non-japanese speaking otome fans weep T_T

  • ragingmerifes

Just playing for the RPG elements, not because of the cute boys. Just like Ouran High School Host Club.

  • eilegz

    so this its gay stuff?

    • Ochi ☆

I don’t know if you mean “gay” as in “homosexual” or “gay” as in “i find this to be stupid because it doesn’t suit my interests…”

Either way, it’s incorrect and offensive and really has no place here. It’s totally possible to comment with your disinterest in something without being insulting.

    • Powerful, incisive commentary. Well done.

    • Göran Isacson

Main character’s a girl, so not really.

    • Boba Bob

Uhh no, it’s not “gay stuff” if i’m correct about what you’re thinking, it’s an otome game, play as a female character and date male characters.

    • M’iau M’iaut

You’ve been making a lot of kind of meaningless posts here lately. You certainly know what we mean by think before you post. Now it’s a warning to keep comments like this the heck out of here.

  • Göran Isacson

See I know what Hakuoki is, but what’s the Girl’s Style deal about? Is this a cross-over game with another franchise, or just a sequel to Hakuoki?

Although oh man, I am now imagining dating sim/VN cross-over games. Woo one games heroes/heroines with the other games protagonist! Or woo the other protagonist! Or better yet…

    Woo everyone.

    • Ochi ☆

Girl’s Style is a magazine run by Dengeki that covers otome games, but Otomate (the subsidiary publisher of Idea Factory that puts out Hakuouki) is working directly with them on a number of projects, and this game is one of them.

It’s not a crossover so much as a game that takes place simultaneously with the main Hakuouki title; it’s covering the “other side” of the story, as these are characters linked with the Satsuma/Choushu clans, but characters from the original game will be making appearances and still sort of be a centerpiece to it all. This article is kind of lacking in a lot of the information that actually came out of the magazine announcement, including some stuff that’s already circulating on other sites.

      • Göran Isacson

Huh, so what would that co-operation include? Writers on the magazine working on the game, extra PR-work, funny little things like the MC finding Girl’s Style magazines in olde times Japan (hey, if Metal Gear Solid 3 can have game magazines from the 21st century…) or do we not know yet?

Also- does it say if the protagonist is the same gal as in the original game, or is it a new one?

        • Ochi ☆

I can’t say for sure, I think the DGS side of things is more of the promotional side (advertising and whatnot), but there are a couple of things going on, including some sort of short novel or comic that’ll be running in the magazine.

The protagonist is an entirely new character named Kirishima (full name not confirmed since there are multiple readings for the kanji in her name and I haven’t seen a definitive one yet), and she’s got her own story completely unrelated to Chizuru’s.

      • Ladius

Thanks for the informations, it’s nice to know more about the otome scene. It’s also great to see Japan can still support niche videogame magazines like this otome-focused one.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Hmm…… Sui-chan is going to dance like crazy again?^_^

  • Testsubject909

    Huh… I was sure I would’ve seen a comment by Sui….

    • M’iau M’iaut

Shes too busy burping baby Okita.

    • Sweet Sui ♥

      I came (^o^)/

Oh nononono~ not in THAT way, I swear (totally did not sound right) ^_^”” LOL

My Hakuouki senses were a bit delayed due to sickness, but I still managed to find this article much to my fangirl-y desire’s delight xD lol.

  • Lazulis

Day 1 if localized. Hrmm…what are those little blurbs with the original game talking about? Izou is in despair? ZETSUBOUSHTA.

  • new_tradition

Awesome. I was just craving some otome goodness. Just please make it out in English. C’mon, Aksys *_*

  • @SuigetsuHiramura:disqus YOU MUST SEE THIS.

I still need to check out Hakuoki though…. Brb.

    I need this like now (ʳ ´º㉨º)ʳ

  • Ladius

The first Hakuoki really sold me on the whole franchise, I’m waiting for the hack&slash spin-off and I hope Reimeiroku will be the next one to be localized.

  • Sweet Sui ♥

Woo, I’m really late to the party with this one, aren’t I? Can’t believe I didn’t see this sooner… ^_^””
GFKGKDJFJD~! It looks friggin’ GORGEOUS @[email protected] I want it, like, NAO >w< Aksys, you'll bring it over, right? Pretty pweaseeee~ I beg of ya:
    http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7zuop8zHr1rqu3lf.gif LOL

    If not then I'm really going to make some serious effort in learning Japanese~ too many quality otomes have been released that I haven't been able to play because of the whole "in a language I don't understand" thing… ;w;

Hmm… seems there's been a couple people talking about me here. I really need to pay attention to the articles more often… ^_^"" lol.

Why does the lame-looking blonde one have the wonderful Heisuke in the corner…?
