    DAT DAY 1 DLC.

    • Curan_Altea

I don’t see any problem with it when it’s an optional costume that adds nothing to gameplay.

      • kupomogli

Atleast it not something that adds anything to gameplay you mean? There’s something wrong with it, but atleast it’s something that still gives us access to the complete game.

Whatever happened to unlockable content that developers threw into their games? While there are still developers out their that rewards their fanbase with post game content, sidequests, etc, without having to pay for it, most developers rarely give out a reward for completing the game anymore. It usually a harder difficulty and that’s it. Want extras? Buy the DLC.

        • Curan_Altea

I didn’t say I liked it, but I didn’t see it as a problem. They’re just trying to make additional money off the game, and I’m sure there’s plenty of people who wouldn’t mind spending a couple dollars to get a cool costume.

And It would seem that there is at least 3 outfits in the game. White Raiden, Black Raiden, and the authentic civilian disguise.

          • Pokahontas McGuigan

there should be in game unlockables if theyre already available, if they create the costume post release then they dont have the option to put it on disc. but they do rite now, and theyre optign to charge people extra instead of including it on the disc

          • asch999

Ah,… Back to the days when we spend many hour and rely on our skill to unlock bonus content, Today everything can be unlocked with Money -_-

        • Kaihedgie

Mortal Kombat: Beating Ladder with anyone other than Cyber Sub-Zero unlocks their alternate outfit. Playing through Story Mode unlocks Cyber Sub-Zero and Quan Chi

MVC3: Accumulating PP unlocks Taskmaster, Sentinel, Hsien-Ko and Akuma

UMVC3: Accumulating enough PP unlocks Galactus

Blazblue Continuum Shift: Clearing Score Attack with anyone unlocks their Unlimited form

Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3: Getting certain characters’ friendship level to 3 unlocks them and their assigned mobile suit. Clearing a certain mission unlocks Knight Gundam.

DOA5: Collecting enough Trophies unlocks ALPHA-152

Bleach: Clearing certain missions unlocks the other two forms of Ichigo and Kokuto. Playing through Story Mode unlocks various characters and clearing it unlocks Aizen.

Unlockable content still exists in many games with DLC today. You people have just gotten way overreacting on the idea of DLC to the point you’ve somehow forgotten or ignored their presence

          • MrSirFeatherFang

Did you beat Legend Survival in DOA5? I don’t think I’ll ever get Lisa’s rare costume (I did unlock Legend Survival)

          • nano_desu

Unlock conditions for swimsuits have been changed. As of patch 1.03, you need to play 50, 100 and 200 ranked games to get costumes for Tina, Christie and Lisa.

          • MrSirFeatherFang

Holy crap, really? I already have Tina’s and Christie’s rare costume… but now it seems unlocking Legend Survival was all for nothing unless I want to Platinum the game.
            Thanks!

          • Kaihedgie

I unfortunately don’t have the game. I just looked up stuff

        • Kris

There are unlockable extras in Rising.

          • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

I think people are getting carried away since they still have no idea what does the game have.

        • MediaMindControl

Dynasty warriors 3. Unlocking their ultimate weapons was so frustrating yet so epic there was this actual feeling of achievement to it. There hasn’t been anything that gives me quite that same feeling since. Some games are pretty content heavy without DLC like monster hunter, the phantasy star portables for instance. DLC works well for these smaller companies since we can support their growth with dlc sales. Bigger companies though really shouldn’t rely on this tactic. I bought all the N1 disgaea dlc for that reason.

Imagine if you played Monster Hunter but earned nothing and had to buy new costumes. That would suck so much, and yet that’s what most other games are all about.

          • Mr_SP

You mean, other than Raiden’s in-game costumes, like the sombrero, and at least a couple others that we’ve seen spaces for. Sure, the Cyborg Ninja and MGS4 costumes aren’t free, but we know there’s a couple others.

          • MediaMindControl

Mh is great. There is enough substance and dlc expansions aren’t required to change your appearance.

        • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

I don’t remember Metal Gear Solid 2 or 3 having extras. Solid 2 just had a boss survival mode fight while Solid 3 had a minigame. If I wanted extras I needed to buy the updated versions, Substance and Subsistence.

          • Mr_SP

…Other than the secret invisibility and infinite ammo equipment. And Metal Gear solid 3 had a bunch of acquirable but unnecessary “costumes” (less camo, more Russian Sneaking Suit).

    • Brion Valkerion

Unless you pre-ordered in Europe then its free lol.

Either way, everyone knows Gamestop in NA got the best free costume, all the others really dont matter compared to Grey Fox. Pft red, white or MGS4 armors.

  • LETS PRAY FOR LOCALIZATION

Hmmm dats so sexy its smexy.
    im so getting that Kappa.

  • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

It’s very cheap but the White Armor is basically the same. I’m more eager to play as Suit Raiden.

Thank god the visor/ocular piece have animations.

Can I have an armor made of nanomachines?

    • Kaihedgie

How about someone made entirely out of nanomachines

  • dahuuuundge

Am I a spoiled entitled gamer who wants costumes like these to be unlockable in-game rather than day 1 DLC?

    • https://twitter.com/#!/Ojsinnerz Firo_Prochainezo

Some costume stuff are unlockable though :T

  • Visa Vang

    How about Snake’s costume?

  • http://twitter.com/funkgu Aric Mannion

The only replay value that arcade action games like this have is unlocking new costumes. For some reason when you just buy the costume, I couldn’t care less. I guess for other people replay value comes from a higher score or new trophys? I just have no interest in that. What was once my favorite type of game has become boring to me. I am still unlocking costumes in Shinobi for PS2. But this game? Maybe I’ll play it once.

  • l777l

    Great, DLC.

  • TheInternetNomad

kind of disappointing that this is DLC considering how many costumes/octocamo MGS4 had on disc.
