Armored Core: Verdict Day Coming Out On September 26

By Spencer . February 19, 2013 . 2:34pm

acvFromSoftware is working on a new Armored Core game, Famitsu announced in their latest issue. Armored Core: Verdict Day uses an enhanced matching system based on Armored Core V. One change is that, during territory conflicts players can participate in battles and choose which side they want to be on. This change should affect the game’s world balance.

Players will be able to transfer their save data from Armored Core V into Verdict Day. Armored Core: Verdict Day will have a limited edition with an AC figure, soundtrack CD, and special packaging.

Armored Core: Verdict Day will be available on September 26 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Let the Armored Core V series begin. :D

maybe whomever picks this up (if anyone even does) will be able cure the horrific management of the game in the states. I miss agetec…

    • MogCakes

Yeah, Bamco sucked ass in AC’s support. They just don’t care, it seems, about FromSoft other than flipping Dark Souls. If Agetec picked up the next title I would be very happy, but unfortunately FROM’s locked in a partnership with Bandai…

Hopefully they will put in more parts and more Story Missions :D

    • MogCakes

      I second this!

  • Juan Andrés Valencia

I hope they release it in the US and Europe.

    • MogCakes

That is about guaranteed, unless Bamco decides to be a dick…

  • solbalmung

oh my god, yesterday I was just thinking to myself “when will From Software announce a new AC” !!!
Hope it’ll be as much great as V and that they’ll emphasise more on the story.
Can’t wait for the OST too, wonder how Frequency will amaze us again *_*

  • LynxAmali

Hopefully, it’s like 4A was to 4. Really hope they put EFFORT into the single player campaign too. Really didn’t enjoy how short V was.

Also; being dead on arrival might’ve helped kill it for me.

    • MogCakes

Bamco really fudged up whatever community ACV had at the start. Almost no patch support – worse than Ubisoft and Sega. They treat Armored Core like shit, the only reason they care about FROM is Dark Souls :/

  • Richard N

It’s funny because V means 5 and Verdict starts with V.

    Hahaha… hahah…… hah……

    • badmoogle

      Just like AC4 and For(4) Answer. :p

    • MogCakes

      conspiracy!

  • Godman

More parts would most definitely be welcomed as well as an even better emblem creator (My avatar is a emblem I created in ACV)

ACV was an awesome game, but too short and shallow. Nevertheless if this game is localized I’ll be going for it

  • Kaihedgie

    EEEEEEEE~

  • Ethan_Twain

Could this be, by chance, the secret console game being developed at From Software under the direction of the man who directed Dark Souls? And if not, does that mean From has 3 HD titles cooking right now? Isn’t that a little more than they normally have going on? Have they been expanding?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Altin-Bujupaj/1157167838 Altin Bujupaj

It could be possible, as Miyazaki worked on AC: LR, 4 and 4A.

    • popyea

I think the secret game from Miyazaki was described as a new IP, so probably not another AC.

  • Ceci “Ruzuzu” Kiyomizu

    Oh yes now i’m pumped.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

This is going to be interesting.^_^ Wonder if it can be a huge improvement like how 4 to 4A.^_^

  • TheDarkEmpress

Oh no, not again. And no, this isn’t AC hate, but the whole system needs restructuring….AC4 was a step in the right direction…and then they make very little forward progress. Same like AC2 for PS2…everything after that was babysteps. Once you play the first release for each generation of console, you’ve played them all. And honestly I’m not going to go into the endless boring technical blabber to support my claims either. Anyone who actually likes the series (like me), who foolishly continues to buy each installment (like me) and is almost always disappointed unless it’s new-gen releases (like me), will tell you: Armored Core needs a complete rebuild from the ground-up.

    • MogCakes

As a fellow series vet, I wholeheartedly disagree. Armored Core has always had a CORE (haha, pun) style of gameplay revolving around, at the very least, energy and ammo management and positioning. That’s what keeps the gameplay like it is. I’m open to a new approach if they want to change it up, but NEED a complete rebuild – no. Also, this is the requisite expansion on this generation of AC, so there won’t be major changes to the gameplay (though there will undoubtedly be many tweaks). What’s your ideal Armored Core title? What kind of combat would you choose for it?

    • LynxAmali

We need more Last Raven + 4A.

V had a bunch of good ideas but the focus on the multi-player aspect was really questionable. I can understand trying new things but…really? That just wasn’t AC, aside from the customization. There wasn’t a large enough single player campaign with branching paths. I really do like AC’s stories, especially 2′s and 4′s overarching arcs. V really felt lacking in that department.

I’ve been playing since the very first game was released in Japan. What the series needs is people to handle it better. FROM’s great as a developer but publisher wise, at least in North America, it’s either hit or miss. Especially with BanNam’s treatment of the community for ACV.

  • Learii

just 1 question can you fly up in the air like AC 1-4? if is like AC 5 then no thx

  • http://www.facebook.com/christopher.guishard Christopher Guishard

I pray they dont use bamco as their publisher again, They are the ones that made the game terrible and the sad part was From Software got the blame….

    • MogCakes

Unfortunately, they’re in a partnership. We can only hope…

  • MogCakes

The series isn’t dead! This brings me great joy.

Til this day AC2, AC2AA, AC3, AC3 SL, AC NEXUS(THE BEST TITLE) AND ACFA are still the best titles hands down.

  • Celticmutt7

Patch support is devs responsibility it is not bamcos responsibility to develop patches or adapt them to other servers bamco may have taken a while to release these patches but they have to test extensively to make sure it will run smoothly on other servers after all their name is on it im very excited but i really hope they nerf sniper rifles and buff heat howitzers!
