  • Meh, somebody should give the rights to platinum games so we can get a proper one piece videogame (oh shit, now i will have to add “IHMO” at the end of my statement )……………………IHMO,PERIOD………….menstruation

    • You’re walking on thin ice here. If it really takes that much effort for you to be polite and not bait people, maybe you should look somewhere other than Siliconera to voice your opinions.

Here are our posting rules. Please give them a thorough read:

      • OathkeeperSoraXIII

This isn’t the first time he’s ‘baited’ people he said this sort of thing a few times on the OP:PW2 articles.

        • Whoa man, you remember me!

this was my last post you didn’t answer, im going to copy and paste it word by word:

You are not going to tell me what i want and it doesn’t matter how much LMAOS and RONFLS you use, your argument stills retarded.A varied and deep combat its not exclusive from fighters and it doesn’t make a game a fighter just because of it, there is no damn universal law that says
“we should add a dozen movements but no more because this is not a fighting game”.

Anarchy reigns has (per character) a dozen normal combat movements, between 1 and 6 basic weapon movements,1 strong weapon movement,1/5 aerial movements, 1/5 aerial weapon movements, weak and strong charge, weak and strong charge with weapon (+ aditional cinematic with extra
damage if you strike them properly), upper attack, low attack, low attack with weapon, evade, block, 360 attack, 2 grabs/ 1 double grab+ charge double grab and the rage mode. You can also use power ups and
grab shit from the map and drive vehicles.

I know anarchy reigns doesn’t have a varied combat, i used that game as an example because the campaign is musou esque (with less enemies) and even with a lacking diversity of movements stills tremendously satisfying to do what in most musou games is tedious as fuck (and i already explained you how).

And i used bayonetta as an example because even being a hack’n slash it has almost double (i would say even more) combat movements than dmc3 (whose combat diversity is leagues beyond what others of its genre have
to offer). If i had asked somebody for a dmc3 with the amount of combos of bayonetta then what? should i have asked for a fighting game too?
such monstruous amount of combat diversity was unthinkable before bayonetta came out.

Look dude, english is not my language and im not good at expresing myself beyond “I…WANT….A….MUSOU….GAME…..WITH

And i dont like figthing games.”

          there, all for you.

          • also im gonna post this little paragraph belonging to the post you answered with “dude,LMAO, this is not a figthing game RONFL, what you want it’s a figthing game LOL,just because you press the same buttons? loloolololo”

“there is no weight in a single one of those hits (i know that anarchy reigns it’s not a musou game, at all, but beating the crap out of the little hordes of mooks in the single player campaign was extremely enjoyable just because of that, the weight of the movements, how the enemies reacted, seeing them fall like flies with every punch instead of staying there
            like ruber dolls)”

        • The truth is that beyond the demos of dynasty warriors and ken’s rage the only musou like game(musou “LIKE”) i have played is kingdom under fire (crusaders, i always wanted to play the “heroes” one but i never found the damn game), and even that game had more satisfying combat. I don’t know how to explain this, it’s like some kind of “soul” or special something that all this “musou” games seem to lack………….or again maybe it was that kingdom under fire, just like anarchy reigns, had weight in every hit you performed.

I expressed myself wrong with all that shit about combat diversity, it is more the “feel” of the combat what seems (and feels) lackluster.

    • OathkeeperSoraXIII

you’re still on about platinum games doing this? I had this discussion with you like 2 months ago lmao

      • Göran Isacson

Now I admit that I’m interested- what was that discussion all about? Like, was it even a discussion or was it mostly just angrish ranting?

        • OathkeeperSoraXIII

It was him saying he wanted the game with more combos and used Anarchy reigns as an example. He said he wanted the game to have more combos so I gave him the facts saying each character has around 18-20 combos /variations of attack, (just look up the move list for each character) and Anarchy reigns has probably about 10 combos if that. then he said it was easy to which I agreed with. Basically he wanted the game to be a fighting/hack & slash/action game not a musou game. which imo suits the OP franchise perfectly.

You’ve only gotta watch the enies lobby arc to know that straw hats take out a lot of enemies which is exactly the case with this game. he’s complaining for no other reason than self gain. He also has a thing for platinum games. I agree they’re good developers, but from what I’ve seen of them they can only do action/hack and slash games. I wouldn’t trust them with an anime game.

That’s basically the whole discussion in a nutshell minus him complaining about a genre he doesn’t understand (the Musou games)

          • Göran Isacson

Mmm, gotcha. I honestly find the musou “style” a good fit for One Piece, mostly for the reasons you mention- Strawhats take down whole ARMIES of mooks, and this suits that style. I will admit that the other Musou Manga game I played, Ken’s Rage, had some REALLY shoddy backgrounds and lack of variety, but honestly- judging by all the characters I’ve seen here and all the color, I think this game may beat Ken’s Rage in every way that matters.

          • OathkeeperSoraXIII

yeah, they really outdid themselves with the remodelled stages and re-texturing of them. considering it’s only been in development a year I think they’ve done a good job adding as many characters as they have and also changing up the gameplay slightly. They’ve also added 3 sides now, Allies, marines and pirates. check out the website for the game and go on the ‘mode’ section there’s some really interesting screenshots up

          • ” I wouldn’t trust them with an anime game.”
But that’s what all their games are, anime videogames.

  • heartless141

it looks great. i’m still a sucker for musou games and all. though the three kingdom theme has been pretty dull lately. last game i enjoyed was probably sengku basara utage. (the one before that was gundam musou 3, such horrible thing)

  • Just came to say that Robins hand looks deformed and she looks like a freaky alien in the thumbnail for this post.

    • TheExile285

      A sexy alien maybe

      • Nope. Not in the thumbnail.

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

They gave her her “Dos Manos: Clutch” move?! OP! OP!! She needs a nerfing ASAP!!!
In other news, both Smoker and Law look awesome and I’m surprised at Perona’s versatility in combat.

    • TheExile285

nerfing in an anime beat me up? What madness is this?

  • Adol Christin

Looks great. Need to see Vita footage….

    • TheExile285

I wish I knew Japanese so I could import the Vita version of this and God Eater 2

  • MyBodyIsReady

Looks like Dynasty Warriors had a baby with stretch arm-strong

  • TheExile285

Robin can clone herself now? That’s so badass

Can’t wait to play as Smoker!

  • Muffum

So Smoker has an all-out attack move?
    I’ve been waiting for this!

  • Göran Isacson

Damn, Smoker’s got some REACH with those smoke arms. And I’m still kinda surprised that Perona and Law made it in, you’d think they’d be so new that they hadn’t built up the popularity to warrant this kinda inclusion… guess they must be more popular than I thought.

  • revenent hell

When I first read this I just briefly glanced over it since im not a One Piece fan but when I read it, I read Perona as Persona and all I could think was “Persona in One piece….WTH?”

  • komiko12

Dos Fleur: Clutch should instantly K.O. most enemies.. :D
