Square Enix Trademarks Fantasy Village, Final Fantasy Life Sim In The Future?

imageLife simulation games are quite popular in Japan with Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Fantasy Life selling out in Japan. Maybe Square Enix is going to jump on the genre with Fantasy Village?

 

They registered a trademark for Fantasy Village in Japan for use with video games. Hmm… I wonder what a Final Fantasy farming game would look like… I guess players can plant Gysahl Greens?

    I would like a more medieval setting than futuristic or steampunk if it is that kind of game.

    If it is a Final Fantasy type game as a life sim I would hope it’s closer to Rune Factory then Harvest moon. Seems the most likely route anyway.

    I bet it will use the models from the SE Members page. Something about the name Fantasy Village makes me think its less Animal Crossing and more Farmville.

    Between on Final Fantasy XI’s crafts, hobbies, chocobo raising, etc. and Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, I can see some sort of sim working out pretty well.

      It’s not like you really want this game to begin with. So why do you care if it’s a mobile game or not. acting as if they turned the numbered series into a mobile game.

    I say social game, with the trend SE has been setting of late, but hey, I will be pleasantly surprised if its not a browser or mobile game, tho am not getting my Hype on just yet

    I just hope it’s an actual game so that I can listen to more remixed Final Fantasy tracks, yep. That’s the only reason I buy the side games.

    This could be 100% awesome if it’s for consoles or just utter micro transaction garbage.

    Given their latest statements about focusing less on social bs I have some hope for this. Rune Factory is nice but at points it lacks that triple A polish in game mechanics and animations that SE could pull off.
