Use The Samurai Class To Fight Waves Of Dragons In 7th Dragon 2020-II

Some of the simplest-looking dragons can be the deadliest when they attack in waves. Sega explains the Dragon Intrusion system and a closer look at the Samurai class of 7th Dragon 2020-II.

7th Dragon 2020-II lets you see enemies on the field, but looks can be deceiving. When you first start a fight against a dragon on the field, any nearby dragons may join the fight after a certain amount of turns. This can turn into quite the situation at times, such as the above picture showing multiple dragons nearby. This special feature shared amongst dragons is called the Dragon Intrusion system.

Exterminating dragons will be a tough task. In order to do it, you’ll need all the help you can get from the members of Murakumo. Character create will allow you to make your own members of Murakumo, by having 5,040 different character combinations which includes looks, voice and job classes.

We recently got a look at Izumi Sakuraba, the Samurai equivalent of the American special unit forces, SECT11. Here’s a look at Murakumo’s Samurai:

Samurai Class

019 020 021

016 017 018

022 023 024

The Samurai are S rank in physical ability. The class consists of youths talented at handling the blade. They excel at basic attacks and being able to attack all enemies. They can even learn recovery and support skills, making them the perfect all-rounder class.

In order to use the Samurai’s special ability, you’ll first have to activate the Exhaust command by filling up its gauge which is increased by taking damage or critical hitting.

Once the Exhaust gauge is filled and activated, you can unleash the Samurai’s special attack “Heaven and Earth Slash” to attack all enemies and follow it up with a bleeding effect that continuously decreases the their health afterwards.

7th Dragon 2020-II is slated for release on April 18th for PSP.

and of course no eu date…
    share the love sega? please?

    • Sega hasn’t really released anything in the west as of late, so I don’t understand why you were expecting a release date for anywhere other than Japan?

  • AnimeLeirus .

    Those look awesome!

  • Brandonmkii

All of my meseta to be able to play this in English some day!

  • Prinny Dood

Ill use the samurai class only if you guys localize it ;)

    • I will use every class available in the game over a multiple playthrough if this or 2020 gets localize.

  • Aristides

Seriously Sega, licence your games to other companies in the west. I mean comeon if nintendo did it you sure as hell can.

    • xXDGFXx

Who did nintendo license their games to?

      • Aristides

XSEED with Xenoblade, last Story and Pandora’s tower. All three games were nintendo games but they let XSEED localize and publish them in the west.

        • WarioFan63

XSeed only did Last Story and Pandora’s Tower, and that was only in America. They’re based on the EU copies that Nintendo had already did over there, so they didn’t have much in the way of translation duties.

          • Aristides

Ah I see, thanks for pointing that out.

    • THIS. If Sega don’t feel like doing it why not let someone else does it?

  • Odd, in 7th Dragon 2020 you could also fill up the Exhaust gauge by using normal attacks or skills – it doesn’t have to be a critical hit.

    • Raze

I remember that too…Maybe they changed it now??

  • Without any hesitation I can say that 7th Dragon 2020 is THE JRPG that the West really should have gotten/be getting.

It was a ton of fun to play, an excellent mix of all the requisite JRPG components that just felt right.

It’s really nice to see that the’re even adding palette changes for the character portraits/models. 7D2020II is the RPG I’ve been waiting for and I expect it to be one of my favorite games of the year.

The only downside really is that it is for the PSP and note the Vita. And that’s really only a complaint because I have a hard time reading some of the denser kanji at PSP resolution.

Ladies and Gentlemen, yet another Japan-only series.

It’s too bad the PSP is effectively dead in the US, now with the Vita around.

    • Sylveria

Too bad the Vita is effectively dead in the US.

      • Esperia Lastfold

Aye… Too bad both portables are dead in the US.

*Looks at own VITA begging to not be sold*

        • Just Tim

This is one of the times that SCEA frustrates me.

  • I can’t use the Samurai class because you won’t localize the game SEGA lol

  • Yuriangels

gob, who’s soul do i have to take to get this game in american!!! XD
