Damn, August. Yaay Dragon’s Crown but nooo college starts back up! It will be a bittersweet feeling.

  • Scarletmoonwish

So stoked for this game, have the same fell of Odin Spear so its a must buy.

  • sandra10

Same day as Xillia. Dang. First world problems and all that junk. :/

  • Go2hell66

    Ouch right next to XiIllia

on the plus side this means i’ll have plenty of time to enjoy muramasa

  • DesmaX

… Sorry Atlus, but ToX is priority for me. I’ll try to pick this up on a later date

    • Go2hell66

its actually the opposite for for me, i couldn’t really imagine skipping either of these titles but if it comes down to it i’ll get dragon’s crown 1st

    • Learii

I buying both ToX and this

      • ThunderGod_Cid

        Same here.

I’ve had Xillia on preorder since March and Dragon’s Crown since last summer. Can’t imagine skipping out on either of them.

    • michel

For me, priority goes to this. I also plan to get Xillia, but later.

  • I haven’t been playing much on my PS3 lately but that will definitely change in August.

  • Sentsuizan_93

    What about an EU release?

    • thank god ps3 allows multiple accounts, will be the US version from the store then :3

      • If it gets a store release—which it likely will, of course.

  • Vesperion

    August 6th? Dragon of Xillia

I’m excited, but what I want to know is how can some indie titles get cross-buy, cross-play and cross-save done, but a game developed by a professional studio can’t at least do cross-play?

    • In the case of Cross-Buy: It’s because indie games tend to be smaller in scope and cost far less to develop. Indies use Cross-Buy as a promotional tool to drum up word of mouth for their game. It helps their game stand out.

Professional devs, on the other hand, can’t exactly do that, since their games are often much larger in scope and cost more to develop. They’d lose money by giving away a version of their game for free.

      • SpecDotSign

I understand why no Cross-Buy, but no Cross-Play? That’s dumb. To me it seems like yet another Japanese developer behind in the times. This game was announced years ago. To not have that feature implemented in 2013 is dumb. It appears that they intended to use the cross-save feature, but didn’t think about cross-play.

  • MrRobbyM

Is there a cross buy for this or whatever they call it?

    • Draparde

Probably not. that’s more than likely going to be only for sony’s own games.

    • TheExile285

      No, there is not.

Cross-Buy only happens with 1st Party titles and some DD only games (mostly Indie).

  • LegendaryLos

Very happy about this. Will be purchasing PS3 and Vita versions.

  • AdachiTohru

And Europe ? I would like a box version in europe… I will buy 10000 copies if you want

    • landlock

I would have said Rising Star Games but they seem to be very quiet lately. Think I’m just going to import the US Vita version.

Looks like I’m spending $150 on August 6, then.

  • TheExile285

Looking forward to this. The Vita version will be mine!

I hope they do a vid on Elf next.

  • z_merquise

I hope Atlus also include the artbook like in their Japanese release.

  • JustThisOne

I’m stoked. It’s been awhile since I’ve played a good beat-em-up with friends.

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Amazon updated with this date a while ago, but I’m glad it’s now officially confirmed. I really hope there’s a LE for this (art book is a must), but either way, I have my pre-order for both versions. Come on August!

  • KuchikiSentou

Atlus, please bring to Europe within reasonable time.

Remember, we still don’t have Persona4Arena as of now..

  • benhofb

Hmm… The fact that the cross-platform multiplayer is missing kinda bums me out. I get the feeling the Vita’s online community will be small… Guess its just ad-hoc for me.

    • vileBrenman

      don’t underestimate the vita community!

      • benhofb

I shall! The Vita is struggling in the states; not many people own one. And the people who do own one may not be playing this. As beautiful and magnificent as Dragon’s Crown is, I doubt the people who bought the Vita for “Call of Duty-on-the-go” will be playing Dragon’s Crown online with me. (Don’t worry Brendan. I will still play online with you all the time!)

        • vileBrenman

Aha but if we all buy the vita version then the lobbies will fill up. EVERYONE BUY THE VITA VERSION. let’s show them the vita has.support

  • KK

Sadly, I am waiting until it drops to it’s original price of $29.99. I had it pre-ordered through Amazon, but then when ATLUS came in, they bumped the price up $20 to $49.99 and canceled everyone’s pre-order. Not only that, but there aren’t even any awesome pre-order bonuses with the game. Seems like a wasted opportunity.

    • Armane

I didn’t even realise they could do that on Amazon. I’ve never seen it happen before at least. But I agree, heck I thought this was going to be cross-buy, so really that’s a $60 mark up. No excuses for not supporting cross-play though, especially with the delay.

Oh well, when it comes out in Europe next year for full price (and probably DL only) I’ll still get it day one.

  • Visa Vang

So in the end, they couldn’t deliver cross-platforming. Great.

  • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Such a shame that there won’t be any crossplay~.

  • Aunna Terrell

Looks like I’m getting both Xillia and this on August 6th~ I can’t wait! :3

  • KingGunblader

Two Japanese action-RPGs enter, one leaves. Who will be the champion? Find out at your local games retailer on August 6th. :/

    • Brandonmkii

They’re really different games though, it’s unfair to compare them.

      • KingGunblader

I really want to get both, but I’m not sure I can since I already pre-ordered the Xillia CE… Really wish there was a cross-buy option but I’ll probably get the Vita version since it’s cheaper anyway.

        • raymk

You can always get Dragon crown later on, don’t give namco another reason to whine and get mad at tales fans when we are finally getting games.

  • Full game price? I hope it is really long and have much content…

    • Brion Valkerion

Its only full price on vita

  • Brandonmkii

I guess I need to see if any of my Vita friends are getting this, otherwise it’s PS3 or bust.

  • Awww, a little disappointed, but that’s ok. I guess I’ll just get the PS3 version then.

  • Bablioteca

as excited as i am to play this, i still cannot help feeling bitter toward this title for essentially costing us Grand Knight’s History… such mixed feelings!

    • raymk

They knew more people wanted this than grand knights history. GNH was also a psp game which wouldn’t have made them anything but loses on atlus part.

  • Kevin Schwarz

Since this is my kind of game, sounds like this wins over my Xillia’s money then.

  • gamefreak86

Preordered both versions on Amazon. For my Canadian brethren the ps3 version is 40 right now, so go preorder if you haven’t.

  • Erwin MadJelly

Well Kinda disappointed in the cross play unable to function. But oh well I still got my friend to play with on the VITA

  • T-X

They just pulled a MHU3, luckily I only have a PS3 or I’d be really hurting to choose between the two. Even though I’d rather get the vita version. This game seems made for a portable.
