fireproNear the tail end of the PS2’s lifecycle, Agetec picked up Fire Pro Wresting Returns and localized it for North America. The sprite wrestler will suplex its way to PlayStation 3 later today when Sony Computer Entertainment America re-releases Fire Pro Wrestling as a PS2 Classic. Check out our interview with the producer of Fire Pro Wrestling here.

Most surprised to see that Agetec was able to hold the Fire Pro Wrestling license for so long since the game is actually from Spike – now Spike Chunsoft. I wonder if they still have the rights to Disaster Report or Raw Danger. While Raw Danger has a bizarre localization, it’s a pretty amusing game.

i would like to see disaster report and raw danger as psn classics

I love Firepro on PS2. I probably spent more time making custom wrestlers and just watching them fight than actually playing myself. A Vita version would be perfection….

Huh. Isn’t this that series where Suda 51 wrote one of the games and got massive controversy due to his ending?

    • katamari damacy

He wrote one of the earlier fire pros that had an actual story mode. The ending HE wrote was one where the wrestler got so depressed and committed suicide. That’s a total bummer of an ending.

CPU Logic % in Fire Pro is the last piece of the puzzle WWE games should have.
Disaster Report is dead as a series due to the Japanese Earthquake. DR4 is completed and rotting in some hard drive because it’s still ‘too soon’
