I would have preferred Persona 4 Arena, since i already have BB on the vita, but still, this is good news for those who don’t

    • RichyGaming

Persona 4 Arena is a very good game. But I think BlazBlue is better. And yet not many players play it or at least not from i’ve seen in the vita. I think this was a good idea to make it free, see if more people will start coming in this time around. But damn they should have put it for PS3 as well :(

      • cameron forsyth

ah yeah i saw the same thing with VLR, the demo got poor ratings and the game was generally bashed over here due to the rep visual novels get from ‘quote’ “reviewers” but this give-away has given it some well deserved appreciation.

same with blazblue, good game and this should help introduce fighting games in general to casual players.

        • RichyGaming

Sorry for asking this but what’s VLR? Virtue’s Last Reward popped out of my head when I read that, am I correct?
          Edit: NEVER MIND!

  • Epitome

i was so close to buying it for the Vita but i decided to wait good thing i did now got it for Vita too

    EU May PSN+ Update:
    PS3 :
    1 May: Hitman Absolution
    1 May: Catherine ++++++++++++
    1 May: Malicious

    PS Vita :
    – Sine Mora (8 May)
    – Velocity Ultra HD (15 May)

I only care for those two Vita Games on that list. Catherine is meh, in my book. And the US already has Malicious. So, only Hitman Absolution seems to be the big title in the PS3 side, which I am sure the US will get later on this year.

In any case, I think we have a tie for both sides in this month’s PS+!

What does it mean if a game “leaves” PS+?

    • drproton

You no longer have the opportunity to add a game to your library.

    • XiaomuArisu

If you didnt “bought” it til it leaves its gone.
If you “bought”it,then it will be yours forever!
Only if you still PS+,if your membership expire you cant play it.But if you renew your membership its playable again.

    • Sakurazaki

Thx for the replies to both of you :)

  • fireemblembeast

A FREE Blazblue game?! Holy crap, that’s awesome! How can you make something that great free? X)

    • Mike Pureka

Uh. By not actually making it free, and just giving away a month long free trial to people who pay for the privilege? I mean, that’s pretty much how PSN+ works…

      • fireemblembeast

        Ok, Mr.Literal… >_>;

      • Vanadise

That’s not really how it works. After it’s marked as “free” for PSN+ members, once you “buy” it in the store (you don’t even have to download it right away), you can download & play it for free as long as you have a PSN+ subscription, even after the game’s “free” status is removed.

I’m sure that ASW will be getting some money from Sony for it, and they’re hoping that the cut they get from the PSN+ subscription fees will be greater than the amount they’d earn by selling the game at its normal price for this month.

I wonder if Plus is going to hurt software sales for Sony’s consoles if it ever becomes really popular. Their Vita lineup is definitely making me consider going Plus only except for the odd game every now and then. I’d do the same for the PS3 if I didn’t buy most HD games during Steam sales.

  • shadowind

You Americans are lucky bastards getting Blazblue on Vita for free (Then again, we got Hitman Blood Money, Malicious and Catherine for free in Europe this month on PSPlus!

    • megacool

We had Malicious since april, for some reason, don’t care bout Catherine.

  • gamefreak86

Sweet. have the original PSP version but this is nice.

  • Shane Guidaboni

Hmm, I thought about getting PSN plus just to get this, but the the newest version coming out soon what’s the point?

    • RichyGaming

Well, the new one isn’t releasing until October 24, so that’s like 5 months from now.

    • http://www.youtube.com/Lyonharvestmoonfan Eduardo Rocha

What Richy said and the fact that there are other free games you could download, even if you don’t even care about the games you could try them out for free and if you like them, just keep playing them.

      • RichyGaming

Yeah that’s true. I don’t have PSN plus but i’ve been thinking about getting it, because it sounds like they give good treats to players :D (cough, Disgaea FREE, cough, BLAZBLUE?! OADINBFADOFIBNbonerDOIBFNADOIBFN)

        • http://www.youtube.com/Lyonharvestmoonfan Eduardo Rocha

Disgaea isn’t available anymore, though, it was exclusive to April.

          • RichyGaming

Oh, I didn’t know it ended so soon. Sorry about that haha.

    • Sekai-jin

Get 3 months of Plus for $17.99.. Just under $6/month

If you the type that play a game until the end, then put it inside the closet for a long time and forget it exist, PSN is better choice. Cheaper, and you get to play it for 3 months.

There are possibility during the next two month another AA/AAA title will be available for free (like Demon Soul, Disgea, Sleeping Dogs, Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush in the past), and PSN Plus get you discount for some other games too.

      • Guest

pls correct me here will ya?
so what your saying is if I get plus I can dl this game no trail but the full game and play offline for keeps?
        (sorry for asking like this)

        • Mr_SP

For as long as you’re a PS Plus subscriber. If you choose not to renew your Plus subscription, then the game will stop working. And, yes, full version, not the trial. (If you get it at a discount, so that you’re paying some amount of money, even as little at $1, then you get it, regardless of your Plus subscription, but not the ones marked “+Free”.)

And, no, you *don’t* need to be signed in to the PSN to play games made available through Plus.

    • Mike Pureka

You do realize that the newest version is coming in to JAPAN in OCTOBER, right? Maybe you have a very different idea of “Soon” than I do, but five months before you can even import the game doesn’t sound like “soon” to me.

  • Tsunamori Nanashi

Yeah guys, don’t worry, you don’t need to localize the PSP version of Extend, no one will care about it.

    Gravity Rush
    MGS HD Collection
    Blazblue

I bought all these games. Now they’re free …. UNBELIEVABLE!

    • megacool

Looks like they’re bringing games that came out when the vita came. Or just games of last year

  • zero254

And I was being bugged to buy this.

    Ha.

    I win this round.

  • Neppygear

Does this mean people are actually going to be online for once? /wishfulthinking

    • RichyGaming
