Ninja Theory’s next game is a free-to-play brawler for Android devices, titled Fightback. The game is being published by Chillingo, an Electronic Arts subsidiary.

“Ninja Theory’s Fightback is a thrilling free-to-play action game with a striking 80s action movie vibe and a revolutionary touch-based combat system,” EA’s description reads.

“Chillingo is very excited to collaborate with such a talented, critically-acclaimed studio to help shape their first title for the mobile market,” states Ed Rumley, COO, Chillingo. “Our team is working closely with Ninja Theory to ensure Fightback delivers a phenomenal experience for mobile and tablet devices.”

Fightback is scheduled for release this Summer. EA will be bringing the game to E3 next month, with additional details to follow in the coming months leading up to launch.

Well if this is their new home, quite frankly, I won’t miss em. Ninja Theory hasn’t made a game I’ve thoroughly enjoyed yet. While DMC was MUCH better than their previous efforts, it still fell short to me.

    • Nettacki

That says a lot considering that “much better” still doesn’t match the previous games except 2.

      • The-Beast

IMO it just doesn’t match 3.

          Or 4 gameplay wise.

They’re the guys who did kung fu chaos on the original xbox right? I enjoyed that as a 4-player party game a tonne. It was great fun.

        Kung-Fu Chaos…. I loved playing it as a kid.

  • In my opinion they need to release Heavenly Sword 2 and make it very good, after all it defines that company

  • VitaminC

“and a revolutionary touch-based combat system”

    That is very doubtful…

  • Nitraion

  • Ferrick

next up, Tameem Antoniades is seen with the same haircut as the main character…

  • Solomon_Kano

And here I was actually interested in seeing what they did next. The hell is this?

An omen to a depressing future of gaming?

    Serves them right.

    Extremely overrrated developer.

  • Heavenly_King

Even though I was not happy with the DmC reboot, This is a bit extreme. I was hoping they could eventually do HS2 or a reboot of the HS franchise, so that is has a new beginning in the PS4.

  • i never though of it, it’s funny, actually Ninja Theory should only make mobile games, because quality of their games is not higher than that..
