Solve The Mystery Behind The Two Silhouettes In Sony’s Rain

By Ishaan . June 1, 2013 . 3:30pm

Sony Computer Entertainment shared a new trailer this week for Rain, an upcoming game from PlayStation CAMP for PlayStation 3. In Rain, you play as a boy chasing after a girl in a world of rain, where they’re both invisible. The only time they can be seen is when their silhouettes are outlined by the rainfall.

Sony say the world of Rain is haunted by ghostly creatures, and a number of the locations you visit will involve trying to avoid the enemies you run into.

Rain is slated for release in Fall 2013. Sony will share more information on the game at E3.

    Reminds me strongly of ICO.

…Speaking of which, where the hell is The Last Guardian!?

    • Aoshi00

Reminds me of the more recent Papo & Yo too (still haven’t beat that yet), but more elegant. I keep thinking of Kevin Bacon’s Hollow Man though :) Can’t wait for this & Mamoru-kun Curse.

The Last Guardian & FF13VS have been on my Amazon pre-order page since November 25, 2009 (I pre-ordered them w/ a Thanksgiving $10 Discover card discount that year @ $46.99 each). I guess by now they would be out when they are out, so I’m not holding my breath at all, probably on PS4.. so my pre-orders might be canceled eventually :(…

Amazon has already pulled their pre-order offer for Versus XIII though. They only direct you to other retailers now.

I see, that’s nuts.. Still on my preorder page though. Just unbelievable these two games are still nowhere to be seen after so long, so i’ve given up waiting entirely. Guess it would be like them canceling the $30 ignition dragon s crown before once it changed to Atlus..

Lovely trailer with a lot of little things that remind me of a Team ICO title. I hope it makes an appearance at E3 this year. Definitely looking forward to it.

    • It will likely make an appearance.

One of the games show ad Gamescon last year, I was looking forward to playing

  • I like the storyline, but how’s the gameplay is going to be? A visual novel? At first it remind of Fragile Dreams for the Wii, but I dunno :s

    • Man your english is horrible sorry, but seriously. As for gameplay it won’t be a Vn as you can see from the trailer. It is an action/adventure/platform game. Similar to ICO, I can’t really remember Fragile Dreams but it might be like that?

      • lol Sorry, I learned english by myself and still have a lot to learn. I never played ICO, soooo I’ll have to look it up and see how this game is going to be.

        • Remove is between “gameplay” and “going”. Added ed to “remind” and the message would sound fairly decent. So not bad considering you learned English by yourself. What is your native language? And ICO is seriously awesome. The story and gameplay and the artsy graphics. It is a pretty nice game.

          • My native language is spanish :3

          • Ah. My Spanish is meh at best, but I know more than most. lol

          • Muy genial! I’m actually doing the opposite of what you are doing, hehe :D I’m a native English speaker and I’m learning to speak Spanish by myself. To add to what Auragar said, all of your grammar problems in that first message seems to be related to past/present/future tenses. You need to add “ed” to the end of “remind” because you’re talking about something that happened in the past, or like you said “At first…”. Also you need to say “me” after “reminded” because you need to indicate who was being reminded, so “At first it reminded me of…”. It’s kind of like “recordarme de…”

          • I see, thanks a lot!

  • Robert Kupper

I am a little disappointed in the invisibility effect actually. Its a neat idea, but to me it looks more like he is translucent-grey when under the rain, rather than that we are actually seeing the rain impacting on his invisible frame.

I will be looking at this in the days to come, but I think they missed the visual aspect for me. I really liked fragile dreams, I agree with people that this looks similar.
