Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F Coming To The West This August

By Ishaan . June 6, 2013 . 8:00am

It’s official—PlayStation 3 rhythm game Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F is headed to the U.S. and Europe, and you’ll even get to try the game out before its release.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F will be available as both a retail packaged game as well as a download title in the U.S., and as a download-only game in Europe. Like the Japanese version, it will include all of the updated graphics, additional songs and features that were added over the original PlayStation Vita release.

That’s 38 songs, including ones like “Tell Your World” and “BlackRock Shooter”. You can also create and share your own Miku videos in the game’s Edit Mode, and customize Miku and co. with over 90 costumes and 100 accessories.

You’ll be able to try a demo of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F on June 11th in the U.S. and June 12th in Europe via the PlayStation Network. The full game’s release will follow two months later.

The news comes a few months following Sega’s Facebook push for the game, where they attempted to gauge overseas interest in the title and encouraged fans to spread the word.

“Your voices helped make this happen.” said Aaron Webber, Associate Brand Manager for the game. “Miku and SEGA fans, this is your moment. We’re thrilled to bring this title out for you, and we’re counting on your support. Tell Your World!

We’ve covered Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F in great detail, so if you’d like to learn more about the different songs and features in the game, look through its tag.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F will be available this August in the U.S and Europe.

    What a twist.

I’ll see when i get this.. too many other gaems coming out.

    • CirnoTheStrongest

You can always get the PSN release later down the road if it comes to that ;)

  • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Completely impressed by SEGA with this, hope it gains tons of support!

  • August isn’t a good month for a release, Xillia and Dragon’s Crown will have my attention

    • CirnoTheStrongest

      Screw those!

This is a groundbreaking moment in history! Choose Miku!

      • I would but i already have the Japanese versions for Vita and PS3 :/

        • CirnoTheStrongest

Ah, well, you could always get the PSN release down the road, or if there’s still physical copies left, go for that later on too.

          • Yeah i’ll probably get it

    • Demeanor

      Get ALL! Mandatory! XD

  • Highasthesky

So again Vita gets screwed….One Piece….Miku….a sad day indeed.

    • Manny Being Manny

I’m a Vita owner and I’d rather get the PS3 version. Its better.

      • Highasthesky

Good for you,i hope you enjoy your experience. I’ll be over here, crying in a corner.

  • DesmaX

oooooooh, shit. One more game I want in August

  • Kai2591

  • YES!!!!

  • Mister_Nep

I’m so excited for an English release! The demo is kinda useless though since I own the full Japanese title. I guess the JP version can count as my demo until the English version releases.

  • Muffum

Any word on price, out of curiosity?

  • Leon_Tekashi

Holy s**t. Sega did it…They actually did it! Way to go Sega! *thumbs up*

    • Maijun Jamdee

I had my doubts, but THEY ACTUALLY DID IT!!! *dies of fangirl attack*

  • Anime10121

Now this, THIS is completely unexpected! Never thought I’d see the day when a Miku game was released in the west! Not getting it, cuz I’m not really a Vocaloid fan (Miku’s the only one I know), but I’m extremely excited for everyone that is anticipating this :)

    • CirnoTheStrongest

Give the demo a try. You might end up liking it.

      • Anime10121

Oh, I’m definitely gonna try the demo, as I never give up the chance to try out new experiences through demos (tried the Idol Master demo when it released in Japan too). But it really just doesnt seem to be something I’ll likely get into, but hey who knows, maybe it’ll surprise me.

        • Demeanor

She’s a master at bewitching people… when I first saw Project Diva 2nd I was like “not a chance in HELL I’ll even consider this!”, now I can’t live without her voice XD

    • JoJo_649

Raises the hopes for a Jojo’s Bizzarre Adventure All Star Battle american release!!

  • Kai2591

Now lets show our support by buying it!

I wonder if the songs will show English subtitles? hmmmm…

    • CirnoTheStrongest

      Of course they will

      • Patrick McAleer

I don’t think so look at this link:

It shows screenshots but the lyrics are just romaji instead of English.

        Still better than nothing :)

        • Bruno Cesar

That’s way better than english translated lyrics, actually.

        • Kai2591

hmm well that’s alright I guess.

But would’ve been nice if there are subs. Maybe there will be an option to do so? We’ll see in the demo.

    • fireemblembeast

I would hope so…I mean, the JP lyrics are there, so it would take minimal effort to add them in as well. I don’t mind either way.

  • DAT Bird From DAT Cage

Are you guys happy that its only a PS3 release? Wouldn’t you wanna play a rhythm based game on a portable device?

Vita owners got screwed over again.

    • Highasthesky

I think you and me are alone on this. The others are very happy, try not to ruin their fun. (T^T)

      • Albert Calderon

The same way I feel :<

    • Keima88

Dont worry when the sales are good on the ps3 they will consider the vita version too :)

    • CirnoTheStrongest

PS3 version is the Superior version. I feel no loss

    • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

It’s sad (and ironic) since the Vita version was shown at E3 last year and started this campaign for localization.

    • Kevadu

I already imported the Vita version, but yeah I feel the games are better in a portable format. While I never did get F, I do have Dreamy Theater 2 but I never played it nearly as much as the portable titles.

    • Lacie

Although my boyfriend has a PS3 I would have been happy if they released the Vita version as well. :<

  • Keima88

There is no way. There is no freaking way! Am I still sleeping?!

Hell yeah! Dont worry you wont regret this Sega! I will buy the DL and import the USA version!

    • Kai2591

      DL AND the physical copy?!

You must be the real Gaming God Keima! ;)

      • Keima88

I am nothing compared to the real one :P

But like him games are my life, energy and sustenance too ^^.

        • Kai2591

          haha Keima be proud ^^

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Is this real life? Sega actually listened to its fans?! What kind of bizzaro world is this?!!! O.o

Disappointed it’s not on the Vita for the west, but I’ll take it!

  • Sentsuizan_93

    *checks wallet*
    Yep, i’m gonna be broke.

    • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

You I and me both. You know what they say, “Misery loves company.”

    • jonsoh

Agreed. The rational part of me says that I already imported this, but the other part of me wants it in English and to support localizations like these. First world problems.

Probably going to buy it anyways…

  • Jungo

What. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. I wasn’t going to import the game but now that they’re localizing it I HAVE to buy it to encourage them.

  • As much as I should be glad it’s coming out in the west, I’m really not happy about the downloadable only in Europe. The last thing I need is to wait half a day for the game to download (thanks to my family constantly streaming movies and unstable wireless connection) and complication I have buying PSN code and possibly having leftover cash. I might have to skip this

    • niko

Why not import the japanese one then? It’s not as expensive now and you really don’t need to read japanese to play and enjoy this.

    • Klarktastic

just get the US release, I usually order from videogamesplus.ca myself.

    • wyrdwad

PS3 is region-free for disc games, remember. You can always import!

      • I know I could but i would like to support the European market.

    • What problems do you have with PSN codes? I get my from GAME’s online site for instant redeeming.

      • Buying from them is always a hassle, I have to call them because I never receive my code after ordering. I know the code suppose show on the page after ordering but yeah that never happen.

        • Strange, very strange. I always get the code emailed to me.

  • Laith Rem

Please don’t release it at the beginning of August. You already have two niche games already. I don’t want to decide between the three.

  • TruSpindash

    I don’t own a PS3 yet, but I am pre-ordering this the second pre-orders go up.

  • XiaomuArisu

Its a Miracle all hail Miku!!!

  • Lehiko

Man… so happy I imported the vita version and held off on the ps3 version.

  • Boku

Why download-only in Europe, Sega? I’d rather pay the extra cost and import a physical copy.

    • Farid Belkacemi

      You and me both !

    • Shizumasa

Count me in. I’ll do that as well.

  • Raze

    Ah they left the Vita…

Well…I’ll just skip it then because I already has the Jap one…
Hopefully for the next Diva to get the same treatment like this…

  • notentirelythere

Whoo, and bwugh! Arcade rhythm games are better for me in a pick-up-and-play, portable format. I could also do with twenty more dollars.
Nitpick: adjusting lag settings as my first experience with a game, instead of jamming out, isn’t so hot for me.
    Still excited, though.

  • Oh phuck yeah! >_<

  • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owl

    Good to hear.

I already got the Vita version, but I will take this into consideration since I’m getting a PS3 down the road and it’s retail.

  • The Watcher

She was in that progressive commercial so i figured it was only a matter of time.

  • Learii

first miku game in usa omg

  • AnimeRemix

Looks like I’ll buy buying the retail version! =) (Just pre-ordered SMT IV, so now I need to get some cash together for this~!)

  • Go2hell66

this is just the year of insane localisations isn’t it?

    • Leon_Tekashi

It would be even more insane if Senran Kagura gets localized. Just saying.

      • michel

OK, but there are also less insane games to localize…

        • D H

That’s cool. Next year can be the sane licences. Let’s just keep this insane streak going six more months at least, yeah? On a side note… if this really does sell well, and those iOS [email protected] stuff does okay, there’s a chance there, right, Namco Bandai?

      • CirnoTheStrongest

Nah, I’d consider this more insane personally.

    • Alex

Great ,now SEGA should localize yakuza 5.

    • SupaPhly

      all I want is Yakuza 5 ;_;

    • Kitestwinblades

      The year of INSANITY (◎_◎)
Everyone is just doing the unthinkable now, In EVERYTHING!
I don’t know if my heart can take next week xD

    • Sakurazaki

      Waiting for PSO2

    • DyLaN

If EX Trooper and Extra CCC/another few more PSP RPG is localized then It will be insane (to me)

      • EX Trooper won’t happen due to hard coding.

  • CirnoTheStrongest

Sega, you have PWNED Namco! They ruined the [email protected] release horribly, but you’re awesome and didn’t stick it to a mobile platform, and are giving us the superior version! Thank you SOOOOOO MUCH! (really need to get around to posting this on Sega’s FB)

  • Neppygear

IT’S KIND OF A bummer it’s download-only in Europe, but that’s what importing is for!

  • I’ll try that demo out to see what the craze in Japan is all about but it does seem interesting. consider me getting a copy IF the demo impresses me.

  • chobitsza

Now, that’s one good step though.

  • SirRichard

It’s actually happening, I had to read the title on the front page twice for it to actually register. Who could’ve guessed that Sega, of all companies, would give something like this a shot?

Definitely going to give it a shot, because this sort of thing needs to be encouraged!

  • pridesin

I love you Sega. I cannot believe that this is actually happening.

  • Brandonmkii

Was not ready for a physical release. GJ, Sega.

    • heartless141

      that’s what she said.

  • Haku_Luvs_You

Great news! I love my vocaloids, but this one will have to wait. I already own it, and Mirai 2 is supposed to be coming this fall so that takes first priority. Unless they do a Limited Edition in which case I have no choice but to get it :)

  • Zikrayrus “Zikk” Dis Pear

Huh, it actually happened. Although I would prefer that it comes for Vita as well though.

Now I would actually have a use for that discount pass my friend gave me after he imported PDF.

  • Rini11

    Day one buy for me=)

  • Crazy_O

Now all that is left is PSO2 and SEGA will make this a great year!

  • Elvick

I don’t really want it on PS3. Like… at all.

    • epy

I read that in a tsundere voice. What is wrong with me?

      • CirnoTheStrongest

        They’re totally tsundereing it up!

    • DyLaN

      I’m curious, why?

      • Elvick

        At least you asked.

I just don’t have any desire to play a rhythm game anchored down to my tv. I think they’re just more fun to play anywhere, and in the palm of my hands.

Had Sega released this on both Vita and PS3, I’d have supported them by buying both. Now I won’t be buying it at all.

  • kenshinx13

as awesome as this is… i imported this game less than a week ago x.x *slaps self*

  • katzedan

    awesome news.
If only I know this would have happened someday, I would not get the japanese version :(

but well, if I can, I’ll get this one too… Sega really deserves all my money after this! xD

  • Okay.. this and Xillia will be the games I get in August. I am so excited that I have to go make a plethora of sticky notes to remind myself, XD

  • mojack411

    Now if only I had a PS3 :(

  • OlimacFTW

Wow! That was unexpected.. But at the same time, that is great!
I just hope this is only the first game and the rest (f and mirai) will come eventually.

  • epy

Thank you Sega but… Yakuza 1&2 and Yakuza 5 are also needed. Please?

  • Raharu95

    This… is actually happening? O_o

  • Raika Souku

Tell me where i can pre-order this shit now!

  • ElectroOtaku

    Awwww no Vita version :(

  • WHAT!? OH… OH hell yes!! Zomg!!! I can’t take thiiiiiiiisssss….!?
I’m sorry. I just can’t believe this. *burst into happy tears* The amount saved in not having to import this Oh EM Geee… I love you. Where do I pre-order (O_ O )

  • AkuLord3

Played the demo and enjoyed it and while i’m not crazy big on rhythm games, i’m going support it to show Sega this wasn’t a mistake to do

  • MrTyrant

“Your voices helped make this happen.”

Now I want more Valkyria Chronicles and Yakuza 5. Hope some kind of confirmation in the future.

    • doubleO7

They’ve teased an E3 announcement for Yakuza 5 already. But unless VC3 gets a Vita port, I really don’t see them bringing over any more PSP games. I’d love to be wrong though…

      • MrTyrant

        VC HD collection for ps3.

      • DyLaN

Vita port for the 7D2020 series……

  • Ryan Chiu

No f**king way… At long last, Project Diva is localized!

  • neetloaf

I really hope those 25,000 people who liked that Miku Facebook thing follow through now, otherwise I’m gonna have to buy 25,000 copies.

    • XiaomuArisu

You only need to buy 24.999 copies.
      I will help you!

      • yo1234

I’ll buy this if idol neptunia pp isn’t brought over~ or announced by then.

        • Anonymous

Why not both? They are both different games

          • yo1234

Because my list of “games to buy” within this next half year has exceeded 10. And e3 hasn’t even taken place yet. i expect it to go over 20 including ps4 games. It has gotten to the point where i have to start choosing what i buy and what i dont. College is expensive :(

    • CirnoTheStrongest

I’m definitely keeping on my end of the deal!

  • Chim_era

    miku’s coming !!!

  • I imported the game, but will pre-order the N.A. release as soon as they’re up!

  • Solomon_Kano

Oh snap! I don’t really do rhythm games, but I WILL support this! And I didn’t even participate in the Facebook thing. So hopefully that 25k follows through so they get even more than that from people like me who didn’t join in.

    • ShadowDivz

You could send it to me by mail. xD

  • When miracles happen!

  • Keko

And this is why Sega is a bro-tier company!

    • DyLaN

      *ahem*7th Dragon 2020*ahem*Shining*ahem*VC3*ahem*
Still, its a good first step for Sega I guess.

      • Solomon_Kano

All on PSP. If we’re still faulting them for all that, then there are no bros based on all the PSP games we’re missing from everybody else.

  • doubleO7

Woah, a physical release? I might have to pick this up now.

  • And suddenly, the sound of a thousand Domino’s Pizza phones ringing off the hook

  • wolfflame21

    Insta buy!

  • puchinri

I’m not a Vocaloid fan at all (I appreciate some of the fanwork though~), but I may pick this up just to support ventures like this and because I’m really surprised it’s happening.

  • Sentsuizan_93

Wait. EU is a digital exclusive? Oh well, still buying. This needs our support.

  • You ask, you prove it’ll sell, and you’ll get it.

People gonna be goin’ craaaaaaaaazay at this news, I suspect. :3

Just remember to actually pick it up when it comes out!

  • Testsubject909

Oh hey. I already got the Vita game ordered/imported…

Still going to buy this Day 1 when it comes over!

    • Curan_Altea

Same boat I’m in. I hadn’t planned to pick it up for PS3 but I can’t not support this.

  • fireemblembeast

YEEESSSS!!! Huzzah for social media! (this is one of those rare instances in which I will say that) I knew we could do it, guys! :D

It would be nice if the demo was different from the JP demo. Anyways, day 1 buy, and I’m really blown away with the great games coming this summer! Someone pinch me, I must be dreaming…*_*

And I love it when games are announced 3 months before release. It’s a nice time frame to have, unlike some OTHER games for PS3 that were announced over a year before their release in August (you know what I mean)

Also, I can’t wait to actually play a miku game…it was unthinkable a while ago for us to be able to walk into a gamestop store and buy miku games lol. Good thing I won’t have to worry about dual audio either, haha.
    I love you, Sega! <3

  • PlayLife

This is so great news, I supported the campaign but never expected that a totally japanese game would be released in the west. I don’t really mind the game being DLC in Europe, I’m into digital releases so :)

Also August is going to be a month to remember, normally this time of the year releases of games are put into a stop but not this year.

  • Junko Enoshima

  • Nyandroid

I just terrified everyone in the house with my excitement over this news!!! xD

Also, kinda funny how this comes out just a few days after I was thinking that the campaign must have failed. I’ll have more faith next time!!

  • I still play the Vita game every so often (and played it tons when it was first released), but I’ll support this when it’s out, too, as long as it’s not one of the crazy priced PSN-only games that costs £50+(!).

I want them to know their decision is appreciated in Europe! ^_~

    • Yeah… I was about to say, I wouldn’t like the idea of having to pay the same price as for a retail copy ^^; I think it’s a bit unfair, that’s not to say I won’t enjoy the game of course, but you know.

      • What would put me off a bit is if it was one of those games that is somehow way more than a retail copy, but hopefully it will be a normal price!

  • Shizumasa

I’m surprised by the physical copy. Too bad EU doesn’t get a physical copy, I’ll import the US one then, since I’m a fan of physical copy. I said too much physical copy.

  • laurenhiya21

Man I thought this would never come over here D: (I always underestimate the US/European Miku fanbase) Really can’t wait to pick up a copy, even if I don’t have a PS3 :D

  • DS23

Guess I’m getting a PS3 soonish then. Very exciting news.

  • Sayorain

    No Vita?

  • TiredOfMyOldUsername

Omg!!! right now i’m really loving Sega.

  • TheSwordUser

Please sell like crazy, please sell like crazy, please sell like crazy…

  • ZekeFreek

Fuck this. I wanted the Vita version, not this trash.

    • Penguin

this is not trash….. this is quality game

    • noctis_nox

They are practically the same game. >_>
That comment was really uncalled for. There are better ways to ask for Vita version. Why not comment on their FB page.

      • Elvick

Because that worked when everyone did it in droves last time.

They clearly didn’t read any comments. Just counted thumbs and shares.

        • ZekeFreek

Oh, I’m sure this version is fine. I just wanted to Vita version is all.

  • SupaPhly

    D’oh! I already imported this!
oh well, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to play the jp version. But this is great for fans in the west!

  • Howl

Man i’m so glad this his coming here. I will get it but i just don’t think i will be able to get it at launch T~T

  • Brion Valkerion

Grats Miku fans, you have been heard!

Would get this too in support of you guys if Aug. wasn’t so jam packed with games I want.

    • CirnoTheStrongest

Then make sure to get it later on! It’ll still be around~!

  • Shame there’s no physical copy for Europe, I’d have gotten 2 or 3 copies myself :/
Does anyone know if you can even pre-order on the PSN? Otherwise I’ll have to mark this on a calendar in case I forget. Well, I probably will forget until someone reminds me anyway, seeing as there are so many games I want coming out this year… :p

    • You can preorder games on the PSN, but not many are put up to do so. I think there are only around three at the moment (on the EU PSN, that is!).

      • Ahhh I see. Kinda doubtful this will be on preorder then ^^;
        Thanks for the info

  • Penguin
  • konsama

Awesome news, i played the japanese demo and really enjoyed it, took longer to get here but i will buy the hell of this game.

  • Shirogane Takeru

All I need now is an [email protected] and visual novels western localization (looking at you MuvLuv)

    • nick_54g

      just play them on pc

      • LynxAmali

Total Eclipse is available on PC?

        • nick_54g

no that ones on ps3 but the base games are on pc english patched. though the spin offs arent translated yet

        • nick_54g

no that one is only on ps3. the base games are on pc translated while the spin offs arent

          • LynxAmali

            You don’t sarcasm, do you?
            Note the all caps.

          • nick_54g

felt like you were serious. and no i am a very serious person

  • Meh. I was hoping for the PS Vita version :C I’m still getting this, but probably until December.

  • Carocaro4

My heart has been set aflame with this news. I am crying….

  • FetusZero

Luckily for them, my Play-Asia order wasn’t shipped yet, so I was able to modify it and remove the game, which means I will support the localized version instead. It’s like they waited for me to place the order to finally confirm it.

  • ChiffonCake

Oh wow, I really didn’t expect this to actually happen. Good going, Sega!

  • psycho_bandaid

All of my money… and tears of joy… Day one buy.

  • Catnipcookie

    Help me, I am hyperventilating.

    • Testsubject909

It’s been a day now. You okay?

  • Bruno Cesar

    YES. Will double dip.

Most fun songs to play: Himitsu Keisatsu and Negaposi*Continues (dat soreness)

  • Wondering_Zero

Son of a bitch. They actually did it, and here I bought the Japanese PS3 version and Vita version thinking there was a snowball’s chance in hell of it getting released in the US.

This is the first time I’m going to triple dip into my wallet for the same game, but I’ll definitely be picking it up to show my support. I’m glad they’re giving us a physical and digital version of the game. Can’t wait!

Now if Sega would only announce that they’re working to localize a certain other game. *cough*Yakuza5*cough*

  • Yea,with this I can confirm that PSO2 Vita will never get an english release, thanks sega =D

  • Rini11

It is a shame Europe only gets it as a download only game but still it will be a day one buy=)

  • kroufonz

    All Hail sega!

weird that EU is DL only when usually NA get DL only for some jp voice only game.

  • Reize

Ugh, digital only is such bs. I’d rather they didn’t even bother, since PS3s aren’t region locked anyway. Might as well still buy the US version. Figures.

  • MrSirFeatherFang

August? That’s pretty soon. I do enjoy announcements for games that aren’t too far off, although I do need to organize enough money to buy it.

  • Doctor Nebula

It’s kind of odd that they wouldn’t release both Vita and PS3 version, it’s basically the same game, just a digital download would have been fine. Unless, they’re going to and just haven’t announced yet.

  • Maumac77

June 11th????!!! That’s too close! *Ahem* excuse me while I go into the corner and squeal for the next 2 minutes

  • CirnoLakes

No! I don’t have any money this August!

I’m sorry Miku, you’ll have to wait until October. I already spent all of my August money on Tales of Xillia pre-orders.

  • Damn, we won? really? Nice! :)

Now let’s do the same for Valkyria Chronicles 3! :(

  • noctis_nox

I hope they announce a CE edition with a Miku figures. :)
Great! I really need to support this.

  • ShadowDivz

Im excited for this but i gotta know.

    • Neppygear

You’ll find out next week when the demo drops.

  • Kitestwinblades

Finally! Feels like FOREVER since I’ve played a rhythm game from overseas. Outside of karaoke minigames featuring suspiciously familiar tunes xD

With that said, absolutely DAY ONE( ̄ー ̄)So glad its making its way to the states, as a packaged game no less! Lets surprise them with sales!

  • I’m very happy this game is coming to the west. Not only that, I think SEGA could also give J-pop a huge boost in the west giving that K-pop is getting more popular (and probably help people to try other Asian pop music like J-pop, Taiwanese pop, and Cantopop). If this game sell well in the west, I hope this can get Japan to globalize J-pop the same way their Korean counterpart did for K-pop (that genre has already got mainstream in South America all the way up to Mexico and the Caribbean. K-pop is already mainstream in Eastern Europe, and now is getting more mainstream in Western Europe like Germany, France, and UK). I want to see AKB48 and EXILE competing with Girls Generation and Super Junior on international level and both of them gaining the same level of popularity worldwide and EXILE can perform concerts outside of Japan. Arashi could compete with SHINee if Japan take this seriously. Other J-pop boybands like Hey! Say! JUMP, Sexy Zone, A.B.C-Z, and Kis-My-Ft2 could compete with K-pop boyband like MBLAQ, U-KISS, 2PM, BtoB. For girl group, I feel that E-girls, Tokyo Girls Style, Berryz Kobo, Dream, Weather Girls could compete with K-pop girlbands like KARA, Girl’s Day, F(x), and Wonder Girls.

So yes I want to see this game do well in the west, hopefully it can allow Japan to globalize J-pop. I can’t even find a lot of J-pop albums/songs on Itunes not even Namie Amuro, Ayumi Hamasaki, or Koda Kumi album are on Itunes. K-pop is outdoing J-pop in term of popularity, achievements, and fanbases on international level. Also even though there are some J-pop MVs on Youtube, they are hard to search for (the video names are all in Japanese letters, not in English so that make it harder to find J-pop on Youtube where for K-pop type in the artists name in and song in English and you can find it easily). The only J-pop MVs that stand out the most is AKB48, one of the video has 88 million views on YT, while other J-pop MVs on YT have less then 1 million views. If K-pop gets more mainstream around the world, then it’s going to drive J-pop artists jealous they’ll demand to do more concerts outside of Japan/Asia.

And no Vita version :/ I already own the Japanese Vita version but this bodes badly for future localizations if the main installments continue to be on handhelds. That said, I’ll gladly pick up a physical English Vita version should they change their mind, but considering the outpouring of support for a Vita version on Facebook, I don’t really see it happening. It’s finally being localized..and I’m still stuck importing anyways.

  • notforsale

I wouldn’t been interested in there wasn’t a physical copy…thanks god there is one!

  • Fitzkrieg

I literally JUST put an order down for an imported PS3 version of this.
I’ll probably buy it again. It’s gonna be cheaper over here, anyway.
Besides, I’m sure I can find someone to pawn my JP copy off on.

  • Testara

I already imported the japanese version…. but there’s no way I can avoid buying this. If for no other reason, than to support it.

  • SoundMatch

I didn’t think Sega would go through with this. I was literally JUST about to go outside to go get the JP version but I knew I should of waited. To think that 1 click would convince Sega to localize this. I just hope this comes with the awesome hori stick controller!

  • glory to Sega

  • Erikdayo

Sold. I already have the Vita and PS3 Japanese releases, but I’ll buy this to show support and for English in edit play creation.

  • Aristides

Well too bad I wont be playing it -_- … no Vita version… haters…

  • Maijun Jamdee

I already imported the Japanese version two months ago. But figuring out that the game is now coming to the US, I’d be willing to buy one more copy!

  • john doe

Why can I not reserve this yet?!

    • Jesse

      You can, now. ^^

  • shadowind

On the one hand, I’m happy that it’s coming out in the West (I couldn’t care less unlike some people that it’s the PS3 version only), but I’m seriously pissed off at the loser at Sega West who decided to make the EU version download-only thus making even less sales in the region than they would have if they’d have done the same here as in NA; both physical and download versions.

  • s07195

Easiest song to localize: Nyanyanyanyanya. XD
Oh wait, the internet did it for them already.
