New Ragnarok Odyssey Ace Video Takes Us To The Underworld

By Spencer . June 10, 2013 . 12:58am

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace is an enhanced version of the PlayStation Vita game. Game Arts added new monsters and areas like Niflheimr where you can fight the Lord of Death. You can see the new area 40 seconds into the game’s opening movie.

Xseed announced they will localize Ragnarok Odyssey Ace and GungHo Online Entertainment America will handle the European version. Ragnarok Odyssey Ace is slated for a winter release in the West. We’ll get a first look at Ragnarok Odyssey Ace during E3.

Why couldn’t the online game be this fun?!

    • Ferrick

except that the online game is better than this one, much more co-op and strategy needed to tackle a boss monster rather than simply using the “jump -> infinite aerial attacks -> profit” strategy

      • Spirit Macardi

At least it’s more interesting than clicking and holding on a monster, praying that it runs out of health before you do.

The original online game is horribly unbalanced and focused on min-maxing, and the new one manages to be completely uninteresting and lacking in features despite having been in development since I was in high school.

        • Ferrick

its no different than jumping and doing infinite aerial attacks, holding on a monster, praying that its parts break and its hp runs out before yours do

how is it horribly unbalanced when every class fits the role that they were supposed to be made for ? and what new one ? it was cancelled long ago

  • Go2hell66

give the guy who makes these trailers a raise, they make the game look so good

  • Aristides

I hope the game is as good as the trailer

This game could have so much more depth.

I mean using the whole Main Job/Sub Job aspect of the online game.
They could do like FFXI, when the mix of 2 classes will give bonuses.
Or even the RO that you start as one base class and go lvling up and changing to more powerfull sub classes.

I thought they would at least add more jobs in this game. Some of them fits perfectly to be in this hunting genre.
Taekwon, Ninja, Gunslinger, and even the Soul Link.

But i’ll buy anyway, to support the Vita, RO franchise and the hunting genre.
Should i buy 3 copies? xD

    • TheExile285

No. You should save the money for the second and third and buy Toukiden and Ys Celceta.

Oh but I agree with what you are saying.

      • Marcelo Henrique Chaves

Yeah, i’m excited for them as well.
This year is definitely the best in the hunting genre.
We have Toukiden, GE2, Valhalla, and MH4 for the 3ds.
Now Ys, and Trails, i’m wating for the release and price drop.
Gonna buy the entire collection and play them in the right order. =D

  • SirTeffy

LOLI RURI! Yes please. Definitely getting both versions with my boyfriend for co-op.

  • Virevolte

I already played the first version… too bad there’s not some kind of “update” available to make it “Ace”. I don’t want to buy it again or to start over to gain more content…

    • TheExile285

I know you said you didn’t want to buy it again but if you did, your save would crossover.

      • Virevolte

That’s good to know, thanks !

  • TheExile285

It looks better…. but not that much better. I want to support Xseeds Vita efforts but I not sure if I’ll be able to get into this again after playing SS (and Toulkiden depending on when that comes out).
