More DLC characters are coming to DC fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us. Someone put the question to NetherRealm Studios’ creative director, Ed Boon, on Twitter, to which Boon replied: “YES!”

We’ve already seen characters such as Lobo, Scorpion, Batgirl and General Zod as downloadable content, as well as a possible teaser for the Martian Manhunter.

So are they going to be actual DC characters are are they just going to try and sneak in another MK character?

And Martian Manhunter? Bout time! Personally I feel that he should have been in the base game. I mean everyone that knows Justice League knows who the Martian Manhunter is!

    • AverageGamers

if the rumor is true (that came from a person who leaked the first batch of DLC charas), then yes… we’re having yet another cool MK fighter soon

      • Sardorim

Wouldn’t be surprised if its Younger Sub-Zero as Sub-Zero is very well known and is popular up there with Scorpion. Doubt they would bring over Cyber Sub-Zero as he’s still newish and doesn’t hold the popularity or recognition as Sub-Zero, human, does.

Good, breaking the community, they are a great fighting games developers, I see..

    Adult Static pls

took the words right outta my mouth!

    That Bat Girl picture…

thats why i wont buy this kind of games, roster should not be DLC, unless they are doing an expansion which its not the case….

Guess they didnt learn from sfxt and mk on how both games plagued with dlc affected the community and the “wide adoption” of both games

    • Kelohmello

The actual problem with SFxT was that said DLC characters were on the disc and players were in essence paying for a small unlock of a character that was done finished and put into the game before it was shipped.

That being said, I do think that DLC characters are stupid. DLC for fighting games should be limited to stuff like costumes or alternate colors, things that don’t affect gameplay for everyone

      • AkuLord3

I’m fine with DLC characters…if its a good period of time that shows they were starting makiing and brings some new characters to fresh up the game while this seems they already had characters ready (well the first few, the others they’re working on so i can’t fault them on that). Point is Costumes are lame, new characters people wanna play and see are better

        • Kelohmello

The problem with DLC is that no matter how it’s done, these things have to be put into planning during the development of the game for financial purposes. Then they have to come out within a certain number of months after the game is in stores to maximize profit versus consumer interest, elsewise it doesn’t make as much money as the company would like and their first priority is cash. Whether it’s released months later or it’s on the disc, the truth is that both are already done and made beforehand then sold to you later to make them more cash.

Now, my problem with DLC characters in fighting games is that these are competitive games that people for large periods of time. Were it something like, say, DBZ, I wouldn’t care. But when I have to spend more money periodically to keep my edge in tournament, it starts to bother me.

          • Mathew Gibbons

They’re not exclusively competitive games. They’re certainly a good genre for competitive gaming but they’re also good for battling a sibling or friend for fun. These games have a wide market and for a gamer playing with friends and family who doesn’t care for the competitive scene DLC characters in a fighting game give them a reason to play the title again.

Hence why we better not see paid DLC in Smash Bros.

  • AverageGamers

The biggest issue I have with this DLC, is that they didn’t get their own S.T.A.R Labs mission and I can’t even rewatched their ending since it’s not available in the extra page. I’m guessing they are saving it for a Komplete edition to be released later on.
Oh, and if the leaked rumor is correct, we’re going to have another MK character in the rooster… *sigh*

    • MasterScrub

It’s not correct, it was proven false.

  • TheExile285

No more Mortal Kombat characters please!

    I would like to see some Teen Titans/Young Justice heroes but that’s probably not likely ;_;

Oh what I would give for Connor Kent….

Meh. Guess I should sell this game, and see if I can make some money back. Between the last DLC (which only had one character that mattered…and THAT was a Bat-character) and this DLC, which is about $30 worth of DLC, plus roughly 7 costume packs I can think of (Red Son #2, Blackest Night 1&2, New 52, the Bad Girls pack, classic Teen Titans, and Earth 2) which is another $21…if anyone’s actually paid for all the DLC this game has they’ve pretty much paid $110. So far. And there’s no WAY they’re stopping with the costume packs.

…All for them to release a “Master” or “Komplete” edition for $40 next summer. So, I’ll get back to this game then.

  • MrJechgo

    More? Sweet ^_^
Yes, please, and it’s not like they can run out of characters to add either :)

  • NewestType

    That screenshot looks horrible…

  • Tonton Ramos

So there is hope for this game after all? If Martian Manhunter is revealed yes it has hope…
