Dead Or Alive 5′s Kasumi Joins Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate

By Spencer . July 3, 2013 . 1:37am

image Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate has two more characters that weren’t in Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper for Wii U or the original Warriors Orochi 3. Famitsu revealed Kasumi from Dead or Alive will be playable. She’s armed with a short sword. Kasumi was also in Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, so we imagine her moves in Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate will be similar.

Omega Force also added a brand new character, Ouryuu, who fights with a pair of dragon swords.

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is slated for release on September 26 for PlayStation 3 and Vita.

    Very very sweet news

  • Monterossa

Awesome!! hope it’s gonna have retail disc.

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

If it’s localized at all, chances are it won’t unless Koei decides to dub it…which they won’t.

      • Tarlol

Hmm, is this really the case? I think WO3 came out w/o a dub in NA territories, so why wouldn’t this..?

        • Hinataharem

I don’t think it did. Which is why it was digital, right?

          • Tarlol

It had a physical 360 release. Which is the one I owned, I totally forgot it was digital only on the PS3!

    • eilegz

on playstation they wont… only on xbox.

      • Ixbran

the game is, so far, only confirmed for PS3 and PSVita release in japan. if this game is ported to the west, it will probably just stay on those two systems.

  • Skode

Man, this is gonna break my heart if it doesnt get released in the west.

    • TheHolypopeofgaming

      You can always import

  • Gilgamesh2025

    Kasumi ftw! :D

  • MrJechgo

Y’know, kinda glad that I skipped the first PS3 version and the Wii U version :)
If this is the last revision, I’ll gladly pick it up for PS3.

  • eilegz

    so salty…. sigh

koei doing what its best, releasing the same thing with few additions, im still salty that they decided to release wo3 on psn only and charge FULL PRICE DIGITAL, i bought it thinking that in orochi series it suppose to be a ultimate edition games, sure dlc here and there which i wouldnt mind and i supported but now this?

Seriously this kind of addition should be a PROPER DLC that could be released in the first place.

    • MrTyrant

I feel bad for buying this game on ps3, this looks “better” with more characters.

    • pimpalicious

New story chapter, extra characters, the Hyper content(from Wii U version) and additions to combat would likely cost about the same as a whole game in DLC anyway.

      • eilegz

i dont know man, seriously we dont know…

Now the real question is, will this bundle all previous DLC, map packs, costumes and every single adition to wo3 to make this a “COMPLETE” package.

if this its not the case can we use the old and previously purchased DLC….

Again we dont know but for what they are trying to do its pretty shaddy and despicable and not only in this game but on doa5…..

Having to buy it digital only on psn where i cant resell it wont help, i really want to see how different this “ULTIMATE” edition will be vs the vanilla version

I learned a lesson today, i wont buy ANY koei tecmo game at launch i wait for ultimate editions and at a reduced price, they dont deserve my money.

And having to buy it digital with 0 advantage and no lower price dont help…. just look a kens rage 2 i skipped it, and how they are doing roster dlc which its something that i tend to boycott.

        • JuiceKun

DoA 5 Ultimate is gonna be free to play as well as retail price, you can try it for free to see how it compares before taking the dive. Rest easy.

  • Slayven19

They know people will get it because of kasumi and I’m one of them, sigh…. This’ll be the last time koei, but I’ve only bought the wiiU version of this game anyway so I’m not to mad.

  • Sardorim

I can’t wait for WO4 in the far future! Even though I know they’ll have re-releases of it as well I still will buy it when it does come out.

I’m such a masochist when it comes to these types of games. =*(

    • Skode

Yeah once theyve wrapped up SW4 and the DW8 series it will probably be announced and as certain as the sun will rise tomorrow i will be hyped for it. I just never get bored of these Orochi games

    • eilegz

just wait for WO4 ultimate…. thats what im going to do maybe even a re-release for ps4 or xone

  • GibbRS

I’ve wanted this game for a while but I don’t like buying games digitally, so this ultimate edition is actually something I’d be willing to buy if it made it to the states.

  • TheExile285

Gonna cry if this doesn’t come to NA…

  • $7573679

They added Kasumi = Buying on ps3 release!

  • David GarcĂa Abril

    Scans, please!

  • Ixbran

Here are pictures of Kasumi’s render for the game, as well as Yinglongs Concept art.

    • Raltrios

No panties? I’m not familiar with DOA, but is that normal?

      • Sylveria

That blue ribbon that is under her gi is her underwear. It covers what it needs to cover.

    • fyi1191

YingLong’s weapon doesn’t seem like a pair of dragon swords to me.

  • Learii

omg omg am I dreaming? I love kasumi

  • MrJechgo

BTW, about time that they add her. When WO3 came out, they marketed Ayane as the “main character” representing DOA as part of the guest characters.
Kasumi was always the main character of DOA IMO.

  • Skode

It seems the updated movesets are NOT present in the game… Xu Shu from DW7 Empires is in the game but the new movesets which came with him in that game such as the DLC weapons (Boomerang, Thunder Sword, Circle Blade, Twin Wands, Iron Boat and Spiked Shield) as well as Xiahou Ba’s new Siege Lance are not looking like being on the game. A real shame that – no reason to not include them you would have though seeing as they are using assets from DW7 Empires anyway.
