      Hush impostor! :P

On topic, not a shocker since it’s announced for Europe, but still good. I’m more surprised by “Latin America” getting a release, it’s not exactly common for these sort of games to get official localizations for areas beyond Canada and the USA in the Americas.

      • Zharkiel

Not really, a quick glance to the back of some of my game cases, reveals that most Atlus DS games are up for distribution in at least Mexico. Some Square-Enix games include Latin America and so does The Last Story.

Funny thing about the Atlus games is that the manual comes both in english and French, but no spanish, what gives? Oh well, they’re already freaking huge as it is.

The Last Story is kind of a shocker since XSEED isn’t really known to license their games outside the US and Canada. I got lucky with my Ys copies and had to import my Trails copy.

What does a ‘latin american release’ means?

    • Nanaki

      I thought the same thing.
Guess it means there’ll be a release for Mexico and South America as well. That’s pretty cool.

    • Rocsas

Perhaps it will be less rare to find….

cause even if recent JRPGs like persona 4 golden are more common, a couple of years ago it was really hard to find any JRPG not named Final Fantasy or Pokemon in Mexico´s stores, and I imagine countries in South America probably were even worse in this aspect.

      • Alfredo Muñoz Rodriguez

sometimes, you even need to wait over a week or two, after the release in USA in order to get it here

      • kmantle

Who knows? I really hope so… maybe in department stores, but not in tianguis.
I remember I spent once a whole day looking for a SMT Nocturne copy, and almost nobody even knew the series (half of the stores only carried FPS’ and FIFAs). The single guy who know what the hell I was talking about asked me for $800 (mexican pesos)… for an used copy.
Then, in a trip to El Paso… boom! Nocture, Valkyria Chronicles, DeSu Overclocked and Tactics Ogre for less than $60

    • Tom_Phoenix

Every time I see spanish written, I can’t help but think of this:

  • Hau To

    Now I can be hyped.

  • KyoyaHibari

    *starts flooping*

  • Xillia

Why did i delete my Graces save file by mistake :(

    • DesmaX

      You can make another one.

I don’t think it will require to beat the game or anything, just having a Save Data would be enough

      • Wappuli

Atleast on JP-version you needed to have clear data.

edit: Brainfart, only game that needed clear data was Xillia 1.

  • spoiling a bit

if i remember correctly the bonus item for having the save data for older tales is the doll attachment, respectively Xillia Jude, Xillia Milla, Asbel and Yuri. Idk if yuri will included here (considering Vesperia isnt localized)

    • Barrylocke89

But the 360 version of Vesperia was localized. And I doubt they’d take something out of the game because it wasn’t on the same system. (Tales of Graces has costumes from Symphonia for instance, and at the time, that hadn’t been on a Sony system in the West either.)

      • if the NA/Pal version can read the save data of reg.Jap/asia version of Vesperia PS3 then by all mean you can have the the bonus doll :) considering you had it

        • Barrylocke89

If each doll came from a separate save file, then I suppose you’re right then.

      • Aunna Terrell

Tales of Graces f had PS3 Vesperia costumes, not Symphonia.

        • Barrylocke89

IIRC, wasn’t there a DLC Zelos Costume for Richard in Graces F?

          • Aunna Terrell

That’s the only Symphonia costume though. That’s from the various Tales of costume DLC pack, so it’s not similar to the in-game costumes of Vesperia.

Stuff carrying over from a saved data is different than DLC though. But both are optional.

    • Wappuli

It was Sophie doll for Graces save, not Asbel.

  • Marcelo Gouvêa

W-W-What?! Latin America?! o_O Does that include Brazil? Are we going to have portuguese subtitles? PLEASE say we’re gonna have portuguese subtitles!

I mean, I could *actually* recommend the game to people with shaky knowledge in English…and then my ramblings about Artes and skits and all that wonderful Tales things would cease to be meaningless! Sort of!

    • DesmaX

That would be the first JRPG to be localized here, to be honest. That would be awesome

EDIT: But, the first one is coming here too, but no localized subtitles… I kinda doubt it, but at least it’s something

      • Marcelo Gouvêa

No, I think that honor belongs to Phantasy Star I-III…

        …Back in 1991…

So it’s more like “the first JRPG to be localized here in the last 20 years-or-so”

        • DesmaX

… Oh, yeah, good ol’ Phantasy Star. Totally forgot about that one

          • Luke Blackwood

Infortunately, it is quite unlikely that we’ll be getting PT-BR subtitles. Y’now, JRPGs aren’t quite the popular genre here. I don’t think they will be going through the trouble of subbing the entire game in portuguese, since if probably won’t sell well here =(

          • Marcelo Gouvêa

B-But maybe after releasing Saint Seiya and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 in portuguese, Bandai has started to like Brazil, a-and would gift us with such a wonderful gift of PT-BR subs…

            I mean…don’t kill the dream I dream…please…

          • Luke Blackwood

Well, it is possible, although Saint Seiya and Naruto are well known franchises around here, so a lot of brazilian gamers are willing to buy it. Tales of, on the other hand, is unfortunately quite unknown in Brazil =(

But, we never know, right? xD

          • Rafael Budzinski

…man, it would be nice to see another RPG localized here after so long. But I have to agree with you, Naruto and Saint Seiya are both well known franchises, unfortunately Tales isn’t as famous. But I’d love to see the game dubbed in PT-BR. At least it would be a lot better than the english dub they normally do…

          • Luke Blackwood

Not all english dubs are bad. Graces dub is quite okay for me. Xillia is looking good too (except Milla, who sounds way too much like a man to me). Symphonia had awesome dubs(Specially Symphonia 2. Emil and Marta’s voices are awesome).

Tales of usually get good voice actings. The problem is that fans use to consider any dub who does not sound quite like the japanese one bad =/

          • Rafael Budzinski

…I really like Abyss and Vesperia’s dub, for an example, but I can’t like Legendia and Symphonia as much, even not being that bad (c’mon, nothing is worse than Phantasia…). But here in Brazil we have a different standard for voice-acting, and I’d really like to see it dubbed in my home-language…
…and I don’t have problems with english dub, I have problems with bad voice-acting. There’re very good ones (FFXII, DQVIII), and there’re trash (Xenogears, for an example)…

          • Luke Blackwood

Yeah, brazillian dubs are usually very good.

Still, I wasn’t speaking directly about you, but rather at the constant rants of Tales Of fans about “bad” voice actings just because they aren’t like the original one (Jude is a great example: his voice is sounding great, but everyone is criticizing it just because it sounds different from JP Jude).

          • Rafael Budzinski

…got it. I agree with you, I hate all the bitching about english dubs. It’s like people ranting because the 10-year kid that sounded like a 30-year warrior in the original dub is now sounding like…a 10-year kid. People can’t accept changes, wants everything sounding like japanese dub. There’re very good ones in english and people simply can’t just enjoy, they have to criticize about everything non-japanese…u.u

    • Camael Lima

I thought that as well when I read “Latin America”! I hope we are right. And… why are we writing in english? loool (Um fenômeno bem interessante). And by the way, I agree with dub’s discussion, some are bad, and others not. And I don’t understand why people criticize english dub, like: “I prefer japanese dub, is much better” Do they even understand what the characters are saying without the subs? ¬¬

  • Suriel Cruz

That moment when you can play and understand every single detail of a game in your language. ^ ^

  • Editto

Can anybody confirm for me if the 1st Xillia is coming to latin america as well?
I hope it is so that I won’t have to import it from the north…

    • DesmaX

I did hear somewhere that it was coming… But now I can’t find it anywhere…

      Oh well

      • Editto

        You have my thanks anyways
edit: Nevermind, just pre-ordered the limited edition from amazon.

    • Zharkiel

Depends of where in Latin America. I was surprised to see it on pre-order at my local blockbuster yesterday here in Mexico

  • Learii

2 tales games in 2014 wow

    • Anime10121

Never thought I’d ever see the day :sniffs:

      • Slayven19

Didn’t we already see that with tales of vesperia and DOTNW? Though I guess DOTNW was a disappointment so…..

        • Anime10121

Completely forgot about that, but its been so long ago!

Oh and I also liked DotNW well enough, its not a bad game in the least. People rag on it because of the monster party, but I thought it had some great characters and a great dog :P

Well, we already knew America would get it. There’s no way that Europe would have gotten this alone.

Namco Bandai has been very generous when it comes to the “Tales of…” series as of late. I am personally grateful and excited to see them get overseas releases!

  • Ladius

It’s so awesome to finally see Tales get the love it deserves from Namco, I hope fans from Latin America can enjoy Xillia and Xillia 2 just as their friends from Europe and North America :)

If I think the wait for Tales of Xillia is almost over…
