imageFalcom and Kadokawa Games partnered to bring The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Zero to PlayStation Vita. The sequel to that game, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Blue, is getting the same treatment.

Dengeki PlayStation announced The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Blue Evolution which is slated for release on PlayStation Vita in 2014. Trails of Zero had enhanced graphics, full voice acting, a new storyline, a couple of mini-games, and unfortunately many bugs.

Very nice. I can’t wait for the OST!

  • Chris Yuen

Hmm…I thought quite a few others on the comments already mentioned that those bugs were fixed quite shortly after the game was released?

    • Kevadu

About a month after the game came out there was a major patch that fixed most issues. Doesn’t seem to stop Spencer from ragging on the game literally every single chance he gets, though…

      • Kefkiroth

        But why?

        • gangrelion

I agree with Spencer. We know that it was fixed a month after! Problem was: For those who wanted to play this game ASAP, this was not a “shortly after” time to wait. The bugs are also awful and could even make you lost a save data. It was a major problem and Falcom knew that. They apologized several times on their web site. This was a headache to many players and must be remembered forever.

      • Ladius

I imagine he hasn’t heard about the fix, maybe we should try sending a mail to Siliconera if he didn’t read the comments.

    YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Trails in the Sky was fantastic so I’ll definitely pick this one up as well

  • Genjo

*shrugs* it could be worse he could be one of those IGN reviewers that play a game THEY don’t know how to play and given it a VERY bad low score because he hates the game hes reviewing plus the fact he don’t understand the game like a boss lol

  • Anime10121

And yet, we still have no second chapter:(

God I wish this series had more sales in the west:(

    • Mar Mar

With all the localization going this year, maybe there is a chance …… guess not :(

    • http://crono-trigger.tumblr.com/ SilverCrono

Look at the bright side: XSEED has promised that they /will/ localize SC, it’s just a question of when. And if/when they release The Third, all they have to do is bring over the Vita versions of Zero and Ao, which is much less risky. I guess maybe it’ll pay off in the end for them. I’m hoping so.

      • JeremyTMH

Well if XSEED ever considered a kickstarter? Companies have a lot of underlying issues to deal with after all. :/

Personally i think they’ll have a better chance to bundle all 3 ps3 remasters and release them. That’s a lot of text work though, they’ll need quite a lot of funds, translators and editors though if they even want to release it remotely fast.

The PSP isnt doing very well in the west. Of course its doing betetr in japan overall, but since this year the Vita is gaining mroe steam as developers slowly stop being shy to develop for it. >.>

        • http://crono-trigger.tumblr.com/ SilverCrono

There’s been a lot of threads all over the place about why Kickstarter won’t be much help in this situation (google “xseed trails in the sky kickstarter”). Long story short, it’s not that they’re lacking money per say, it’s just that the translation is simply massive and takes /time/.

The next logical step is recruiting more translators/editors, but that leads to more different personal opinions and translations and would just lengthen the localization process.

Also, the PS3 remasters being released here is unlikely and probably not too good of an idea, considering they’d probably get a bad rap for not having trophies and being straight-up ports of a PSP game from almost ten years ago. Wouldn’t be too popular, I imagine.

          • JeremyTMH

I think if that is the case, organizational issues are at hand here.

While I read most of the articles as you pointed out, it all boils down also to money. Sure they have money NOW but if they devote their translators to just THIS one project, they arent making money because they aren’t relesing any other stuff.

Its kind of sad that the western gaming community give such a damn about trophies. Well its their loss. But to be far this is NOT Xseed’s fault. Its Sony USA’s fault more than anything.

While it doesn’t affect me because I am Japanese literate, I feel its a great loss for the English rpg lovers to not experience this series. :(

  • Raze

    2014 huh…

I think Sen and other game can hold me up until this game released…

    • JeremyTMH

Or you could replay Zero Evo. >.>

  • Zharkiel

Eeeeeh, I’m honestly not a fan of the Evo arrangements Zero got. They’ll mess up The Azure Arbitrator, I can feel it in my bones.

    • JeremyTMH

But Unfathomable Force might be even better… who knows?

    • AokiShizuku

Ever since I heard a few of the remixes I was hyped for The Azure Arbitrator. I feel that they did a good job with Inevitable Struggle and Formidable Enemy. Not so much Intense Struggle but I have hope they’ll do The Azure Arbitrator justice.

      • Zharkiel

Inevitable Struggle was one of the songs I liked the least from the Evo arrangements, that and Way of Life I just couldn’t like them. For Inevitable Struggle I think the SA does a better job at enhancing the song.

I’m still iffy about them touching the Azure Arbitrator, I think the song is perfect as it is.

    • DesmaX

Well, arranging songs is not an easy task. ZnK Evolution OST was a hit-or-miss for me. But I’m curious to hear Azure Arbitrator and Unfathomed Force

But, hey, I like my OST in their original state anyway. No remixes and such

  • pekikuubik

    Double the pain today, huh…

    • JeremyTMH

The good type of pain? >.>

So, Zero and blue is on vita now XD

  • Tom_Phoenix

So much for that Trails 3DS rumour =P:

    http://www.siliconera.com/2012/07/11/rumor-falcom-is-bringing-the-trails-series-to-3ds/

Then again, I suppose this announcement doesn’t technically preclude the development of ports for the 3DS.

    • http://www.esterior.net/ Endless History

This doesn’t mean that the rumor is null. It’s very likely that someone else is porting it, or a Kiseki-based game to the 3DS, as well.

  • http://www.segalization.com/ Kuronoa

Great, so once XSEED gives us Trails 2 and 3 for PS3 or PC they don’t have to worry about what to do with some of these other PSP entries with he Vita versions around.

  • JeremyTMH

My Wallet Is Ready. Bring it.

  • TheExile285

why isn’t this tagged for Vita section >_>

  • Zoro Young

Meanwhile, if you’re interested in knowing the story of Trails of Zero, check out the walkthrough videos with complete English subtitles from yangxu. His progress is slow and needs all the support from fans he can get.

  • Alex

I’d get a Vita if these games were brought over.

  • Sergio Macellaro

Some people say “PSV HAVENT GAMES” bullshit!
    Us publishers have no guts.
Well, ps3 on yours early days suffer from the same problem and today the situation is very diferent.
My hope is that history repite itself.

  • Guest

Ao no Kiseki evolution will be my first Falcom game.

    • JeremyTMH

You should play Zero Evo first though. >.>

  • XiaomuArisu

    YES!
Give me all you got Falcom!
