Sweet Fuse, The Otome Game With Keiji Inafune, Has A Release Date

By Ishaan . July 25, 2013 . 3:20pm

Aksys’ next otome game, Sweet Fuse, has you playing as the niece of game designer Keiji Inafune. The game will be released for PSP on this August in North America, and Aksys have provided the following story summary:

Sweet Fuse: At Your Side stars Saki Inafune, niece to legendary game developer Keiji Inafune. Saki’s famous uncle opens an amusement park and Saki attends the opening ceremony, but things really heat up when Count Hogstein—a malevolent pig—takes over the park, and holds everyone hostage.  Saki, along with seven sexy men, decides to enter Count Hogstein’s deadly game in order to save her uncle and the other hostages. Will she be able to solve the complex puzzles that Count Hogstein and his merry henchmen have in store? And most importantly, which steamy bachelor will Saki choose?

Sweet Fuse will have fourteen different endings, and speaking of Count Hogstein… he’s connected to the game’s pre-order bonus.

If you pre-order Sweet Fuse, you’ll receive the necklace with the skull insignia that Count Hogstein wears.

Sweet Fuse will be available on August 27th at retail in North America, and will also be available for download in both the U.S. and Europe via the PlayStation Network.

    INAFKING looking classy.
    Looking forward to this one.

  • Tyler Beale

“Pre-order”…..a PSP game?! When I don’t have a PSP anymore (I have a PS Vita)??? LOLOLOL

  • Barrylocke89

I still can’t believe that Aksys is selling retail copies of this sort of PSP game at this point. I wish them the best for that.

    • Longsun_Zhao

And I’d go for that, but I have a Vita and I can’t go back to my PSP.

      • Barrylocke89

Yeah, even with a PSP, if I ever choose to get this it’d likely be a digital version.

      • Daeyamati

They’re also releasing this digitally, so there’s that.

  • Mordina

Can’t wait to play :D If I can ever get to borrow the PSP from my brother.

  • schwarzmasa

Had my copy preordered for months now A necklace as a preorder bonus sounds great, look forward to seeing it!

  • Hours

Finally, I’m really looking forward to this game. :D

  • Thatguy

    Oh, Aksys?

Where is news about Fate/Extra CCC?

    • benhofb

You just had to be that guy (I’m sorry, your username is just… too good).

    • MrSirFeatherFang

Are you related to “That Man” by any chance?

      • Thatguy

Ah, are you talking about my older brother? Didn’t saw him nearly… eternity.

        • MrSirFeatherFang

Possibly… I know a guy… a Sol Badguy who is looking for That Man.

    • DyLaN

IIRC we get F/E a year after the game is out so be patient.

  • Tooru

This game looks really silly, and I can’t wait to play it! I wonder if this will be the last retail PSP game Aksys does? I really wouldn’t mind one more…

    • Rytan

It’s probably the last physical release for the PSP period. Unless Aksys happen to do Fate/Extra CCC…

      • Tooru

Class of Heroes II is still getting a UMD release. But yeah, I hope they do fate/extra.

  • Yay!

  • benhofb

It kinda lost me at “Seven Sexy men” but I might play it just because of how crazy it is that we are even getting it. Gotta support Aksys, ya’know?

    • Ereek

Well, it is otome. What do you expect?

    • Don’t worry, only like three of them are actually attractive.

  • Barrylocke89

Oh, and for the record, Ayumu Shirabe is the best choice without a doubt.

Hot-Blooded Escort Ryuusei Mitarashi: “…he’s popular with his clients for his aggresive but professional demeanor (and his ability to hold his breath for over a minute).

  • xXDGFXx

It shall be mine! The retail edition, I mean!

  • AndyLC

He kinda looks like Dr Dre there (Unfortunately no pictures of Dre in a tophat)

    • anarchy_panty

If they replaced the soundtrack in this game with nothing but fat, G-funk beats I would buy the shit out of it.

  • Learii

    this a puzzle game?

    • MrSirFeatherFang

That’s a good question. It does mention puzzles in the article, but as far as I know it’s just an otome game.

      • Learii

I wish is was free realm game

    • Ereek

Nope, Otome VN with some light puzzle elements.

  • anarchy_panty

    No Keiji route, no buy.

  • new_tradition

Wait, I thought Keiji was gonna be portrayed as some megane-looking hottie?

    • MrSirFeatherFang

nah he was always the uncle of our main heroine

      • new_tradition

        Oh, okay.

Yesssssss! I can woe the megane-looking hottie without any incestuous guilt >=D

        • MrSirFeatherFang

          lololol have fun

  • Lumi

    ”seven sexy men“
By usual otomegame standards, some of those men aren’t that sexy.

  • Lumi

Hey guys, just read some Chinese reviews of the Japanese version of the game… Apparently, the puzzle solving part is too easy, especially when there’s no penalty for choosing the wrong answer (you just choose again) that the reviewer described it as “preschool level” puzzles. So don’t expect too much of a brain workout from this. I guess verdict is, just don’t come in with too high hopes for the challenge level and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. But then, this is supposed to be an otome, and the target audience is slightly different from your average AA so they tuned down the difficulty.

As for the romance, the verdict is also “not good enough”, and you’ll be better off playing this as a puzzle solving AVG (but don’t expect Ever17/999/VLR level plot). But hey, this means you men can play this without (much?) queasiness!

On the plus side, they did say the look and feel plus the music has a definite Ace Attorney tone to it. And you can shout Phonenix-style at the men, and get relationship points for your effort! And there’s famous voice characters and a highly popular Niconico singer to sing the theme song…

  • YES. I’m so excited!

  • LaserVision

Keiji Inafune is “well-know”? Yikes. I always heard Aksys was one of the good ones, but man I hope their website isn’t a reflection of the writing in the localization.

    • DyLaN

Well known enough to appear in 2 Neptunia game.

Or do you mean the typo?

      • LaserVision

The typos. The website’s character bios are a mess. I have no idea why I got down-voted for pointing that out.

        • DyLaN

I don’t see anything wrong aside frm a few typo? Then again I’m not a typo/grammar inaccuracies spotter.

  • I am really disappointed that it is not the game about romancing Inafune. Other dudes will be probably boring stereotypes, like token shota and so.

(yes I somehow missed all the other news about it, don’t be mam)

    • DyLaN

Why do I want to romance Inafune when there better looking ppl around me? :P

  • Neppygear

Aksys… not that it’s not super cool that you’re still gutsy enough to release PSP games no one will ever buy on UMD, but…

    This isn’t Fate/Extra CCC. Why isn’t it Fate/Extra CCC?

    • DyLaN

Because they announced it be4 F/E CCC came out?

  • Roses4Aria

Don’t get me wrong. I’m really excited and grateful that we’re getting this game, Aksys, but I have to admit that the character art for the guys does not make me think “sexy” except for maybe one or two of them, lol. And the fact that the bad guy is an actual pig…

    • Mordina

Heh, I do agree with this. Still, it’s better then nothing :)

    • DyLaN

DR bad guy is a monochrome bear and VLR one is a crazy bunny.

  • So want this.
