The Fight’s Not Over Yet, Watch Streams For SSFIV AE, Injustice & Persona 4 Arena

By Randall . July 27, 2013 . 11:39am

Update: Although a concrete schedule hasn’t been posted yet for every game, we have enough information at this point to get you ready for the final day of VxG 2013.

According to a tweet by Bifuteki, their stream is currently live with Tekken Tag Tournament 2 to be followed by King of Fighters, Mortal Kombat and then Injustice. The approximate start time for KOF hasn’t been confirmed although MK and Injustice have tentative schedules:

3 PM EST – Mortal Kombat Top 8

5 PM EST – Injustice Top 8

Capcom Fighters confirmed via tweet their streaming schedule for today:

12 PM EST – Street Fighter x Tekken Top 8

2 PM EST – Super Street Fighter IV AE Ver. 2012 Top 8

4 PM EST – Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Top 8

Keep in mind all times are “FGC time” which means each top 8 will happen, but the times are just a guideline.

EVO may have come to end, but that doesn’t mean that fighting game tournament season is over. Coming live from the sunny St. Maarten in the Caribbean islands are streams from Video X Games 2013. With a prize pool over $27,000, prepare to watch some of the best fighting game players in the world such as AGE|NYChrisG, VxG.EMP|IFC YipeS, and EG|PR Rog  go head to head.

While VxG is hosting other game such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and FIFA 13, the focus of the tournament is clearly on fighting games. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Persona 4 Arena, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, and a side event for Super Smash Bros. Melee are games you can watch live.

Streaming is being handled via Twitch and split between bifuteki and Capcom Fighters. Unfortunately, we currently have no details on any community driven side streams for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend or Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus.  Below is a tentative schedule for Saturday with all times being Atlantic Standard Time:

11AM – Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition
12PM – Injustice: Gods Among Us
1PM – Super Smash Bros. Melee, Halo 3
3PM – Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Persona 4 Arena

We will update the story on Sunday with event times for the day. I would suggest if you don’t have a Twitch account, register for one and add both Capcom Fighters and bifuteki to your “following” list—that way you receive an immediate email when the channel goes live and you won’t miss a thing.

Persona 4 Arena tournament… according to what I’ve been hearing about, there were like 4 entrants for Persona. So much for a tournament.

Not everyone has the cash to go to da beech.

Anime community didn’t get sucked into the whole dabeech thing and instead just spent their time calling Triforce insane instead.

It pisses me off when I have to accept the fact that BB and GG aren’t as mainstream.

    • MrSirFeatherFang

Doesn’t that just mean they’re too hardcore for the FGC? And I thought the FGC were hardcore!

      • Highasthesky

        They can’t handle the…. MAKOTO!! (O_o)

    • Jonathan Tse

for a lot of people outside Japan, they’re waiting for the +R patch to be released for GG. and peeps have problems with BB because they compare it to GG and feel it doesn’t stand up quite as well.

      • RichyGaming

That sucks, because BB is a great series. I play BBCSE and GGACP btw. I have a preference for BB though, it has enough content to keep me busy and i’m really into the story. I don’t understand the plot in Guilty Gear all that much (Makes sense though since i haven’t played the first game). But I do know what Sol’s real identity is, and his goal. But I don’t know about anybody else except Dizzy and Ky. But where they lack in there, they make up for gameplay, big time. Really fast paced lol

        • Jonathan Tse

yeah, a lot of people applaud BB for its story mode and extra features. but for what makes a game popular in the FGC, it’s honestly hard to say. the majority of the FGC is pretty excited for Guilty Gear Xrd, though. as they should be, because it looks fantastic even in the early stages.

          • RichyGaming

Yeah it looks pretty good I guess. I’m just not too fond of 3D fighting games but they’re doing it like a 2.5D for Guilty Gear Xrd Sign, so I might like it too. Can’t wait to see the rest of the crew. I’m digging the new Dust move shown in the trailer.

          • Slayven19

Well since GG Xrd sign will still play like a 2D game like ssf4 this shouldn’t be a problem for you.

          • RichyGaming

That’s what I was thinking too, dood.

          • Jonathan Tse

i absolutely love Millia’s new look. hopefully everyone from XX will return, especially my favs ABA, Jam, and Slayer.

  • KingGunblader

    When’s Mahvel?!

No seriously, when is it? I don’t see it on the schedule.

    • MrSirFeatherFang

It seems like with the release of Wolverine in theaters, no one can stream Mahvel because he’s not in the game anymore :(
That or some sort of injustice is going around…

      • Guest

Well that’s good I don’t want to see any Mahvel matches

    • Tee Niitris

      It happened yesterday.

There were some good matches (despite the low number of entrants), but the event itself has been underwhelming. Having a major 2 weeks after Evo in the Caribbean during hurricane season isn’t exactly the best idea.

  • Go2hell66

Siliconera catering to the FGC now?

  • Neppygear

Persona 4 who, now? Can people please just forget about that irrelevant turkey?

    • RichyGaming

  • gamefreak86

    No DoA love?

  • Tee Niitris

The final day of streams is today.

    Schedule (tentative):

    02pm – AE2012
    04pm – UMvC3

SFxT is also scheduled; I presume it’s before the other two, but I’m not sure when.
