The Mighty No. 9, a spiritual successor to the Mega Man series by Keiji Inafune, has met its funding goal on Kickstarter, less than 48 hours after Inafune’s studio, Comcept, launched their Kickstarter campaign.

The Mighty No. 9 features a number of veteran staff that have worked on the Mega Man series in the past, such as composer Manami Matsumae, designer Naoya Tomita and art director Shinsuke Komaki.

The Mighty No. 9 is currently at over $930,000 in contributions. At the $1.2 million mark, Comcept will add two more stages to the game, and at the $1.35 million mark, Mac and Linux versions will be greenlit.
