    Not seeing it…

  • Atmey

You know what would be dream come true?
    Koei uses Unreal engine.

  • LunarKnite

The game moves too much, not too conducive to nice screenshots, I feel. Would need a trailer to see improvements.

    • Brion Valkerion

Their screenshots are always super edited, and not very well. You can clearly see they blur the edges unnaturally for the sides to try and make it look better… they really need to stop doing it lol.

  • Zangetsu777

    lol Lu Bu looks creepy.

    • Vadim Merzhey

      Well he should.

I don’t think the PS3 can even pump that out in normal gameplay. It’s mostly likely a visual representation of the leap in hardware. For PS4, possibly but even target renders for PS3 games from before PS3 came out still are not possible.

    • Shizumasa

      Look at that nose difference.

      • InfectedAI

        He got a nose job!

    • Somber

is it CG? or just in-game.

      • Merveilles Lespace

As far as I know, it’s an in-game cut scene.

  • leingod

Difference isn’t that big, but I’d be happy with the game just having better framerates, better looking environments and no more dissapearing troops. Character designs are already cool as they are :)

  • Red Veron

Probably running their engine from a recent game with a much more horsepower with higher poly models. Call me when they actually make new HD engine.

    • monkey king

Too bad there is no such thing as an “HD” engine, that’s not how engine’s work.

      • Red Veron

I used “engine” as a lazy catch-all term to refer to things like the graphics renderer, IQ, middleware, etc. I was hoping they would build something from the ground up to take advantage of hardware beyond the PS2, which was the basis of their current (soon to be previous) generation games that didn’t look much better except for a higher resolution. They eventually got better but it always felt like they weren’t willing to spend that much on the tech side of things.

I think alot of people agree, but we def met a diminishing returns for improvement in graphics for gaming imo. I felt this way when the ps3 and xbox was released. The jump from 8-16 bit was great. 16-32 was phenomenal. 32-ps2 era was pretty darn freakin great. ps2-last gen was fantastic altho you can start to see the dimishing returns. this generation the gap is even closer.

I think this is precisely why we are seeing more indie games etc (although kickstarters, steam etc does definitely play a humongous role) and games that are more artistic seem more viable.

I remember during the ps2 era, it was so hard to get 2d games approved for the ps2 SONY America if anyone remembers this. Now days, people actually crave.

    On a side note,
    business = timing

    • Happy Gamer

that being said, I am genuinely excited for the games next gen will pump out!

    • InfectedAI

Yeah, I was actually shocked that the Wii U, XB1, and PS4 aren’t making 1080p 60 FPS standard. Especially since the graphical leap isn’t that huge.

  • TrannyMagic

I thought there was already gameplay footage of this floating around and even though I didn’t really see a difference you can see a.i. in the background actually fighting eachother and it does look like more a.i. on screen. People in the comments were talking about the improved lighting… I really wanted to see a big difference, especially since it’s a next gen title. Baby-steps.

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

go look for the recent presentation from TGS.

  • Sergio Briceño

Well, to be honest I wasn’t expecting too much of a leap in graphics. So it’s ok I guess.

  • Juan Andrés Valencia

While the characters look great I have to wonder… what is up with that ground texture?!
