Gust is giving Atelier Rorona, the first game in the Arland trilogy, a full remake for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. New Atelier Rorona uses Atelier Meruru Plus battle system as a base, which adds the turn order indicator and new special attacks.

Screenshots from the original Atelier Rorona are on the left and New Atelier Rorona screenshots are on the right for comparison.

Fulfilling item requests is a key part of the game. New Atelier Rorona will give players a stamp on a bonus card if you exceed expectations. Similar to a bingo card, if you connect stamps in a row you can get a bonus like attack + 2 or defense + 2.

Speaking of Sterk, he has new costumes in New Atelier Rorona. Take a look at the Ocean Leader and Retro Worker.

Is this one of those “Will never get the localized version” game?

    • https://twitter.com/GaleGlory89 KiQun

We will get Escha&Logy soon. If everything went well, I expect we will get this around next year summer or a little bit later.

    • cyberkinghardy

How many months did it took to localize the “Plus” games in vita?

      • Virevolte

I think it was 6 months or so.

        • ZekeFreek

It’s always 6 months or so.

  • Rogerrmark

I don’t get that mist in background on remake(Totori and Meruru had too),doesn’t make it necessarily more real, prettier or cooler, dunno.

    Still,looking forward.A lot.

    • pekikuubik

The mist limits the draw distance, or more like, they’ve limited the draw distance, which looks like a mist effect of sorts. This is done to get better performance out of the game.

Umm. Ocean Leader? Sterk is friggin’ ripped!!

  • Shippoyasha

Looks very nice though I really liked the super-chibi/cute look for the boy characters in the original. The game was all around adorable and I wouldn’t have minded it if it stayed that way. Oh well.

  • TheExile285

Ugh, I hate system exclusive content >_<

I like the Retro Worker outfit

  • Dark Zerato

I wonder what Astrid would do if she sees Rorona in Wild Summer ?

    • Anime10121

Comment rated A (Astrid) to lewd to type :P

  • Anime10121

Wait…so this is coming to Vita too? Didnt know that, I thought it was PS3 only, thats great news for Vita peeps, gives em the entire Arland Saga on one system :)

  • Virevolte

Do we have an idea of the release date ? By now I’m accustomed to the ninja releases on the PSN but… well…

  • WyattEpp

    “Retro Worker” nothing– Sieg Zeon!

  • ZekeFreek

OKAY. WE GET IT. EVERYONE WHO WAS ONCE 9 IS NOW 12. MESSAGE RECEIVED.

  • Mike Pureka

I don’t know why, but I’m actually super hype for this.

  • ZekeFreek

All work and no physical release makes Zeke a dull boy.

  • Spirit Macardi

While the characters looking more defined isn’t bad, I worry about the apparent age-up.

I mean, in the original dub, Johnny Yong Bosch used his lighter Renton/Emil voice for Iksel, and it worked with the character’s appearance. But now he looks like his older self, which Johnny used his deeper Lelouch/Ichigo voice for. So are they going to redub this to match it?

  • Arcana Wiz

Did i hear bunny ears ?

  • DanteJones

I’m looking forward to this so much. :’)

  • Malon

Rorona with loose and long hair looks so cuuuute!

  • Monterossa

Wow…. I hope they’ll remake Totori and Meruru too. I don’t care if I already bough the original versions and the Plus versions, I’ll buy the 3rd versions too!!

    • leingod

Doubt they’ll do that. All this new Rorona version does is precisely upgrade character graphics to look like Totori, and specially Meruru.

  • artemisthemp

Where is the Atelier Totori (Plus) and Atelier Rorona bonus

  • nororu

can i play with the boy like main character?

  • Kornelious

Ya know, Atelier Escha and Logy was announced for the west some time ago……It seems like everyone kinda forgot about that :(

  • Ladius

Sterk’s new costume is beyond amazing, not that his Rorona outfit isn’t great as it is. Can’t wait for this game’s localization, I’m already hyped for Escha & Logy.

  • Vaporeon23

Man does Sterk look yummy in those costumes…

  • Xerain

So considering I own both a PS3 and a Vita, and both versions of Meruru… if I buy both versions of the game can I get them all in both versions? (Assuming both New Rorona and Escha & Lodgy gets US releases.)

  • Bell

Just when I thought they couldn’t make Sterk any sexier, they put him in a damn bathing suit. My only complaint: he’s still wearing a shirt.

  • http://animereviews.co/ Nadav

This game is just a dream come true. It’s hard to believe they found the time to make this between the first and second Atelier Escha & Logy games. I really hope it gets a European or US release!

  • TheBlackRabbit

Wow this version looks WAY BETTER
