Wonder who to play as… I usually play Imperial but considering the plot of this game I don’t think they’re an option.

    Opinions?

  • Shiki

Any information on the business model? Pay to play? Freemium? Guild Wars style?

    • Zeonsilt

      It’s P2P.They confirmed it long ago. http://kotaku.com/youll-pay-a-monthly-fee-to-play-the-elder-scrolls-onli-1176508405
” Players will purchase the game, which comes with 30 days free, after which they’ll pay a monthly fee of $14.99/€12.99/£8.99. “

      • Shiki

        Okay thanks for information!
Now I know to skip this game…and wait for Record of Lodess War Online.

        • Ferrick

if you want to play this, just buy oblivion, much cheaper and same gameplay (minus dual wield)

          • Audie Bakerson

Or Morrowind, which is even cheaper and has actually good gameplay.

          • Ferrick

            or that XD

though to be honest, TESO is just oblivion 2.0 gameplay wise, the difference being that there are more restrictions now and the magic/skill system is now moved into hotkeys (from ‘c’ to 1~0)

  • Zeonsilt

    No,thanks.
Judging from gameplay videos of the beta, this game is mediocre,at best(imho, ofc).

“Elder Scrolls” title may save it,but i doubt it.

    • Audie Bakerson

“Star Wars” didn’t save ToRtanic, so…

      • Ferrick

maybe EA’s logo killed their interest ? XD

(just like nexon’s logo would kill 80% of hype)

    • Dagobert

I wouldn’t even call it mediocre, it’s just plain horrible. I tried the beta and regretted downloading it. I should have sold the beta key instead.

  • Villainous Inc.

This is much, much too soon based on the status of the game in the most recent beta. If they try to roll it out in just four months, I anticipate disaster on a massive scale.

    • Audie Bakerson

We can only hope that happens.

    • Kumiko Akimoto

You do know they’ll likely to have another closed beta possibly anyways and an open beta within that time frame?

      • Villainous Inc.

That’s not enough. I really can’t overstate what a clumsy condition the game was in or how many game breaking bugs we experienced in the last beta and that’s without some of the most major features implemented. It wasn’t even a stress test and we brought the servers down a few times with overpopulation.

They’re not even close to ready. I’ve played a lot of betas and alphas and this was by the far the least market ready product I’ve tested at -any- phase.

        • andref

I think a major thing to consider is that this is being made by Zenimax online a new company with no track record for making video games and its first project is an mmo without getting its feet wet with a simpler project

        • Kumiko Akimoto

Even if it wasn’t a stress test the whole point of the bugs were so we could find it and report about it.
That’s what i expect out of any beta.
Though yes it wasn’t market ready but that again that was the point of the beta and which is why they’ll be more betas before it’s released.

      • Ferrick

you do know that it takes time to fix all of the problems this game has right ? no matter how many CBT and OBTs come within the time frame it still would not fix it

        • Kumiko Akimoto

No really does it? I didn’t know that and i guess that eye glass that lets you see the future is really something huh?

          • Ferrick

there are no such thing, just deduction from the latest beta, it’s an incomplete pile of bollocks

          • Kumiko Akimoto

Subjectivity must be hard to grasp for you.It wasn’t the most fantastic thing in the world but they have time to fix it again the point of betas. Though it’s not like people don’t complain like this during the first few betas anyways. So this isn’t anything new

          • Ferrick

Ahhh optimism, sure does make a bloke blind

I played the alpha, saw ocean loads of bugs and problems with the game, discussed it with fellow alpha members, mention said bug in the feedback form and what did i get 6 months later (latest beta phase)? Nothing we mentioned were ever fixed. The game’s broken in too many sections to even say that it can be ready in 4 months

          • Kumiko Akimoto

Hmm Considering the change i saw from the when i first started participating until the most recent one I don’t know about that.
Cynicism the curse of life eh?

          • Ferrick

when did you first start exactly ?

between the period when i first played the alpha i got invited to when the latest beta was released, there wasn’t any substantial changes and past bugs still existed

  • Kumiko Akimoto

Hmm I’ll be looking forward to it

  • Dagobert

Horrible game. I tried the beta, and it’s got the exact same skyrim combat system which is horrible. Even besides the combat system, everything about it feels like a single player game. It’s like that Star Wars MMO, even though it was an MMO it still felt like a damn single player game.

  • Hector Velar

What I will like to see is how will it be able to compete against the wave of Korean MMOs that are coming out same year. What new things it is going to bring to the MMO table, will it be unique, will they beat the boredom of quest grinding, will they have balanced classes and a growing economy? will it have the best graphics? will it have a better active battle engine than even Tera? I guess only time will tell. I sure do miss EQ1 hope this can bring me back to MMO once again.
