Crimson Moon’s Semblance Best Characters in Genshin Impact

Crimson Moon’s Semblance is a 5-star polearm and Arlecchino’s best and signature weapon. It’s primarily based on the Bond of Life mechanic introduced in Fontaine. This guide will explain Crimson Moon’s Semblance Best Characters in Genshin Impact.

Not many characters make use of the Bond of Life mechanic, which makes it a fairly niche weapon. Currently, Arlecchino is the only character who uses Bond of Life as a part of their skill set. But if you’re looking to try out an experimental build with another character, there are a few decent options.

Genshin Impact Crimson Moon’s Semblance Stats and Skills

Crimson Moon’s Semblance is a unique polearm tailored to Arlecchino’s skillset. Its mechanic, using Bond of Life to its benefit, is unique to Arlecchino, so there aren’t that many characters who can make use of it nearly as well as she can.

Here’s what it can do:

  • Charged Attacks create a Bond of Life, which consumes 25 percent of the character’s HP. One Bond of Life can be triggered every 14 seconds.
  • Characters with Bond of Life gain a 12 percent damage bonus.
  • Once Bond of Life has consumed more than 30 percent HP, they gain another 24 percent damage bonus.

Because Bond of Life interrupts a character’s ability to receive healing, this polearm works best on characters who can heal themselves. But in order to fully make use of Bond of Life and not be crippled by it, characters who can make use of Bond of Life, like Arlecchino, are the only ones who can make the most of it. (Currently, Arlecchino is the only one.)

What Is Bond of Life And What Does It Do?

If you’ve been fighting Fatui Agents in Fontaine, you might recognize Bond of Life. Bond of Life temporarily cancels out all healing received by the afflicted character. It’s kind of like a reverse shield. When a character receives healing, the Bond of Life (represented by a red mark on their HP bar) will eat it instead. Once the character gains more healing than the Bond of Life restricts, the effect will disappear.

So if Bond of Life eats away at 800 of a character’s HP, the character will have to gain 800 HP worth of healing in order to get rid of it. Arlecchino is the only character currently who can apply Bond of Life to herself. However, there are a few weapons that also have this ability: Crimson Moon’s Semblance (polearm), Finale of the Deep (sword), and Flowing Purity (Catalyst).

Arlecchino

Crimson Moon’s Semblance is Arlecchino’s signature weapon, so it’s tailor-made for her skillset. Without Crimson Moon’s Semblance, Arlecchino needs to use her Elemental Skill (E-Skill) and wait until it concludes in order to trigger Bond of Life. But with Crimson Moon’s Semblance, all she needs to do is use a Charged Attack and she will automatically gain Bond of Life. When she has her Bond of Life active, her normal attacks are converted into Pyro damage.

When her Elemental Skill ends, she is granted a Bond of Life. After that, she will gain two instances of Bond of Life, granting her the additional 24 percent damage bonus. It will be more difficult for characters who aren’t Arlecchino to do so.

Lastly, when Arlecchino uses her Elemental Burst, it eats the Bond of Life(s) that are currently active and converts it into damage. She will receive another Bond of Life at the end, but by using Charged Attacks, she can power herself up even more than she would than with any other weapon.

Hu Tao clasps her hands together in concentration.

Hu Tao

Crimson Moon’s Semblance can be a decent pick for Hu Tao if you want to capitalize off her Passive, which increases her Pyro Damage by 33 percent if her HP is at less than 50 percent. She is able to heal herself if her HP gets too low with her ability Spirit Soother, but you may need an off-field healer on standby for her if Bond of Life is keeping her HP too low.

Chevreuse aims her musket close to her face.

Chevreuse

The only reason this polearm is right for Chevreuse is that she can heal herself. If you want her to be a main DPS, it’s an alright choice, but there’s probably better out there for her. Chevreuse works best on teams with Electro, but Crimson Moon’s Semblance requires her to stay on the field for longer than a lot of off-field Electro characters like Fischl and Kuki Shinobu can provide. But if you want your Chevreuse to have an outside-of-the-box build, this could be an interesting combination.
