Vic Ireland is really determined to please roughly 2000 people at a time.

    • X_Bacon

      Myself being one of them

    • M’iau M’iaut

Yup. Now to have him find a game with which he can please a different 2000 people.

      • chibidw

        Class of Heroes 3? :P

        • M’iau M’iaut

Nah. By then some of that 2000 will have figgured out there are better localized dungeon crawl series out there.

          • Spirit Macardi

There’s no cuter ones out there though.

          • M’iau M’iaut

Many an EO girl is moe enough.

          • Spirit Macardi

I said cute, not moe. Class of Heroes is just pure adorable, almost to the level of Kirby or Klonoa.

And EO doesn’t let you choose from multiple races, nor does it have an air of goofiness and parody to it.

          • M’iau M’iaut

I have the first game so I understand what the devs were shooting for. And I’m not looking for a fight. Enjoy.

    • landlock

I guessing it’s partly because Acquire seem like one of those companies like From Software that have a real interest in bringing there games to the west. Making them easier to deal with.

“PS3 version” … “Additional voice-acting for NPCs” …Okay I think I can safely say I will give this series a chance when this release comes out. I’d like to support these kind of niche localisations as much as I can, even though I’m not the hugest fan of first-person dungeon crawlers…

  • pimpalicious

Nice. I was just thinking of finally picking up the PSP version so this announcement came at just the right time. I’ll wait for that now.

  • elementalknight

Does not make much sense to me.

    • D H

Well, they’ve already got the bulk of the localization work already done for 2, since they released the PSP version; it’s a lot easier to do a version that is just the same localization with minor updates than to translate an entire new game, and much more cost efficient; in theory, you stand to make a lot more on this release, as you can put less work into it, and therefore gain additional capital to work on the next release.

  • gk2012

Why can’t he just skip to 3. :/

    This isn’t a new port:

Now would they please consider Class of Heroes 3D on 3DS, a bone would be nice. :(

    • JonathanisPrimus

Isn’t that the fourth Class of Heroes game, which was then ported back to PSP as Final? Vic has only signed on to do 2 and 3.

  • Ladius

Apparently, Victor Ireland and Ken, his programmer, have created a WiiU-like dual screen feature for CoH2G that wasn’t in the Japanese version and is new to Sony consoles altogether (to the point of requiring some Sony support to be implemented, if I’m not mistaken): http://neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=94336741&postcount=152

    • X_Bacon

Now that’s interesting. I’m wondering why no one has bothered to do something like that before.

    • xXDGFXx

Wow, this is a pretty interesting amount of effort for a localization.

    • TheExile285

      That is pretty darn cool.

  • Rollersnake

I remember complaining back around the time of the CoH2 Kickstarter that he chose to bring over the PSP version instead of 2G, considering it was the better version of the same game, and for a more popular system. Aaaand now I won’t be getting 2G as I bought the damn PSP version and have already played it. But whatever— it’s a decent game, and now you won’t have to be a diehard supporter of a borderline-obsolete handheld to play it!

Never been a big fan of Vic Irelands views on translation, all the way back to the TG-16 CD. I will probably wait until reviews and game videos are out for this game. I never bought the PSP version for my Vita, as I never did the research on the quality of the translation for it, even though I do love Wizardry style games…

    • firstarioch

I simply cannot stand his arbitrary translations and the way he butchered games .
He really pissed off many game creators in Japan back in a day. Shining translation was completely retranslated foe Europe on Saturn by Sega .
His arrogant attitude also made him tough to deal with hence his problems with publishers .
If he was si universally loved and respected in Japan how come he can’t secure a decent game to release ?
Never felt sorry to see him go . Terrible visionary .

  • rekka_zan

I still think that they should’ve jumped to Chrono Academy instead… I hope they can be successful enough with these titles, looking forward to seeing a new ‘Working Designs’ company.

  • JuVu

So yeah, we still don’t have that original PSP game here in Europe… been waiting for it for half a year now. There’s something seriously wrong with this.
