Final Fantasy X HD Remaster Soundtrack Has Rearranged Songs On Blu-ray

By Spencer . December 27, 2013 . 2:00pm

One of the highlights in Final Fantasy X HD Remaster is rearranged music. Square Enix is selling the soundtrack now and it’s on a Blu-ray disc. The Final Fantasy X HD Remaster official soundtrack has visuals that go along with the audio and MP3 data on the disc, too.

While the Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster music is the same as the PlayStation 2 game, the soundtrack includes six songs from the Last Mission, an additional episode in Final Fantasy X-2 International, as a bonus.

The Final Fantasy X HD Remaster original soundtrack costs 5,250 yen ($50) on Blu-ray and the Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster soundtrack is 2,940 yen ($28).

the soundtrack comes free with the ps3 collectors edition right? Or is that something else entirely?

    • efholic

      I wouldn’t say “free”…

      • otakumike

ah yeah lol dunno why I wrote that xD
Was just wondering if the same soundtrack was included with your $80 purchase. :p

It’s not. Although it does contain some sort of soundtrack only that its in a bluray disc and is actually a image/video montage featuring the soundtrack of the game.

Having got a copy of the soundtrack…the bonus songs are from X-2 proper. I wouldn’t know whether they’re used in Last Mission or not, but unlike some of the songs on the X-2 International album, they aren’t exclusive.
There are three bonus tracks that were missing from the PS2 FFX soundtrack (Illusion, Nostalgia, and Wakka’s Theme, labeled as Bonus 1, Bonus 2, and Bonus 3 on the HD Remaster soundtrack. Bonus 3/Wakka’s Theme is only playable in the Sphere Theater in the PS2 version, dunno about the HD version. Illusion, which was one of the songs remastered for the HD version, does play in normal gameplay IIRC, I don’t remember where. Dunno about Nostalgia.). In addition, there’s some X-2 tracks (Eternity Memory of Lightwaves, YRP Battle themes 1 and 3, Leblanc’s battle theme, Besaid’s theme, the Youth Alliance theme, Yuna’s Ballad, the Farplane theme, the Vegnagun activation theme, and the epilogue theme).

EDIT: Nevermind, either the article has been corrected or, more likely, I misread it. Hell, I didn’t even know that the X-2 soundtrack had been re-released.

EDIT2: Nothing new or exclusive on the X-2 soundtrack at all, from the looks of it. The six bonus tracks can be found on the X-2 International + Last Mission soundtrack that came out in 2004.

Yerp, no remastered songs on X-2 at all. I have it myself as well.

Huh, for some reason my previous post didn’t go through for around 5 minutes. Ignore this post, it basically said the same thing.

Even “Real Emotion” by Koda Kumi, an AVEX artist?

    • Ryo-kun

      Lol it’s real emotion

Thanks for the correction; I’m old enough to remember the rage how FFX-2 is “estrogen poisoning” in Final Fantasy.

sounds like it’s the same video soundtrack on blu-ray that comes w/ the $80 CE on the S-E store? still wondering if I should get LE or CE :(…too bad it’s on blu-ray, I just want a regular rearranged soundtrack on CDs..

    • Eddie

Still in the same boat lol

    • Dagobert

I’m wondering if it is the same blu-ray that comes with the collectors edition. I already pre-ordered both versions just because of the damn cover art. Not sure if I’ll open the collectors edition though. I kind of wish it was a regular CD, but since it has visuals I think it would be nice to leave it playing on your TV.

      • Aoshi00

I’m pretty much its the same thing, just like the 13-2 CE had the Jpn 13-2 soundtrack.. I know, too bad CE doesn’t have the LE cover art above. I don’t want to miss the rearranged soundtrack in case it’s good, but not crazy about the plain white cover, and want this new blue cover.. still wondering if it’s worth $80, lithographs I don’t care too much.. but its artbook is bigger and more pages.. I could get LE from Best Buy w/ 20% off too.. I would decide once I play my Jpn import lol.. (I alrdy imported Jpn Drakengard 3 LE $270, and pre-ordered LR CE & D3 on the S-E store site, so another CE for X/X-2 HD feels like a lot..)

  • Am I the only one who thinks the following when I see this cover?
“Damn, Ellen DeGeneres’ new girlfriend is quite attractive.”

Speaking of Real Emotion, I wonder how Square Enix can manage to reacquire for the rights of the song, especially when it previously said it was broke, and not to mention AVEX’s copyright policies (yes, I still remember back in 2008 when AVEX was sending cease and desist notices on YouTube en masse).
