Even Complete Newbies Can Become Crazy Good Sengoku Basara 4 Players

By Eugene . January 12, 2014 . 1:58pm

At least, that’s what this video is implying. It’s Sengoku Basara 4 being picked up by a couple of tarento ladies as the video attempts to show us how easy the PlayStation 3 game will be, even if you just button mash.

If you’re into the game, this is great for giving footage of various characters like Shibata Katsuie or poster boy Date Masamune. If you’re not, well, er… you get to watch two newbies attempting to beat the game while looking stylistically cool.

Sengoku Basara 4 will be out for the PlayStation 3 on January 23rd. It will also have a full game trial for PS Plus Members in Japan.

Imagine Lu Bu coming to feudal Japan and just destroys the players… Forgive me, I’m just emotionally scarred from the hell that is Lu Bu…

    • DaiRaiOh

You obviously have never fought Honda on extreme difficulty in Sengoku 3. Lu Bu felt manageable in comparision

      • PreyMantis

Out of all the beat-’em-up games like these, I’ve only ever played Dynasty Warriors 2 and 3.

        • DaiRaiOh

It’s worth getting into newer ones. The Warriors series really got great after 7 and is even better in 8. Lu Bu got better with it considering he went from “Difficult but manageable” to “Ha, go f*** yourself you silly deluded bastard. How dare you fight me” as the series went on (Depending on if you play at an actual challenging difficulty of course)

          • PreyMantis

I’ve been planning that for awhile now, but it’s probably going to take me a bit more to get around them.

      • Chogokin

Tadakatsu’s final form in Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes is the hardest boss in any warriors game.

      • Servant BerserCAR

Among men, Lu Bu. Among Gundam, Honda Tadakatsu.

        • lyhthegreat .

i think that only applies for sengoku basara

          • Servant BerserCAR

Lol yep. I think I replied to the wrong post (supposed to Chogokin’s post). *derp.jpg*

Well yeah, it’s my bad. Carry on, guys.

        • J_Joestar

Among Gundam, its Musha Mk. II

    • Guest

all the Three Kingdoms characters can’t do anything there cuz they’re 80% fictional and 20% legit. Sengoku warriors are real.

      • Obviously, you’re joking.

      • Romancer Ecclesia

Agreed. The charisma and strength of the characters in the story are too exaggerated and romanticised. I don’t believe the real Lu Bu to be that OP back in the days.

        • wererat42

The warriors of Shu are also heavily romanticized.
Just off the top of my head, I’ve read accounts of Ma Chao slaughtering civilians.

          • Romancer Ecclesia

Not surprised. The stratagems in the Art of War can be extremely brutal when put to practical use. At a young age, I was shocked to learn that one was to force their villagers to flee directly straight into enemy lines, forcing the enemy to kill innocents as to lower their morale, thereafter soldiers from the same side of the civilians are ordered to take advantage and charge in to kill the demoralized enemy.

        • Alexander Marquis Starkey

Actually, while he isn’t super human, he still took on three guys in a duel and won.

        • Ferrick

the textbooks actually describe him as a considerably strong warrior, just that he has the tendency of biting the hand that feeds here and there, and he doesn’t have any charisma at all as that lead him to his downfall

      • lyhthegreat .

i think u meant the other way round, right?

      • J_Joestar

if you consider Sangoku to be a 80:20 fiction to truth, then Basara’s Sengoku is probably 99:1.

    • lyhthegreat .

Lu bu has been nerfed over the series throughout the years…he was no longer the overpowered enemy that he used to be way back in dynasty warriors 3…

      • Yeah, while he’s more stronger than DW7 in DW8, if you’re careful, he’s still easy. He truly was a beast in DW3.

  • Alex Sargeant

Still very relevant. I adore the bit where the camera is stuck behind a tower and she’s actually tilting her head to see past it.

Shibata looks really fun. Reminds me of how Raiden fights a bit in Rising.

  • makubexnas

i’m a single player gamer, do the game come with 3 japanese girls to play 4 player co-op with me?

    • 愛憎

      This feature is sold separately.

Honestly, I’m sure there are cafes in Japan for this.

  • Well, 90% of the fanbase are women, so…

Katsuie looks fun, he’s the newcomer I’m the most looking forward to play. Still… I miss mah Nouhime-sama. Be in the expansion, please. ♥

    • lyhthegreat .

yea..there’s like so few girls in this game..

      • That’s one of the things I hate in this series, to be honest. I’m not “GIVE ME MOAR FEMALES JUST BECAUSE”. But at least, I’d like to see Nouhime-sama and Itsuki again. Nouhime was so gorgeous and elegant. Shame.

        • Alexander Marquis Starkey

Unpopular, has to be rebuilt from the ground up in the new system. Nou and Ranmaru have been mentioned several times in promotional materials around Nobunaga so they should show up in some way or form, but they are far from priority when working on a new game.

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

Actually 90% of the event attendees are women, the actual player base is a 60 to 40 split in the men’s favor.

  • fairysun

I want the poster behind them. But without the wording and release date.
