JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle will be released “throughout the Americas” in 2014, Namco Bandai said this morning, alongside an announcement that the game will see a limited run of physical copies released exclusively via Amazon and ClubNamco.com.

The Western release of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle will also feature a “brand new mode not seen in the original Japanese release”. This will take the shape of an Arcade Mode, which lets players fight through eight CPU opponents.

Namco add that, “On rare occasions, the Arcade Mode icon will switch to Harvest when connected online, allowing players to earn more gold when they complete matches.” Additionally, the game will also feature balance changes applied to the game post-launch in Japan.

So Buccellati was changed to Bucciarati? Huh. In any case, notice Shigekiyo is there in the last screenshot. Wonder if this means we’re getting the DLC included for free. Just glad we’re FINALLY getting English screenshots. & cool on Arcade Mode being added.

& THANK YOU, Namco, for having physical copies available on Amazon in addition to your Club Namco store.

Edit: Not up on Amazon yet, but here’s the Club Namco pre-order page: http://store.namcobandaigames.com/store/namcous/en_US/pd/productID.296650600#.Uuqp-fldWSo

$50 instead of the usual $60.

Edit 2: Club Namco states ” Variety of Characters: 41 total for an incredible selection of characters” so it sounds as though we’re getting the 9 DLC characters included for free?

    • MrSirFeatherFang

Funny thing is, in JoJoveller it has both Bucciarati as the official romanization on one page. And then on another page, there’s Buccellati lol

      • z_merquise

        I prefer ‘Buccellati’.

  • Roberto

    that nice thanks namco

  • KuroNathan

does this game still have the energy system for story mode?

    • MrSirFeatherFang

No, the energy thing was never for story mode, it was for the campaign. From what I remember, campaign is for unlocking stuff, like costumes and other extras.

      • KuroNathan

ah my bad, but does this version still have the energy system?

        • MrSirFeatherFang

As far as I know, yes :(
At least we’re getting the game after all its various patches.

          • Ou7

Pretty sure they said they were scrapping it in time for Western release.

          • MrSirFeatherFang

Are you sure? The Campaign mode was designed around that battery system thing. Last I read, we’re pretty much getting the same thing as the current Japanese version, with the exception of this recent news, now we have an Arcade mode.

          • Ou7

Yeah somehow I confused it with the pay for battery and boss time thing. My bad.

          • MrSirFeatherFang

Oh, it’s alright. In recent news, there’s going to be an update to make the charge/wait time 2 minutes!

    • ZeroDenzi

Energy was only for campaign mode. That’s where you can unlock extra stuff like poses, phrases, and colors. Story mode didn’t have that and you can just unlock characters in that mode

  • MrTyrant

This is awesome! thx Namco *posing*

  • TheExile285

Namco is on a roll. Depending on when it releases, I may have grab this.

  • Cephrien

    WHAT.

Man– might have to pick this up. Even though I already have the Japanese version. x.x

  • Rafael Martines

Finally screenshots without name in kanji, i liked the fonts

  • Monterossa

So I can’t buy this game anywhere but Amazon and Namco online store?

    • Kelohmello

Gonna guess at a PSN release as well.

    • Elliott Moon

I wonder if it will be similar in Europe or even if it will get released around the same time in Europe

    • DemonShadowX

From how it sounds it’s going to be a PSN release like One Piece Pirate Warriors 1&2 and Saint Seiya were. But there’s also going to be a limited run of physical copies.

  • Jesse

Seems there’s a debut trailer as well:

  • koksuckaahh

Does club namco or amazon accept money orders?, i want a physical copy of this so bad!

  • JustThisOne

Crap. A limited run, huh? *__*

    • MrSirFeatherFang

At least it’s not a Steel Ball run :V
Imagine, going across the continent just for one copy of a game!?!

      • AkuLord3

        If i could turn into a Raptor…Sure why not~

  • Scipio

    FFUUUUUUUUUU-
    Limited Release?
I guess I’ll have to pre-order it right away like with Drakengard 3.

  • Weeb

Ugh. Digital River is still handling stuff for the Namco site? This is making a bit hesitant on ordering from there after the whole Ni No Kuni Wizard’s Edition scenario.

  • DemonShadowX

So buying this game….. Again! Now just debating on trying to snag a physical copy or just get the PSN release.

  • Ni ~SHE MUST NOT BE FORGOTTEN~

what about the stupid F2P MMO system in the campaign mode, did it got removed?

    • Lloyd Christmas

I still don’t get the complaints about that mode. O.o

      • notentirelythere

It’s tied to an energy system that’s DESIGNED to artificially extend the game’s life without having to add new content. It’s also just not a very polite business practice, restricting the pace at which one’s allowed to enjoy a game they’ve -already payed for- in a mode mainly for unlocking -on disc content-.

        • Lloyd Christmas

I should have been more clear. I know what it is, I just don’t get why people always complain about it because I’ve never found it bothersome.

Then again, I don’t really play video games for more than an hour on average.

  • Otocyon

Will physical copies be available at Amazon Canada or only at Amazon US?

  • BillyMK

Glad they added it. The lack of an arcade mode bothered me in the japanese version. I guess I’ll have to buy this version as well.

  • Guy Wesley

I might actually get this, physical copy or not.
I gotta read more Steel Ball Run…

  • Lloyd Christmas

I own a Japanese copy but I’ll be buying both the limited physical along with the digital version. I just want to support Jojo in the west as much as I can.

  • hazelnut1112

“alongside an announcement that the game will see a limited run of physical copies released exclusively via Amazon and ClubNamco.com”

Jesus Christ, was gonna hold out on buying this game but I’m definitely gonna get two copies of this if this is how it’s gonna go down.

  • landlock

Seems like it’s getting a full retail release in Europe as I have mine pre-ordered at Shopto.com.

  • TheGameTagerZ

I really prayed for them to take the Campaign out. Grinding for costumes and that battery system made it feel like I was playing a mobile game.

    Sigh…

  • Learii

    get us J-Stars VS please

  • leingod

So, there’s no certain release date yet? Can’t wait to play it. I also wanna see how they’ll deal with “problematic” names, like ACDC and such :P

  • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

Gotta know when its up on Amazon so I can snag it quick

  • kakashi100

does the japanese version also have the balance patch and when is it getting the arcade mode ?
