Kemco’s 3D RPG Is Out Now In English

By Eugene . February 3, 2014 . 3:30pm

To ring in the new year last month, we brought word of the localization of Alphadia Genesis, Kemco’s big bet on a melding of 3D and 2D RPGs. We’ve now got word that the game is available in English on Android.

Alphadia Genesis features Japanese original voiceovers. While in the overworld, the game plays out in 2D, but battles are in 3D utilizing the Unity engine.

To recap, the story’s about the two kingdoms of Archleign and Ghalzabine. Once at war with each other and having used clones to fight them, these Energi clones are now repurposed to serve society peacefully, Isaac Asimov “Three Rules of Robotics” style.

Until a murder that shouldn’t have happened… well, does.

Fray’s the man charged with looking into it alongside Corone. Along for the investigation is emotionless clone Enah who Fray discovers and becomes master of. Other classic RPG stereotypes like energetic loli Aurra or old man Grande. Once you’re done, you could then go on to Alphadia 2, which is the sequel set 200 years later. Enah, apparently, is still kicking it there.

Alphadia Genesis is out now on Android and coming soon for iOS.

The Year of the RPGs gets +1 game.

    • Pedro Furtado

      Isn’t that every year?

  • Damn. It looked great until I realized it was for Android. Something like this would play nicely on the 3DS as well in my opinion.

    • Akemi Homura

I was interested until I saw that it was for Android. My phone isn’t good enough to play these kinds of games ):

      • Time for an upgrade lol =)

        • Morricane

Shouldn’t it be enough that people have to upgrade their PCs!!!

    • Tinye

I suppose I wouldn’t mind playing RPG’s on my kindle but I 110% prefer my Vita (or insert hand-held) over a phone or tablet. I just wish it was easier to ‘port’ these things over or somehow make it so the andriod/iOS can emulate on our hand-helds. Meh

Kemco has released two of their other iOS games on PSP. They may release this on Vita.

        • Tinye

Didn’t know that, that’s good info. Thanks

Dang, do we really have that much iOS/Android gamers for you to receive that many down votes?

      • Idk lol. Bots maybe. My comment wasn’t just Android Hate either. I just don’t really like the controls and feel of playing games on my phone for the most part. Either way at the moment it has the most upvotes and downvotes XD

        • Morricane

I actually tend to use my DS stylus when playing touchscreen games on my phone hahaha :D

        • Crimson_Cloud

I don’t have a phone for it, but even if I did, I would still not play it on my phone. I’m just an old school gamer who likes to sit on a couch and stare at the TV.. :3

          • And there’s nothing wrong with that =)

    • Dang, so many dislikes

      • Yeah lol

        • Crimson_Cloud

Quite a few people and their mothers united against you. XD Honestly, I don’t see the reason. You weren’t trolling, just stated normal opinion.

  • Chaos_Knight

It would be a nice if the overworld was in 3D, but oh well. Overall, this a big step up for Kemco.

  • Just checked on the market; $4.00 (don’t think it was stated in the article)

  • Icedus

I’m mostly just impressed the humble developer of The Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout is still around in 2014. Good on them.

  • Nhazul

Honestly I’d take well animated 2D sprites over half-assed 3D animated models. The 3D looks like a bad joke. But it’s another RPG and the art is wonderful. I’d get it for iOS if it happened to come out.

  • EvaUnitO2

Just bought all three games. Good lookin’ out!

  • Kai2591

Seems interesting. Jap audio is a huge plus.
What bugs me though is that they don’t seem to actually make contact with the enemy when attacking…they just stand there and move a bit and all a sudden the enemy gets damaged….I understand if its the long range attackers, but the melee units simply look ridiculous like that…

Otherwise, the story and premise sounds interesting, what with the clones and all that stuff with robotic philosophy (I like those kind of stuff). I might just buy it once the iOS version comes out.

btw, Enah looks wayy too much like Iona from Arpeggio of Blue Steel…

  • Collette dyed her hair blue?!

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

I was about to say that XD

    • I am so glad I wasn’t the only one who immediately thought that.

I know character design will overlap sometimes, but man.

    • sd28

i can see mint in the corner

  • Zoozbuh

If this wasn’t a budget Android game made by a small developer, I wouldn’t give it a second look. I mean the graphics look pretty basic and amateur… BUT I guess because it’s on a phone and it’s such a low price, it could be worth a look. Good for them, for at least trying to branch out into 3D games I guess?
