J-Stars Victory Vs. Busts Out It’s "Laughter" Fighters Like Bobobo-bo And Luckyman

By Spencer . February 23, 2014 . 11:14pm

While J-Stars Victory Vs. doesn’t have three character types like Jump Ultimate Heroes, Bandai Namco made sure to add some laughter class characters in the game. Bobobo-bo fights with his deadly nose hairs and Luckyman sparkles in battle. Here’s a look atfour more characters in the anime crossover fighting game.

Bobobo-bo from Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo

Gon from Hunter X Hunter

Korosensei from Assassination Classroom

Luckyman from Tottemo! Luckyman

Small correction: Jump Ultimate Stars, not Jump Ultimate Heroes.

Anyway, Bobobo and Korosensei are basically the two reasons I’m getting this game, so them getting gameplay videos at the same time was a pleasant surprise for me. They both look really fun; Bobobo in particular completely exceeded my expectations.

  • katamari damacy

Don Patch is not a separate character. Sad face :(

    • BalmungX

Well, since they work together,i can hope for Bobopatch as a transformation at least

      • Salvador Sandoval

        And Patchbobo!

  • Monterossa

    No Superstar Man?

  • Gotta give it to Bandai Namco. They don’t just give a fighting game awesome characters, they also give it silly characters. And these guys are as silly as silly goes.

  • Ben Sylvia

I can’t remember, is the vita region locked? And if not, what’s a quick and cheap way to learn Japanese? XD

    • Bobby Jennings

      No it isn’t region locked.

    • Minos

You need to format the SD each time you change area, so either download the games of each area each day you want to play them or buy another card.

      • No Items Ever

Only if you want to access the Japanese PSN. You can still play Japanese games on your US/EU account without switching your memory though.

    • Wappuli

      For physical versions, nope.
But all digital content is account locked, so if you’re planning on download version of the game, or getting DLC for it, then you’ll need to play it with Japanese account.

    • British_Otaku

This game should both be region friendly (easy to navigate for people with no knowledge of the language) and have dozens of guides in every language.

Wappuli, Minos and No Items Ever covered all of the points as far as the Vita being region free. It is more region free than the 3DS (which isn’t aside from classic DS games), but less region free than the PSP or DS which were champions in the last generation.

  • Raze

Bobobo bo is voiced by Koyasu? lol…

I wonder when will Gintoki get his video…

    • Internet is Crash

He voiced Neuro in the anime as well. And also a certain Vampire..

      • Raze

        • Hagaren

          Dio from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.

          • Raze

Well I know that but Dio isn’t in this game…

            Why mention him?

          • Lloyd Christmas

            The more you know.

          • Not in the game? Heh, the plan is working already, kupo…

  • Bobby Jennings

    Gon is amazing.

  • megaten666

So they thought it’s okay to make a nose-hair fighter playable, but made Allen Walker a support.
Still gonna import this, but seriously now…

    • James Williams

What’s wrong with making the better series playable?

      • Ferrick

        that’s pretty subjective there bud

      • megaten666

Just feels strange. If Bobobo is an actual fighter in it’s own series, that’s okay. But how come that characters from Nisekoi and To Love-Ru are playable and they are not even serious fighters? Some choices are quite questionable to be honest.
(I’m aware of some stupid japanese poll that decides who’s gonna be in the game, but come on :/)

        • Tiinchox

Neither Chitoge nor Lala are playable characters, they are all support… Like they said before, D.Grayman switched to Monthly Shounen Jump, so that may be the reason for Allen being support…

          • megaten666

            Then I apologise.

    • No Items Ever

I think that has more to do with D.Gray-man’s falling out with SJ and switching to Monthly Shounen Jump. Bo^7 has always been a fan favorite in Japan, even when the second series Shintetsu actually tried being SERIOUS (Yes I kid you not), it still worked out pretty alright.

Personally if I did have to choose even if Allen could be playable, I’d still go with Bobobo, just because he seems a lot more fun to play as, and is much more enjoyable imo.

  • Rayhan PromisedGallery

    no adult form for Gon?

    • Blaz

Probably using the anime as a reference instead of the manga. Otherwise, “Ant King” Meurem would also be in the game.

  • The only one who might have a chance against Korosensei is perhaps the Comedy cast and, well, Gon and Killua. He can pull Mach Speed 20, all his tentacles are multipurpose (even he doesn’t know how many he owns), and he is one of the smartest, yet most cunning beings in the multiverse. So much that, for a seemingly villainous threat to our world, he is a pretty damn good teacher! Not to mention, his weaknesses are things that more than 80% of the cast do not possess.

Good luck with that, Goku & friends. Because you’re gonna get schooled! Don’t tease the octopus now, kids!

    • Salvador Sandoval

      What about Medaka or Goku?

  • SerendipityX

If Bobobo-bo actually has those ridiculous transformations (with don patch and jelly jiggler), this just became a must buy.

    • Probably something to unlock. Although, Jelly Jiggler is an NPC in the game, so I can’t say what else would be his role in the story/game.

  • dahuuuundge

So Don Patch is pretty much Bobobo’s Stand now.

    • DeAndre Atchison

  • Valtiel Ikari

you want funny characters!? then put Hentai Kamen in it!
this is a necesity for the entire world!

  • Gemlit

    J-Stars Victory in EVO 2014?

  • Spirit Macardi

The only thing missing is that awesome intro music: “SAY WHAT?! BOBOBO!”

I miss that show so much. Even with the limitations of the dub airing on Cartoon Network, Jeff Nimoy managed to keep all the fun and insanity intact.

    • Not to mention, Wild Challenger (the original Opening Theme, and the one you’re talking about) was left intact in the dub!

  • DeAndre Atchison

    Joseph and Johnathan videos when?
