Gundam’s pilots are generally pretty fit looking, but they surely must burn tons of energy getting shot up all the time. Enter the newest creation from the minds at Bandai—the Gundam donut. These tasty treats are available now (thanks, Rocket News) exclusively from any of the Gundam cafés scattered across Japan.
The white Gundam version has a white chocolate coating…
While Char’s Custom Red Zaku is represented in strawberry flavored chocolate. By itself, that probably wouldn’t have done the trick, but adding in the details of the red eye of the Zaku on top of chocolate strips or the antenna and yellow eyes on Gundam mechs helps flesh it out. Yes, these are intended to give you a serious sugar rush.
Each donut costs 320 yen (US$3.20) which sounds a little pricy for the novelty factor, but at least you can tell the world you’re strong enough to eat Gundams for breakfast.
The Gundam cafés are located at Odaiba’s Diver City mall (Which has the only permanent 18m tall Gundam. It even moves. I’ve seen it and it is badass with the sunset), Makuhari Shintoshin’s AEON Mall (pictured, which serves ZEON-themed stuff and opened just last December), Akihabara and Tokyo Station.
