Compile Heart’s Galapagos RPG Are Already Working On Their Second Game

Compile Heart’s Galapagos RPG label was created to focus more on developing RPGs specifically for Japanese customers. Fairy Fencer F was the brand’s first game, and according to this week’s issue of Famitsu, the studio has already started working on a second such title.

When asked about whether they’ve already started working on a new title, here’s what some of Compile Heart’s key developers had to say.

“The development of Galapagos RPG’s second game? It’s already in the works. I believe we’ll be able to show it off very soon,” said producer Norihisa Kochiwa.

“Today, I brought along our plan book. I can show you guys the cover, but other than that, the rest is a secret,” added director Kenta Sugano.

While the cover doesn’t show much apart from the words “Galapagos RPG 2nd,” when Famitsu asked for just another little hint, Compile Heart opened a notebook to draw a “ *ω* ” emoticon or kaomoji, which is said to be a big keyword for their upcoming game.

They also mention that they will be revealing this new game game in the near future, and will be talking about just what kind of game it will be.

Oh, right; I don’t think Makai Shin Trillion is a Galapagos RPG title.

  • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

A RPG with kaomoji-based attacks, perhaps? (Think Histoire.)

I look forward to seeing more info about this game.

  • Kornelious

Oh this thing again, y’know if anything FFF seems more “normal” than Compile Hearts other stuff if anything (Though I will have to confirm this when it’s released :D)

  • Sentsuizan_93

Ooh. Think I’ll keep an eye on this one~

Thats cool. FFF was great but got really boring and it was way too damn easy. I did like the story and characters thouhg.

    • AkuLord3

Found it great but boring…can’t be both man! WHiCH IS IT?!

      • FitzpatrickPhillips

Haha. It was great overall but it got boring and dragged after the halfway point. A good game with tons of issues.

        • Göran Isacson

Aah, a pity. Since you liked the story and characters, I can presume the flaws weren’t so much in the writing as it was, say, dungeons that dragged/recycled visual assets/became too numerous? A fighting system that got dull and unchallenging? Something along those lines, rather than a plot that made you roll your eyes?

          • FitzpatrickPhillips

            Yep, thats it exactly.

          • Göran Isacson

Aaah, harsh. Funny thing is that I’m now kind of interested to play it just to see if it can be my “anti-Bravely Default”. I freaking LOVE the battle system of BD, even if the plot got progressively less and less interesting (no idea if you’ve actually played it so I’ma say no more than that from fear of spoilers). Sounds like FFF is the opposite, if it becomes a slog to play but a joy to “read”, so to say.

          • FitzpatrickPhillips

I haven’t gotten too far in BD but I heard it falls off after Chapter 5 or something like that, haha. Yeah FFF is definitely a game you play for the characters and story (which got surprisingly dark at times). The gameplay is good as an idea but the execution is so lame because of how mind numbingly easy it is. Picture this: I went through at least 50% of the game totally forgetting to upgrade my characters and skills and STILL had no trouble. Then when I did upgrade them, it was nuke city.

  • Alestaos

So is FFF actually coming to the west or not?

  • Kari

emoticon or kaomoji…. Not another Phone game?

What is the point of the label, exactly? EVERYTHING Compile Heart does is already 100% for the Japanese market. That other publishers localize them for other markets is something they never even consider when developing titles like Hyper Dimension Neptunia, Mugen Souls, or… whatever that card game is called that’s coming to Vita…Moero Chronicles/Monster Monpiece
