Which Girl Will You Pick In The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening?

By Sato . April 30, 2014 . 3:32pm

The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening will have you playing as Shin, a new god with exceptional powers; however, even gods can’t easily solve the problems of a triangle relationship, like the one you’ll be a part of in the game. 4Gamer gives us another look at some of the choices you’ll be making.

First, here’s a look at one of the new characters:

Mariel Soraumi is Jupiel’s sister, and is said to possess the strongest offensive abilities in all the heavens. While she’s considered a bit on the younger side as an angel, she’s been personally selected by the Archangel to help out thanks to her abilities.

Mariel’s ultimate goal is to defeat the demons and bring victory to the heavens. While she is quite the determined young angel, she occasionally makes harsh judgments for the better cause.

While Mariel will be one of the key characters, most of the events will surround her sister Jupiel, along with the red-haired Arle Agarie. These events will put the protagonist in all kinds of situations, where you’ll be prompted to make certain selections between the two heroines.

Of all the events the game has to offer, the most important ones called “the ultimate choices” will have a bigger impact on the story. One of the earlier ones will make you choose which heroines you’ll be sharing rooms with.

Here’s a closer look at what you’ll get depending on your selection.

Like Mariel’s, Jupiel’s room is cute and full of stuffed animals that she personally made herself. She may be strict at times, and other times kind and gentle towards the protagonist. She’ll start out a bit more on the reserved side, but over time she’ll open up and show her true personality.

Unlike Jupiel’s room, Arle’s is practically a laboratory that is full of all kinds of experiments. She treats the protagonist like some sort of test subject, but displays a gentle side when he’s feeling down or when the two are alone. As you advance through the story with Arle, a serious relationship will develop.

There will be various intervals throughout the game that will give you choices that favor either of the characters, and since there won’t be a mutual routine, you’ll be required to pick one or the other. Depending on which girl you side with more often, your bond will strengthen with them, the scenarios will also vary accordingly.

The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening will be released on July 24, 2014 for PlayStation 3.

    Catherine – The RPG

I probably wont want to play through twice so I will let early adopters decide which route is better.

  • Tetris

Totally going to choose Arle. Even with that horribly god ugly pink room out of the equation I’d choose Arle.

    • chibidw

Game’s not even out yet and we’ve already formed team Arle.

      • OrangeArmy

It’s only fair, the first game denied me my “Cheriel Route”, so I join the alliance. I liked Liliel in the first one and I like Mariel and all, but big breasteses devil girls are my jam.

  • biskmater

I absolutely never noticed that was a labcoat…

    • Same here. I thought it was like a dress or something lol

  • CDM

I’m already quite set on Arle, but too bad Mariel isn’t in the running…

  • Hau To

What I would like to know if it’s really going to be July? I checked Playasia, and it says September of 2014. Now, which one is the right one?

    • DesmaX

      September. It got delayed

      • Hau To

Ah. I see. Thanks for that.

  • ReMeDyIII

“Which Girl Will You Pick In The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening?…”

    ::Looks at Japan icon::

    Answer: None of them.

    • Ladius

It’s a NIS game and it isn’t a visual novel, there’s no reason to think they won’t localize it at least as a digital release.

    • Firekitty

The first game was released in the west, so why wouldn’t this one be?

  • They’re both lovely, but probably going to choose Arle first for

    • Loli Summoner

I gonna pick her first too~ Why? well because she looks more mature and….she has red hair, also…BOOBIES!

I’ve been thinking…how come there is never a game like this where you play as a girl and you get to pick a hot guy? Little unfair :T

      • itsjustmeyo

There’s actually quite a lot of those. They just don’t usually make it out of Japan.

        • Loli Summoner

Oh? Like an actual rpg like this?
I know there’s a lot of visual novels where you play a girl and picks guys(I’ve played a lot ^^), but I’ve never seen a rpg. Maybe I should search more.

          • itsjustmeyo

Oh yeah, it’s more or less Visual Novels. I thought you just meant games in general where you play as a girl and choose a guy. But yeah on the RPG front, I don’t think I know of any.

          • MrTyrant

The closest I think of is Atelier because in some of them where you play as girl if you choose the guys ending it feels like a reverse harem lol I think the older ones in japan have this. Although most people nowayday play them to see sligh yuri events because you also have girls endings.

      • Yeah, Arle seems to be the favorite here lol.

As for playing as a girl and choosing hot guys, I think it’s the fact that a lot of developers think that most games portraying a male aspect will sell more.

        • Loli Summoner

          Yeah I think so too~

  • MrTyrant

Mariel looks better than Jupiel. It’s a pity that you cannot chose her. I would choose Arle, always loved teh scientist girls and normaly they aren’t love interest in most stories so It will be interesting to see.

    • Cheesy12

Yup, I would rather pick Mariel than the main two >_<

    • Firekitty

I totally agree…If Mariel were a choice, there’d actually BE a choice. Between Jupiel and Arle, it’s gonna be Arle all the way.

    • Kai2591

And yes scientist girls need justice.

  • Earthjolly

Before I start let us all appreicate and weep in the fact the guided fate paradox had one of the most epic final boss themes, that many people will sadly never hear.

Now. I will choose the one that invites me to dinner first

    • Ladius

To be honest, the whole TGFP soundtrack is pretty awesome, Yousei Teikoku was the perfect match for the game’s themes and overall mood. I hope they will return for the OST of Cross Thesis.

    • MrTyrant

Funny I don’t like that singer and hated most of her themes in the game yet the final boss theme was really cool I loved the song.

    • IsaacGravity

Thanks for the share. Normally, I’m fine with Yousei Teikoku but I much prefer this track without the vocals.

      • Earthjolly

Then I must be the only one who loves the vocals.

  • Arcana Drill

Can I ditch the younger sis for the elder one? :V
Either way, probably will go for the demon girl.

  • otakumike

true answer: new game+, choose both.

  • OrangeArmy

Do I have to choose? I don’t wanna! Oh well, I guess I am partial towards Arle, I always prefer the red-haired nee-san character. For example, Forte Stollen is best Galaxy Angel girl.

  • WyattEpp

“Sorry, Mister New God: due to budget cuts you have to share your room with a sister stereotype or a yandere scientist.”

Can’t I just take the couch?

    • MrTyrant

      Yandere? where?

      • neocatzon

That one with pink room! (I hope)

    • Göran Isacson

Alas. Free will is an illusion, mister Epp. All there is is the choice set for you by your moe-designing overlords. You will choose one stereotype and gosh darn it, you will like it.

  • DesmaX

Man, how can someone sleep at rooms so bright?

  • God

Can i choose neither and go on team Santanael? (Team Relativism)
If i can’t, then i guess i’ll go with the demon, anything to bring the downfall of those damn self-righteous hypocrite angels… and for science.

  • Mind0105A

  • ShootThatWay

Definitely choosing Aruru for namesake and science.
Although, Jupiel looks like she might have a BFS on her back. But that’s probably not the case.
    Arle for sure.

  • Ksatmata

60% People are choosing Jupiel in the website

    • MrTyrant

They loved blonde warrior / angels don’t they? like always not surprised there. Still they should vote to include Mariel as love interest D:

  • Earthjolly

DId they change Satanaels name to Satanadia?

    • DyLaN

In the original game it was Satanadia IIRC. The localization changed it to Satanael.

  • Kornelious

Interesting choices indeed, None of them seem necessarily evil, but just opposites based on your personal preference. I’ll probally choose Jupiel (Guess that’s just my type) So this game will warrant a replay! I can’t wait for this game’s release and inevitable localization :D

  • Pdugna

So without spoiling to much how is this related to The Guided Fate Paradox? or is it at all?

    • DyLaN

It takes place a few years after TGFP events and Lilliel/Kuroiel/Cheriel/Lanael/Neliel will be returning.

  • s07195

I’d choose Arle. Can’t resist tsurime eyes. >.>

    • X_Bacon

Good to know I’m not the only one who cares about tsurime

  • ztype

While I love the kinpatsu i’ll probably go with Arle,

  • Callonia

    I’m definitely picking Arle.
Jupiel’s room was so friggin bright to the point where it hurt my eyes.

  • Namuro

    It’s settled then, everyone…

    Jupiel must DIE!!

Sorry, Jupy-tan, but Arle-sama is just so irresistibly charming…

  • Vash bane

“there won’t be a mutual routine”

well that just burst my bubble

    • DyLaN

The same was said for T&E but there was a harem route IIRC.

      • M’iau M’iaut

Why would you mention that game here? Not that its specifically an off-topic matter. But it’s that game.

        • DyLaN

Its the closest thing I can think of.

          • M’iau M’iaut

We don’t know that any of these girls not only wish to kill the MC, but actively attempt such.

  • neocatzon

Jupiel’s room is like a permanent flashbang.

    • M’iau M’iaut

I wonder if the game will waste time TELLING us pink and yellow are her favorite colors.

      • neocatzon

Then she said it’s like the color of our intestines.

  • Notquitesure?

Wouldn’t you end up sacrificing the one you love, because it would be selfish to sacrifice someone not personally close to you.

  • EtherealEarth

Will choosing the choices equally for both women result in harem route? XD

Kidding. I personally like Arle >///<

  • Yan Zhao

    Leaning towards the redhead cause….redhead.

    • Sylveria Shini

That is one of the most important criteria.

  • M’iau M’iaut

I’ll pick Jupiel because she should look cuter sleeping in the canopy bed while you are crammed into the tiny thing beside her or that couch. Arle you will find drunk and passed out somewhere on the floor.

  • William Carpenter

I find Arle’s design way more interesting and cool compared to the relatively boring Soraumi sisters, but maaaan does the whole “you’re my test subject” scientist archetype thing bother me. I get that these are cartoon characters, and that they’re suppose to act goofy and over-the-top, but I just can’t take that kind of archetype seriously at all. Reminds me of Miriel from Fire Emblem: Awakening, who was just completely boring and always benched in my playthrough.
