Woah, I guess they got around the architecture problem. Awesome!

    • notentirelythere

      What’s the architecture problem?

      • Daru Titor

They tried this around 2 years ago, but encountered problems with the emulator.

Now, they’ve managed to resolve the problem(s)
and release them as PS2 classics.
(So now fans can enjoy them as much as they want:)

        • DesmaX

“kinda”. Heard DDS doesn’t run very good on the PS3

          • Daru Titor

Have you tried it on the PS3?
I’ve played it for 4 hours so far,
            no problems yet.

  • And the Vita in all of this?

    • DesmaX

      Vita doesn’t support PS2 Classics

      • Somebodyissilent

Yet. Maybe one day Sony will allow it.

        • DesmaX

I dunno. The PS3 had remnants of the PS2 Emulator, which allow these games to work.

I don’t think the Vita was made with PS2 emulation in mind

      • That was me wishful thinking lol. We all know 3DS can handle GBA games and Vita PS2 games. Was expressing how much it would be cool to have the library of handhelds open up even more.

        • Ric Vazquez

Or they could make an HD collection for the Vita, now that is wishful thinking XD

  • Venus in Furs.

Awesome, the DDS games were some of my favorite games for the PS2. They’re actually how I got into the SMT series; I was hooked on the demon and character designs.

  • Great news! Finished a good piece of the first already arriving in Ajna.

  • Nanaki

How does the PS2 classic version of DDS1 look on the PS3 for HDTVs? Is there much a difference, if any at all?

  • Sinful

    Atlus.. I want your babies…

  • I’m ready for the slaughter.

  • kinda wish they fixed the slowdown on the first game… ;l

    • aizen310

Are there slowdowns in what they released as a PS2 Classic?

  • I haven’t even started the first one (been busy with Nocturne and other games) and they’re releasing the second one already xD

    • DeAndre Atchison

I don’t blame you. After the sales of both etrian odysseys, over clocked, nocturne, and p4, I’m kinda out of my game budget for a while. Selling my soul to a company does help.

  • Kickin’. Good on you, Atlus. I really should get them soon.

Meanwhile, I’ll be waiting for NISA to release gems like Soul Nomad to PS2 Classics. (I really want to replay Soul Nomad now.)

  • atlus has been murdering my wallet lately

  • Richard N

And now for the disappointing conclusion.

    • I Believe You Call It…Hate

It’s definitely goofy, but the fights I most want to replay are in this one so I’ll be glad to have it.

The main thing I’m not looking forward to is that awful running animation.

Atlus is awesome! SMT: Nocturne, Devil Summoner and now both DDS games. Thank you very much! I didn’t get to finish DDS2 on the PS2 so now I get the chance to do it. Now we only need Devil Summoner.

Also, since Atlus managed to release DDS on the PSN maybe XSEED will be able to release PS2 Wild Arms too. I would gladly grab those as well.

    • I Believe You Call It…Hate

Hear hear on Devil Summoner. Soulless Army was my first modern Megaten game, and between it not being the type of game I was looking for and the fact that it’s just clunky as hell, I was really disappointed. But I’m enjoying it a lot more now that I’ve caught up with everything else, and hearing that King Abaddon is a pretty massive step up in gameplay has me really intrigued.

      • Daru Titor

        I liked King Abaddon too.
It’s definitely better than SArmy gameplay wise.
For example, controlling 2 demons, negotiating, etc.
Whereas in SArmy, you capture demons once they’ve
been hit with their weakness(agi, etc).

I played the sequel first, because the original was
rare at the time. I do have both(unopened) from the reprint.

    • Zero_Destiny

They’ll most likely will need the go ahead of Sony as well since Sony owns the property, and XSeed seems plenty swamped with all their current projects.

But it’s not all in vein, Wild Arms 1 and Wild Arms 2 made it on PSN from Sony, and WA1 was even featured in PS Plus as a freebie for awhile. So it’s not forgotten at least. With the recent attention the series has gotten as well, we may see more put up on PSN. I’m still waiting on Suikoden II, myself. C’mon Konami. >___>

      • JCTXS

Wild Arms 1 was “free” entirely for PSVita owners, I don’t recall it being a PS+ title.

  • Arcade Bumstead

Cool now start on the PS4 version of the PS2 classics emulator

    • Daru Titor

      That’s a joke, right?
You can’t even play digital PS3 games on it,
let alone PS2(digital or disc) atm.

Best case, wait 18 months and maybe they’ll start
      working on it then.

  • Göran Isacson

Aw yes. Might actually be able to play the conclusion, at long last.

  • More games and not enough money

  • Vash bane

I really hope this series get a sequel some where in the future :3
