Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed Struts To Europe In October

By Spencer . July 14, 2014 . 11:20pm

image NIS America will bring Akbia’s Trip: Undead & Undressed to Europe. Acquire’s game brings players to Akihabara where vampire-like Synthisters are hiding in plain sight. The only way to defeat Synthisters is to expose them to sunlight with strip actions. Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed has real world locations like retro game haven Super Potato and maid cafes to visit.

Akbia’s Trip: Undead & Undressed for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita comes out in Europe on October 10. Xseed will release the English version in North America in August. Still no word about the PlayStation 4 version which came out in Japan a few weeks ago.

  • Shady Shariest

Wait wat. I wasn’t expecting this to come over :3

    • M’iau M’iaut

It will be digital only, censored, and JP language with ENG text.

      • Shady Shariest

That last one is a plus, first one is a meh ( I have space), middle one is left for discussion when more detail arrives.

        • M’iau M’iaut

All the guys will wear thongs and the girls will have thunderstorms raging around their private areas.

          • Shady Shariest

I can make bad jokes about that. Thunderstorms instead of thongs or panties… That would be rad :D

          • Shippoyasha

            Thunder Panties. Edgy.

          • Shady Shariest

Would take that over an actual crotch in a game anyday :D

          • darke

I’ve now got the “Thunder Cats” theme running through my head modified to “Thunder Pantsu”. I’m not entirely thankful. :?

Granted the imagery of “Thunder pantsu are on the move, thunder pantsu are loose” does fit the theme of the game.

        • wyrdwad

Well, our American version is dual voice (and dual text!), so presumably the European one will be as well. ;)

          • Shady Shariest

Oooh. Dual Text! That is an interesting feature.

      • Thatguy

That is a sad word in video games

        • Shady Shariest

But lets wait for actual info before jumping the gun =W=

        • DesmaX

He’s just joking. Game won’t be modified for EU release

      • DyLaN

I’m pretty damn sure “JP language” won’t be causing as much fuss as the other 2 you are listed.

        • Hexodious

You will be surprised how many people in Europe prefer dub over sub.

          • DyLaN

I learn something new, I guess?

          • Neppygear

I will admit to having imported a few US editions in order to escape the sub-onlyness…

          • mega jew

            They’re called plebs.

          • Neppygear

They’re called people who won’t take being deprived of Laura Bailey sitting down.

          • Shady Shariest

Are they in the dub-aggressive countries? Can understand then -_-‘

          • Hexodious

            What the?

  • Go2hell66

no mention of the word “digital” or “download”

    i am impressed NISA

    • Shady Shariest

Inb4 “Update: NISA forgot to add digital”

      • DizzyGear

        Dont jinx it…

    • Malon

      Nisa usually release everything physical.

  • ReidHershel

I’m so confused, is this coming out in August? They never specified a date.

    • revenent hell

Amazon has had it set for August fifth for some time now… And its wiki agrees so…..

      • wyrdwad

We haven’t actually announced a date yet, though, I’m afraid. Until we do, any date you see online is placeholder. (Though even a placeholder date can tell you one thing, and that’s the date we’ve been shooting for!)

        • revenent hell

Ah good to know at any rate (amazon is notorious for making up dates hence my dot dot dots) but the wiki agreeing made it believable since they typically won’t even add a date unless the publishers announce it. I pretty much always just believe the month really when it comes down to it.
          Thanks for the confirmation!

  • Shippoyasha

    NISAmerica making a European copy?

    Where is my NISE?

    • Shady Shariest

Isn’t NISE just a branch of NISA :P

    • Thatguy

      http://store.nisaeurope.com/ – here it is. With it’s prices :D

    • DizzyGear

I asked them about it once and this is what Chris King replied:
“It is solely “NIS America”, however at one point in the past, we did have a separate entity titled “NIS Europe”.”

      • Neppygear

“NIS Europe” published Disgaea 3 on PS3 here. It was actually just Square-Enix, though.

        • JohnNiles

“You thought it was NIS Europe, but it was me, Square Enix!” o_O

  • Cerzel

    Xseed why

So does this game have DLC? Because if not I’ll import it instead.

    • Hexodious

I believe some costume DLC, not quite sure.

  • JuVu

    Yes yes YES YES YESSSSS.

And here I thought I would already have way too many games worth buying this October. Well, one more to the list, then. Day bloody One. NISA is the best publisher when it comes to bringing games over here in Europe.

(Although I’m anxious about a possible digital-only release even though they have treated us well in case of equal releases thus far.)

(And those European store prices are still too high.)

  • Its funny as I’ve finally just started to play the Japanese version.

No word if it’s digital or not ¬_¬

I was hoping for the PS4 version but as It sold badly in Japan I’m not sure if we will ever see it

    • landlock

It’s retail. If it was digital Xseed would just do it themselves.

      • Ah that’s cool, I may pick it up when they say PS4 is complete no go

  • TheCynicalReaper

    “NISA European Store” NOPE
NOOOOOOOOOOPE Did you SEE the prices on that thing? They have no clue what the exchange rate is. It’s cheaper to just import it.
Sorry, man, but no way in blazing blue hell is this a good idea UNLESS NISA changes the ridiculous prices to appropriately match the exchange rate.

60 British Pounds does NOT equal $60

    • revenent hell

Most Europeans complain about the exchange rate since it seems to be common practice amongst video game publishers to do this that aren’t European based…..
There must be a reason for it since mostly all of them do so. Is the base rate of pay so much more in most European areas? Are housing and cost of living extremely less expensive than in NA locales? Because they have to do more translation work for the game?
I’m not defending or anything just trying to figure out why its the same number ya know?

      • Shady Shariest

They decided to settle in U.K =_=… The most backwards country in Europe…
Meaning that they are as far away as possible from the mainland, under a different currency and ultimately poorer standards…

And U.K Right now is seeing extremely costly housing, btw. About 1 in 10 families have enough money (even when taking a sizable mortgage) to buy a house.

        • Well we are a country that seems to pay more in the EU than we get out of it, and we pay for lazier and poorer EU countries like Spain to develop so I agree we are partly backwards =P

But our currency is strong and we are no way near as poor as the US which is the most debt ridden country

The games cost more because of Tax, Tax is paying for Infrastructure and free health care which most countries can’t afford and people need, Using an America for example again,

So honestly I’d say your wrong besides paying for other EU countries to develop I’d say we are not way backwards

          • Shady Shariest

Spain is corrupt, not lazy -_-‘ And your currency is currently strong only because you are a traditional port to Europe :P Make no mistake: EU has a large part in keeping your currency strong… And it says something about € that even in financial crisis the difference is… 1£ ~1,25€, Not too much =W=

And you are pretty backwards when compared to other countries in EU =W= Your politics are lazy and self-centered, even your prime-minister is a populist :P Not mentioning large youth-unemployment, out-of-date schooling regulations, ukip…

          • our un-employment rate isn’t too bad around 7% which a lot lover than other countries, hell Spain s youth unemployment is around 50% of under 25s.

And Ukip is a joke =P As some say here your better off voting Mudkip

          • Shady Shariest

The fact that it still gets over 20% votes, and into the EU tells something about the joke…

edit: But who am i to deny you wouldn’t be heading to the right direction despite all this ? :3

          • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

I never thought I would see political and economic conversation on this site. o.O lol!

          • shadowind

Stranger things have probably happened here, my friend… LOL

          • LDM

If you ask me, it’s kind of fun to watch. *eats popcorn*

          • shadowind

Yeah, the UK has a shitload of corrupt politicians (most of whom will hopefully be out of a job next year when the general election takes place, unless the majority of people who vote are going to be really fucking stupid and vote them back in!), but at least our unemployment isn’t as high as Spain’s…

      • Shady Shariest

Oh, and the exchange rate passes because nobody high enough cares :/ (The special occasion being when this is done to £, which for some reason gets special treatment ._.)

      • shuyai

Nah normally full price game is £39.99 in uk (£45-50 ish for ps4/X1,which is stupid since next gen game never change price in US)
the $1=£1 thing normally happen to console not game, this is probably the most expensive game release in uk

      • TheCynicalReaper

“There must be a reason for it”
Yes, mate, and it’s called “ignorance/price gouging”

People can debate and argue about censorship all they like, but THIS, THIS PRICING IS INEXCUSABLE

    • It’ll probably change

      • Limbless

They’ve already stated the prices currently there won’t change, and I’m certainly not crossing my fingers for new releases coming up to be different. The best they’ve done is take ~5 pounds off of shipping fees, which is beyond ridiculous, considering shipping is currently something like 10-15 pounds to Europe and some ridiculous number like 20-25 to Australia when it should be free. Hell, ozgameshop can ship anything all the way to Australia with no shipping fee, and the games themselves are very well priced too. And on top, NISA have restricted access to the American store and expect everyone to pay in pounds with no option of changing the currency view whatsoever. The NISA Europe store isn’t simply a tragedy, it’s an insult.

        • TheCynicalReaper

There’s websites and shipping companies that will act as proxies for this sort of thing. Don’t order from the NISE store until they change their prices.

    • landlock

I take it you import every single game that’s released then because it’s ALWAYS cheaper.

      • TheCynicalReaper

My friends use Shipto and etc. to get the job done.
There’s no excuse for pricing like THIS
Edit 2: Oops, there’s the image. Now I accidentally double posted it

    • shuyai

i think they noticed how stupid the price is because they taken akiba’s trip 2 off the Nisa europe store plus i think thats the price for Limited edition(All game is LE on euro store currently) because no way they are that stupid and since it is physical copy it will be sold much cheaper on other retailer

  • michel

    Thanks NISA! <3

  • Hexodious

NISA? So how much extra do I need to pay this time? +€40?
It’s quite surprising that one of my favorite publishers became my most hated publishers in a mere instant.

No thanks, i’ll import it from my local store where I can buy the game without pony up a large amount. Money doesn’t grow on my back.

  • landlock

Cool. That’s one less game I’ll have to import. Thanks NISA!

  • Glenn De Boer

It was to be expected afterall there is a DLC for a Prinny as a weapon.

  • shadowind

It’s interesting that NIS America are distributing the game over here in Europe even though I’m curious as to why we Europeans have to wait 2 extra months for the game to come out over here even though there probably won’t be any differences between the US and EU versions…

    • Neppygear

It happens. Their Disgaea 4 and Persona 4 Golden releases had similar delays for whatever reasons. It could be worse, it could be BlazBlue or P4 Arena.

      • shadowind

That’s definitely true. As for Persona Q, I’m looking at importing the NA LE from Videogames Plus as the price for the EU LE is a whopping £69.99 in British Pounds while the NA equivalent costs around £44.99 when converted from Canadian Dollars when bought from Videogames Plus!

        • Neppygear

Their EU Store prices are really gross, yes, but the 3DS is also really region-locked. Importing isn’t much of an option there unless you have multiple systems…

          • shadowind

I’d rather buy a import 3DS unless somehow one day a way will be found to make 3DSes region-free permanently (I’m already seriously considering buying a second PSVita pre-owned first-gen version when the price is right so I can have one for American games and one for EU games without all the crap of formatting the console to play games from different regions. Whoever thought it was a bright idea to lock the console to the user’s PSN region is a idiotic fucktard who I’d definitely love to give a Rider Kick to if it was possible!)

Ironically enough, when they were at the London MCM Comic Con in May, they had a stall where they were selling some of their games, some of which were cheap including Time and Eternity for £12 AND it came with the official Artbook for it as well! (Another bargain which I got from the same event was a Blazblue Messenger Bag pack which came with the LE of the latest Blazblue game for Vita (although you could also choose the PS3 version if you wanted), a mug, a mousemat, a doujinshi, a artbook and a choice of one of three t-shirts plus the messenger bag and it only cost me £20 for all this stuff in the messenger bag! Probably one of the best bargains, if not THE best bargain I’ve ever had in all the years I’ve attended the event! ^_^)

        • SirRichard

I didn’t even know we were getting an LE for Persona Q here. That’s a surprise, NISA never seem to bother with them for us.

          • shadowind

It was announced on NISA Europe’s Facebook page yesterday.

    • Shady Shariest

Might be PSN stuff…? NISA has an odd history with PSN…

  • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

Xseed said that as of right now there is no confirmation on a release of the PS4 version in NA so I still might pick this up for Vita in the mean time. With all the work they put into it to localize and even dub, I intend to support it…and also because it looks so…fun :)

  • 11037

Cheers NISA! I can’t wait to pick this up.

  • Good, now I can get the extra costumes too. :D

  • Kornelious

Sweet. So they officially confirmed that the release date is August 5th? I was worried that it would get pushed back like Ys: Memories of Celceta and Ragnarok Odyssey ACE…… -_-

Even though we will likely get the PS4 version, I’m still gonna buy both versions…..I don’t mind triple dipping XD

    • wyrdwad

Er, actually, we haven’t confirmed the American release date yet — August 5th is a placeholder, and likely will NOT be the actual release date.

Hopefully it won’t be too far behind that, though! We’ll let you guys know as soon as we’ve confirmed.

      • Kornelious

Oh….Well that’s cool, I have a couple other games to pick up so this works out, plus I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait! Thanks for responding personally, you guys are doing a great job :)

I just REALLY hope you guys don’t choose September to release it X(

      • Jimmy Bump

        Thanks for telling us!

  • FX102A

As much as supporting NISA Europe leaves a bad taste in my mouth after the whole EU Store debacle, I guess I’ll buy them both to conserve my US PSN cards (sorry XSEED, still love you guys).

    • FX102A

Well, al depends if both a physical releases. Any digital and I deal in C$.

  • AndreasStalin

I want to get this one but then I saw a gameplay video and the sounds the main character makes when fighting got old, really fast…

Still get it on the Vita I guess.

  • Bob Slim

Its coming to EU by nisa yall better hope they dont censor it. Just jokeing I dont think they will mabye

  • Zoozbuh

Jesus, that’s a long gap between the two regions. Assuming the US release date is still sometime in August, I mean. I think I’ll be importing this- I won’t be surprised if the EU release turns out to be digital-only or something anyway. And screw that, I want that niche boxed goodness.

  • Guest

    F*ck.. my money…!

  • F*ck my wallet!

  • nobitakun

Cool! They are going to charge us 80$ for the normal game and 100$ for the special edition if any. I cant wait to buy that bargain…

  • Boku

Importing it is then. Ill be able to get the game cheaper, earlier and without giving a penny to NISA; everybody wins.
