    Resident Evil 1 only?

    • alexis cortes

I know, they should bundle it together with a Remaster of Resident Evil Zero.

  • Espoir

Hopefully 2 gets a remake. Why doesn’t 2 get any more love? D:

    • Fub Frank

Well, there is an actually possibility. Someone posted on the capcom forums of an RE2 HD site and has since been taken down.

      • Vesperion

        Talk about a slip up

      • HerosLight

That’s something to look forward to even if it is a rumour.

      • Espoir

        Let’s hope, then!

  • -Misaki-

So those HD comparisons pics are between the original REmake and the PS3/360 version, huh?

  • Vesperion

So i can finally play this game with a real d-pad now?

    • GibbRS

I played it on the Gamecube using a PS1 Dual Shock ^__^

  • Go2hell66

the best resident evil! can’t believe this took so long!

  • Roberto

Please capcom dont fail on me again

  • Ric Vazquez

This is the RE my PS3 has been waiting for!

  • Michael Cortorreal

That Gamecube game back in the day did a pretty good job.
The PS3/360 remastered looks even better of course, there is a lot more detail on the characters and the envoriment.

But still, Gamecube version looks really solid, even now. At least to me anyways.

    • Snorlaxation

You’re totally right, they did a pretty great job. Gamecube did a pretty great job

      • Michael Cortorreal

:3 I wonder if Capcom is thinking to bring that to PS4 and Xbox One.
Knowing them, it might come out by the end cycle of this gen.

        • Snorlaxation

I wouldn’t be surprised by whatever they do, Capcom has a habit of being unsurprising in its surprises. But I wouldn’t complain if they did. I only ever went as far as 4, which I loved, but 0, 1, and 2, really had those elements that felt like being in a zombie movie, and it just felt so scary, even if you weren’t really scared. The atmosphere and the scenery and everything.

  • TD1251

This better have either an English language option or at least subs!

    • ffboi7

English dub probably since I believe all Resident Evil games are recorded in English with I think revelations and 6 being the only two with japanese dub.

      • TD1251

        Thanks for the info!

  • Dave Cain

Oh yeah. They are testing the water for old style RE games. People buy this then they’ll make RE7 like this. Buy it people!!!!!!!

    • Fub Frank

I wouldn’t put my hopes in that. It is not like Capcom is new to remakes or anything. They could (most likely) be cashing in on the market they know they have.

      • aizen310

        Remember Darkstalker Chronicles.
        It was such a tease.

    • Anime10121

That’d only work if Capcom hasnt already started on RE7 by its release…

  • Godman

Well this came out of nowhere, now I know whats going on my wishlist ♪

  • Tincho D

Call me crazy but i kinda like the filter effects in the GC version better than the super crispness of this remaster.
Still, people who didn’t play the GC/Wii version should definitely play the remaster when it comes out in the west.

    • Nicholas Perry

It’s because it’s the same low res 2D images upscaled and sharpened to hell and back.

If this were a true remaster, they’d look far superior.

Really, the only 3D objects in the game are the character models really. Everything else is a 2D element projected in 3D space.

I really don’t see how they can call it an HD Remaster.

  • That collectors set looks awesome! Wish I was born in Japan though… first serve on rare stuff!

    • Brandon

      No you don’t. Trust me.

  • XerosBeat

Oh man, this is the game that gave me nightmares back in the day. Glad to see it getting a remaster, despite the LE being Japan-only.

  • Keiji Johnson

Man, why does Japan always get all the awesome stuff while the rest of us is stuck with a digital-only release? The same thing goes for Ace Attorney: Duel Destinies and Wright Selection, as well. T_T

  • Daniel Rossevelt

Who needs that when i still have the directors cut for my PS ( I need it :( )

  • MrTyrant

I thought a CD music with this theme would be included. They need to remember their roots lol

  • SeventhEvening

Is that pen really a ballpoint? Lamy produces only two models of ballpoint in that shape, the Safari and Al-Star. However the rear part of the pen in that shot isn’t the same as Lamy’s ballpoints, instead resembling Lamy’s Rollerball and Fountain versions, although the lack of reservoir means fountain is out of the question. From that picture, I would guess that is a Lamy Safari L314 Rollerball pen with a STARS logo, since Lamy ballpoints are cap-less pens and I doubt Lamy would make an entire new model for this purpose.

That said, why in the world didn’t Capcom throw some crappy pen into the set instead? A Lamy Safari costs around 3700 yen. How big of an overlap is there between people who care about pens and people who love Resident Evil?

  • zaidandzhadow

Much time before Chris hit on steroids.

  • s07195

    No Jill Sandwich joke? Disappointed.

  • Michael Cortorreal

I will get a lot of hate but its ok, I find it interesting that people always love Resident Evil one remakes, even if they get them almost each gen.
    PS – Original Game
    Dreamcast got a remake
    Gamecube got a remake
    Ps3 got a remake
But if other games gets a remake, many people would start commenting how much said company is milking the game.
