Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II Teases A Bit Of Its “Trilogy”

By Sato . August 28, 2014 . 1:00am

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II is an upcoming PlayStation 4 title will have you travel across three dimensions based on different “games”. In Compile Heart’s latest trailer, they tease a bit of the third part and world of the game, called Heart Dimension Neptunia H: Trilogy Final and Thus into the Legend.

While the trailer doesn’t reveal too much as far as the story goes, it mentions that Heart dimension Neptunia H will be the closing chapter of the trilogy.

Similar to the other trailer for the Zero Dimension Neptunia Z part, we get another burst of key words, like “heart,” “delusion,” “vortex,” “light,” “shadow,” “awaken from the nightmare,” “friendship,” “together,” and “dream” at the very end.

The trailer ends with the message: “If it’s what you want, I’ll follow you anywhere… and watch the same dream as you.”

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II will release sometime in 2014 for PlayStation 4.

…………… This is based on the possibility of a gaming crash isn’t it?

    • Landale

Possibly. I see a few different angles this could be taking.

    • Christopher C

I would think so. It’s kinda implied.

    • God

If it is, there will definitely be a point in the game where they make you think the game crashed.

  • DyLaN

Is that Effole/Ethel in the video?

In any case, the song is nice at least but it doesn’t leave too much to speculate unlike the Hyperdimension PV.

Btw, the full/almost full TL of the texts.

    • Landale

The split hair on the side for her doesn’t come down far enough, and it has three spikes in it, compared to two with whoever this is supposed to be.

      • Landale

That said, along with the edit of two and a half missing words how the hell I messed up like that is beyond me, I would love that. Mostly because it would prove me a little less crazy about seeing a possibility that a lot of their recent games and series have some overall connection to each other.

        • Pipe

So you rather want the series finale to not make any sense at all and ruin it for everyone that didn’t play whatever game that character is from, for the sake of your headcanon?

          • Landale

Yeah, sure, aside from that not really being what I said at all. There’s a difference between jokes based on a momentary thought formed from utter madness, and claims of “headcanon”. Admittedly I suck at jokes, but I try.
Also, you would be surprised at how many things they “ruin” for people who didn’t play their older games already. Idea Factory’s been around for a long time, nearly 20 years, they slip in a lot of stuff from their older works. Most of their DLC references a lot of their older works, and for somethings more recent and less optional, we saw Tari’s design long before Victory. It was seen in Cross Edge, unruined. Shampurus, from Mugen Souls, in Victory. Macaroon from Trinity Universe in the first Neptunia.

          • Pipe

Well, I would credit that to CH agenda of reusing old assets to cut costs. They are pretty famous for that. RB1&2 also use the same dungeons as Victory but I would hardly call that a reference.

          • Landale

The Tari art thing, as you can see, was a new image based on the original undamaged location. Neither game had both versions of that area. Macaroon had no model prior to her inclusion in Neptunia, just a portrait as she was just a shopkeeper NPC before being used as an enemy. Only the Shampurus could be considered asset reuse, but they also don’t tend to reuse models of things with actual plot relevance without them still having relevance, making them an oddity in the reuse habits.

Point being, the joke was simply that even if she made it in somehow how would that be much different than their habit of doing such things prior? Mock conspiracy theory joke basically, like the everything everywhere confirming Half-Life 3. But, like I said, I suck at joking. Not helped at all by being up for a few days straight now, sleep deprivation does funny things to a person.

  • Interesting. I hope we’ll get trailers with a little more length to them though lol

    • Anime10121

I hope we’ll get trailers with the actual GAME in them soon :P

      • DyLaN

Well, since Neptune U is/going to be out, they should be focusing on V-II after that. Maybe we will get them in TGS?

      • That too lol

  • Joshua Myers

The first jrpg for ps4 and my current only reason to own one XD

    • The first is Omega Quintet.

      • Joshua Myers

Well that is completely uninteresting so…

  • Morningstar

I think that the worlds in V II represent different points in Gameindustri’s timeline, similar to how the Ultradimension resembled the 80s. With the order being G, H and Z.

Of course I also have a theory that the Zerodimension is the aftermath of the Conquest Ending

  • Kornelious

Enough with the teaser’s! let’s see what this looks like on the PS4! XD

    • nick_54g

imagine victory but just on ps4, maybe with less jaggies and framerate problems

    • DyLaN

Look no further than Omega Quintet.

  • God

Finally! Some seriousness!! I love the the comedy and references in Neptunia, but it lacked a little bit of seriousness, that’s why the first one was my favourite, it had just the right amount of seriousness (very low) in the right places.

  • Argh, stop teasing and show us some gameplay vids! :P

  • AkiraScare

Makes me think that maybe Neptune was dreaming the whole time and she dies…

  • Will John

    song is serious damn

  • Nee Nee

So like am I missing something? Excuse me if I’m wrong but there’s already been 3 games so far: The first, MK2 and Victory. Wouldn’t Victory 2 be the 4th of a quadrilogy rather than a trilogy? Unless the first game doesn’t really count into the story. Huh.

    • Landale

Victory 2 is being designed, more or less, as its own self contained trilogy.
Aside from that, most of the Neptunia media are unrelated as far as continuity goes and as such can be taken alone without missing anything. The only direct connections are mkII, possibly Re;Birth2 taking it’s place, leading into Victory which then most likely leads into Victory 2. Can’t say with absolute certainty yet on Victory 2 to my knowledge, the last thing I recall touching on connection was an interview around the announcement, and they dodged questions of continuity more than actually answer them.

      • zazza345

To be more precise , they mentioned three dimensions with different monsters and characters, “like three different games”. The game is called VII but “technically can be considered a separate game”. They haven’t said a single word about the continuity save for adult Neptune, but even in that case the message was given in a criptic way.

      • Nee Nee

Oh okay thanks both of you, haven’t been paying too much attention to the latest news so this article confused me. All cleared up now, thanks.
