Sonic Mania released for a handful of systems yesterday, and already people are analyzing the game and its aspects. Digital Foundry has shared their own technical analysis of the game, including their conclusions on the Switch version, which you can watch in the following video.

The analysis shows that Sonic Mania is a much improved and evolved version of the older Sonic games, including broader color palettes, more complex sprite artwork, and smoother frame rates. As far as the Switch version goes, the game runs at a consistent 60fps, and only seems to dip a little during the 3D bonus stages.

Sonic Mania is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
