In a statement to Eurogamer recently, The Pokémon Company explained that motion controls will be required for Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee!

According to The Pokémon Company, while the Joy-Cons can be used to throw Pokéballs in Tabletop Mode and Docked Mode for the Nintendo Switch, the alternative in Handheld Mode is moving the Switch system to aim, then pressing A to throw the ball.

The Pokémon Company also stated that the Johto region will not be available as a second region.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! release on November 16, 2018 for Nintendo Switch. The new core RPG title will release in the second half of 2019 for Switch.
