Dreamfall Chapters To Have A Director’s Cut Version

Recommended Videos

The initial Kickstarter goal for Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey was $850,000. Thanks to generous contributors, developer Red Thread Games are well past that goal and have amassed a little over $1.5 million in contributions.

$1.5 million is a significant mark because one of the stretch goals for Dreamfall Chapters was a director’s cut version of the game with more content and a developer commentary. Reaching $1.5 million allows Red Thread to develop this meatier version of the game instead, which means more content for players and more insight into the game’s development for the more enthusiastic players.

Unfortunately, Red Thread didn’t manage to hit their other major stretch goal of $2 million, which would have allowed them to begin pre-production on a second game, The Longest Journey Home, but as previously reported, they plan to develop this game one way or another anyway. In short, everybody wins!

Meanwhile, development on Dreamfall Chapters is proceeding and Red Thread recently decided to perform a few modifications on Zoë’s face, to make her look a little more like she did in Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. You can watch this process in the video embedded above.
