In Hades II, the number of Arcana cards you are allowed to equip is based on Melinoe’s Grasp level. This guide will explain how to increase Grasp in Hades 2 and the best methods to farm Psyche in the game.
How to Increase Grasp Limit in Hades 2
To increase Grasp in Hades 2, you need to use Psyche at the Altar at the Crossroads. While the mechanic seems simple at first, it can be easy to overlook it due to the feature being hidden in the UI menu.
Here are the steps to increase Grasp Limit:
- Head to the Crossroads and exit to the Training Grounds.
- Interact with the Altar by pressing “RB” to “Meditate.”
- While on the Altar menu, click “right” on your D-Pad to move your cursor from the Arcana cards to the Melinoe portrait on the right side of the screen.
- While selecting the “Grasp of the Arcana” Melinoe image, press “A” on your controller to “Upgrade.”
- You will now be able to increase your Grasp limit in Hades 2 by turning in “Psyche” energy.
If you are starting the game for the first time, you will have to start and die during a few run attempts before getting access to the Altar. But as soon as you return to the Crossroads, the Arcana feature is unlocked fairly early into the story.
How to Get Pysche in Hades 2
Knowing how to increase Grasp in Hades 2 is only half the battle, as you need to obtain Psyche before you can do it. Although you should get Psyche naturally just by playing the game, there are a few ways to farm it, which we’ll break down below.
Wretched Broker
The first method to farm Psyche in Hades 2 requires you to unlock the Wretched Broker at the Crossroads. After progressing your game far enough, you will get access to the “Summoning of Mercantile Fortune” Incantation. To complete it, you will need to acquire 10 Bones during run attempts in the underworld.
After completing the “Summoning of Mercantile Fortune,” the Wretched Broker will now show up south of the Incantation Pot at the Crossroads. Speak to the spirit, and he will trade you 5 Psyche for 30 Bones. After a few hours of playing Hades 2, you will have a lot of Bones, making this the quickest way to get Psyche in the game.
Psyche Room
The second method to get the currency in Hades 2 is to choose Psyche Rooms during run attempts. While items are randomized, you should at least encounter at least two Pysche Rooms per run, depending on how far you progress. Once you get enough Psyche, return to the Altar at the Crossroads and turn them in to increase Melinoe’s Grasp Limit.
