Song Of Memories Nintendo Switch Version Canceled And PlayStation 4 Version Dated

There is some unfortunate news for people who were excited about playing Song of Memories on the Nintendo Switch. PQube has canceled that port. While the PlayStation 4 version is still on the way, and in fact now has a February 1, 2019 release date, the other version has been axed due to "development complications" and quality issues. (Thanks, Rice Digital!)

Here is PQube’s official statement regarding the Song of Memories Nintendo Switch cancelation.

Today, PQube announces the release date of the romantic visual novel Song of Memories on PlayStation 4. The love story that turned the Japanese genre upside down with its surprising twist releases worldwide on February 1st. While the PlayStation 4 version and the special Encore Edition are confirmed, we regrettably had to cancel the Nintendo Switch version of the game. Unfortunately, Song of Memories can’t be brought to a functioning level of quality our fans demand on the Switch due to development complications.

The decision to cancel the Nintendo Switch version of Song of Memories is a recent one. After all, it was only this week that PQube was talking about localization decisions made in the game.

A new Song of Memories trailer was released alongside the PlayStation 4 release date announcement.

Song of Memories is immediately available on the PC. The PlayStation 4 version will debut on February 1, 2019. The Nintendo Switch port has been canceled, which means that the game will not be available on that platform in any region.
