Sony Interactive Entertainment shared the consolidated financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year with the three months-ended June 30, 2019 with updated PS4 hardware shipment numbers.
The PlayStation 4 console sold 3.2 million units in Q1 of FY19, or the first three months of the fiscal year of 2019. That’s about the same amount it sold during the same period last year. In the last quarter the PS4 reached 96.8 million so with the added 3.2 million it now sits at a clean 100 million.
In full game software sales going from 40.6 million to 42.9 million. The ratio of digital game download sales of full game software have also risen significantly. In the first quarter of FY18 43% of all full game software were sold digitally, but in the first quarter of FY19 the ration has gone up to 53% in favor of digital.

As for PlayStation Plus subscribers, numbers have been up since Q3 FY18 and didn’t seem to drop too much by Q1 FY19 with 36.2 million subscribers.
Lastly, Sony previously forecasted about 16 million units of PS4 consoles sold by March 31, 2019, but this has been brought down a million to 15 million in the company’s updated forecast.
The PlayStation 4 first released in November 2013 in North America and Europe, followed by a Japanese launch in February 2014.
